IDK if she mentions is (I'm deaf and there are no subtitles) but keeping a little bottle of UV resin handy for attaching the findings makes life easier. I spent like £10 on a UV lamp and little bottle which has lasted me ages, the resin cures in 1-2 minuets as opposed to the 24 hours common of 2-part resins, so when you just need a little drop for attaching something, and it's freeform as oppose to molded, UV resin is super useful.
Hi Annie, Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, UV resin does work well to attach the findings - it just needs to ooze out from under the finding on all sides so that the UV light can cure it. I personally like the 5-minute epoxy adhesive. It's not quite as quick as UV resin but it gives such a strong and reliable bond. But for convenience, the UV resin is a great alternative!
@@bearhugzfam649 Yes, that's the one, Annie. It goes by the name of Araldite here. I'm not sure what name it goes by in the UK, but in the US, some of the well known brands that make a 5-minute epoxy adhesive are Devcon, Loctite, J-B Weld and Gorilla.
No, there's no colour added to the petals. I dried them in the microwave so the colours stayed vibrant after drying. Hi Anna Here are some silver fold-over leaf bails: amzn.to/3fl2FFq The fancy charms are called filigree. Look for something like these: amzn.to/3Wm4134. I often trim away part of the design with wire cutters if they're too large for my petals.
Thank you Никита. Some flowers can turn completely translucent in resin and you don't know which ones it will happen to until it happens. But if you seal them first, you can prevent the resin from coming into contact with the petal's surface so that the colour and opacity is preserved. Not all flowers need to be sealed: I have had roses that I didn't seal and they were fine whilst other roses in the SAME bunch became translucent. So it's not always necessary, but it is a good practice to get into. I hope that explains it! Myléne
Silica gel is non-toxic. However, if you have concerns about the brand you're using (some have small granules coated with a blue colourant), contact the manufacturer and explain that you intend to use it in the microwave.

@@MyleneHillam Yes, I sealed the dried flowers with the matte mod podge and left it overnight to dry before coating it with resin. Sorry I was unclear in the previous comment.
