Glad to see this video on your build thread. I could not remember which was the high pressure or low pressure side. I ended up using just the OEM hose off the LS pump. It does have a bit of a high bend but right now I don't think that is going to be an issue.
I'm glad I could help out. I'm trying to be especially thorough on things that I couldnt find good information on. I'm hoping that by listing part numbers and things like that, it will be a road map for others who are struggling with the same.
I threw mine together already but like your techniques. I went new steel lines with the spectra hangar and tank with the good ol 255lph walbro. Works mint.
this is very helpful. I noticed that you don't have an ac compressor, where did you get a belt that fits? I'm working on a 85 blazer 4x4 and have installed a 6.0 Lq4
Just out of curiosity, since this was posted quite some time ago, but why did you not use the factory power steering cooler? Have you had any issues since it's been on the road? Just curious.
I used a short wrench to tighten the pressure line. Takes some patience and about 1/6th of a turn at a time. Check out the 3:28-3:30 mark in the video and you’ll see the wrench.
Thanks for the video, this is a huge help! Also, do you know the part number of the belt that you're running? It looks like you're not running an AC compressor, same for me.
I am running the Vintage Air AC and the belt is super long. I'm afraid my belt number won't help you in this instance. Sorry. Gates website I believe has all the part numbers and belt lengths of you can measure you're length. I'll see if I can find the site I used.
Something aint adding up here. one hose is O-ring style (pressure) and other hose is inverted flare (return)... The straight end hose for return shouldve been correct
Pressure line I have is a Masterpro from Oriellys Auto parts and the number on it is 71088. Are you trying to screw it into the port closest to the frame on the steering gearbox?
I wonder what's going on with them. I've got these numbers that I used, one for each hose that may cross reference to a number that may be helpful. Do you have hydra-boost? I do not have hydra-boost so that may be something to look at. Here's the numbers.... 361350 and 354860. The 354860 is the 71088 hose. Hope this helps guys
No problem I looked up an original hose for the gearbox side and it just needs a different flaring and nut with threads starting sooner gonna get the local parts shop to just make me a whole hose

Do you know if those parts will work on a G Body? Corvette style ps pump .

No worries, I just realized, the factory AC compressor has it's own belt... so a standard alternator/ps belt will work fine for me. Thanks though!
Used adapter to block then clam to mounts made new front crossmember
What year power steering pump did you use?
Will Keeton it was the one for 99-02 Chevy Silverado. Got it at Oreilleys I believe.

The pressure hose fits on the pump but not on my gear box can you check your part number again . Thanks

Yes
Same issue here the fitting on the gearbox end will not seat far enough into the gear box to start the threads part number 71088

Is the return line number you have on here wrong? Its not the same as the one in previous video. That number I believe was 71402.
I give the updated numbers at the end of the video after the install was complete.
I'm thinking a napa part number 7-1202 or something like that.
1980 LS K5 I watched the next video and you confirmed the second number.
