- There was an attempt!
Noticed I was getting some weirdness with certain measurements while working on an upcoming video and decided to investigate why.
Unfortunately the problem ended up being a bit worse than it initially looked.

Those finely stranded wires are probably broke in several places throughout the whole length of the cable, not just near the end connections. Good video.
I like this. A way to make sure your leads are working properly. I wonder if they sell this as a kit. Like a positive and negative control
interesting video thanks
i have the same problem with my Fluke 174 i replaced the leads with brand new ones from Probe Master they are excellent but the price..... so i've keep the old one and i'm going to replace the connectors as you did it's going to be ok for an outher multimeter and this one of course..... the big problem is that it's copper and of course it not like to be bent all of the time and it's what happen to multimeter leads.
Altought you realized that the issued continued on other parts of the lead, all the process you went through was not in vane, i learned what i was looking for , im having issues also with my meter, and im pretty sure the leads are the problem
I would just toss them as likely whole cable is bad and won't be good to use for current measurements as well as they would likely burn up due to high resistance.
Mine did the same thing! What is the name of the replacement part and where can I find one? Thanks for the video.
Unfortunately I don't know the exact replacements for this meter, and I never got exact replacements. I just use aftermarket test leads that fit in the banana jacks.
Test probe Fluke Bad!!!🙋
