Just like Joseph mentions in the video, many retail investors from Norway invest in the US equity market because NOK has been one of the most weaken currency in the developed world against the dollar. Even short relative downturn in the stock market is easily offset by the strong dollar. Either way, unless weaken dollar cost can be offset by strong ROI in the US equity market, foreign investors will just leave the US and invest in their own domestic stock market instead. At the end of the day, investors will look at their screen and see stock market was up today, but their balance in their trading account is showing low or negative return because dollar has weaken, they will simply pull the money off of the US market and it will badly hit US companies valuation.
it might send US stocks lower but do companies really care? it's only the secondary mkt. they would have lower labour costs and be more competitive and able to invest inside the USA, where their clients are.
Joseph how can devaluing the Yen against the dollar cause the dollar to lose value??? Wouldn't they want the Japanese to increase the value of the yen against the dollar causing the dollar to lose value.

Depreciate a reserve currency - interesting. I would not like to hold EURO dollar, GBP, Japanese Yen... Without a stable reserve currency ( a currency most people trust ), how should we trade? It is going to be very interesting. No one wants to trade with gold.

I'm not sure on Treasury maturity effects exactly. I believe it's some form of Yield Curve Control so the US is turning Japanese.
