Thank you Natasha. Your Dhalpuris are just perfect. Even though I'm of Indian origin, I must admit your dhal puris are just the way it should be prepared. Thank you Caribbean.
Thanks very much for your lovely tips! Please give more cooking, freezing vegetarian food and party preparations please! I'm from India, and love your cooking!
this is the best receipe I've seen so far.....Thank you very much for sharing your talent. I surly going try this. Purchase some roti skin....Plain and with the filling. I bet this is the last time I'm gonna buy roti skin. ❤❤❤❤❤
Big up. I grew up with Jamaicans but have had this with True true trinis and Mauritian i have always wanted to make this cause it is one of my favourite breads. I failed big time first time i tried. I have made it twice now thanks to this vid 20 sec each side twice done! I add turmeric to my flour cause i like my roti yellow.
Just want you to know that I did it, and finally it came out right, it was very soft and nice, I believe is because the Temp was to low, plus the mixture was wrong, I could not have done it without you, thanks very much
Hi Natasha I am from Guyana but I am living in Jamaica Oueens New York. In Guyana we only use small roti pan.Anyway I just love your cooking I learning a lot from your cooking. Thank you. ⚘⚘⚘⚘👍👍👍👍👍👍👍⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘
Natasha where were you, 5 years ago, when I was learning how to make Dalpurry roty. I whatched all the video's available. I succeeded, but your teachings are the best on line. Thank you. Curry leaves are very, very hard to come by but soo tasteful, thanks for the new learned tricks.
Bless up Natasha thank you again for posting your recipes I like that you are patient and you take the time to make sure we the viewers get it right also I made the tambourine chutney and polorie for Christmas it came out excellent I find that if you use less water in preparing the polorie it is nice and thick not running I made the green seasoning as well. Natasha you are a true chef may God continue to bless your hands. please forgive me for the incorrect spelling of polorie have a bless night and Have a bless and prosperous New Year.
Hi. New subbie. I am obsessed. I love how you make cooking certain things look not as daunting. I have one question, when thawing out the lois the day before, is it best to thaw it in the warmest part of your refrigerator? Thanks. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for recipe. It looks delicious and simple. It is hard to find roti in Austin. So I cook Trini food for my family. They love roti and curried chicken. I will try this recipe. Have a wonderful day!
That' dhalpuri was wonderful! I have not seen that' in about 20 years! Meg family always buy for me when they come to visit ! That' looked delicious!!! Love ya and Gos bless! 💝💝💝💝💝😀😀😀😀😀💚💚💜💜💜💚💚❤❤💚💚💜❤❤💚💚
The street food in Trinidad is akin to indian roots like puri chole etc. Even mauritius street foods are almost like trinidad street foods. In mauritius, you see a guy with bicycle selling dholl purie around the street corners. Behind his biks is a small glass steel trunk which is a mini restaurant by itself. Your country is greattt....i wish i cud visit but due to the constraints of distance. best regards LBV PRASAD INDIA
Lbv Prasad oh yes our ancestors were From India so we have similar recipes that we adapted to our location. The food in Trinidad is multicultural and delicious. I made it to the Maldives it was a.long flight hopefully one day you can visit.
+Trini Cooking with Natasha the only difference is that we add turmeric also the flour - so the whole roti is yellow colour different to standard normal roti. I like ur version too so will b trying soon.
Hiii Natasha I really love all your recipes, just wanted to know if I was to omit the yeast and just use baking powder for the dough how much would I need to use
Natasha your recipes are always delicious most of them are similar to our Guyanese recipes.Your voice is charming and I assume you have a beautiful face, please show your face in your videos so your subscribers can feel abit more connected to you.
I'm just learning how to make roti. I have a glass top stove like yours. I don't have a tawa.I have a non-stick pan and cast iron griddle. If I buy a tawa is it best to use a steel or iron or non-stick type? The ones I've cooked so far are not soft and fluffy layers like yours.
I know I sound dense with split peas in the title, but my family always had green split peas in the pantry, never yellow split peas... so I had to check. Also found out bandanya is shado beni (and yes, it grows in the states - I have some on my porch in a pot - seeds available online)
Ok, another item that needed explaining... Roasted Ground Geera - have never heard of it. Found this: www.steamingpot.com/how-to-make-roasted-cumin-powder/ Is it roasted ground cumin seeds?
Thank you I will have to miss out the carapuleah leaf ( but I will try in the Asian shops ) I'm sure I can buy the curry leaves. I will let you know how it turns out. Have a 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 blessed day ❤️💛💚
If u don't have and mill to grind the peas what else can u use to grind the peas and what is the name of the powder u put in the pot of peas while it's boiling and what is the best flour to use

Natasha, I am/was a first time roti maker... my husband is impressed. They taste great, thanks for the video. The one problem i ran into was when I roll out the balls, often the dhalpuri ended up being off to one side. I tried rolling evenly but it didn't always help. Any tips?
ooohhhhhh. that makes sense. I'll try that next time. The other question is: do you roll it as thin as possible, or stop a bit before? Yah, my husband was super impressed with me - this Polish girl making paratha ;) He's Trini. He says even his mom didn't get them good and she was an excellent cook. Thanks again!
Hi Natasha. Your recipe looks fab. Having a family bbq on sunday so going to try them. My family are from Trinidad so it will be a big surprise for them

Sometimes i dont get my peas mixture to spread in the dough. You make it look so easy to do. Great cooking Natasha!
Liza Mckoy you have to press from the middle moving outwards.
Hello Nath, can you tell me what the yeast does in this case, the difference with à dough whitout yeast ???
Thank you I will have to miss out the carapuleah leaf ( but I will try in the Asian shops ) I'm sure I can buy the curry leaves. I will let you know how it turns out. Have a 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 blessed day ❤️💛💚
it will be great without the leaves. send me pics at natashaskitchen19@gmail.com thank you for watching :)

Trini Cooking with Natasha With a food processor, do i need to use water?

+Alana “sweettrini” Marcelle Amazon has it too
make this came out good.
Amazing!!! Thank you so much! Can I substitute chickpea flour?
Francesca D. never tried that but you need a flour with gluten or it won't swell
Look yummy Hun great video
Hi Natasha...I use this recipe came out great...but instead of using the yeast in the dough how much baking powder can I used...thanks
1tsp baking powder.
Less baking powder ???
@@senaramnarinesingh8495 extra to replace the yeast
Natasha, I am/was a first time roti maker... my husband is impressed. They taste great, thanks for the video.
The one problem i ran into was when I roll out the balls, often the dhalpuri ended up being off to one side. I tried rolling evenly but it didn't always help. Any tips?
Aggie A how nice. When you press out the balls before you roll you have to push the dhal evenly around so when you roll it out it goes throughout.
ooohhhhhh. that makes sense. I'll try that next time.
The other question is: do you roll it as thin as possible, or stop a bit before?
Yah, my husband was super impressed with me - this Polish girl making paratha ;) He's Trini. He says even his mom didn't get them good and she was an excellent cook.
Thanks again!
Aggie A polish how nice. You can roll it as thin as you would like ,just don't let it burst.
that look good man
Hi Natasha. Your recipe looks fab. Having a family bbq on sunday so going to try them. My family are from Trinidad so it will be a big surprise for them
