- Welcome to Transformotion Vehicle Rebuilds! Follow us as we rebuild some absolutely destroyed cars!
In today's episode, we attempt to save the front axle on Highpeak Range Rover Classic. But will it meet the same fate as the rear axle? If so, this will result in Matt massively overspending once again.. And we want to avoid that!
How do you think this restoration is coming along?
We would be grateful if you could give the video a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe if you're new to the channel.

Impressive work lads!! That’s looking mint. It’s great that Land Rover made the car leak oil to preserve the front axle. You don’t get that from many other brands.
bonus hey?! 🤣🤣
Always look on the bright side of life 😂
My 86 Classic is rust free due to all the underside being coated in oil from the leaking rear main, built in rust guard as standard equipment 😂
Most land rovers came out of the factory with leaks haha. When I used to run series 2 land rovers it was an indication that the engine gearbox transfer box and axles had oil in them. Always had fresh oil cause they leaked like a sieve 🤣
Posh boy High Peak Mat is going to be delighted with his classic RR when it's finished.
We hope so! Ha ha 😂
Wow lads… that front axle is looking the mutz nutz… 😂😂
Sorry Gaz 🐶
Ha ha gazza said he's not your mate anymore 🤣 ha ha
Excellent progress lads! Your smashing it!! Don't forget to straight pipe that V8 give Matt a nice suprise when he finally collects the car 😂😉
Ha ha id love to! It sounds awesome, matt would have kittens if that's how it sounded when he picked it up! 🤣
@@TransformotionVR would be a great reaction. All V8's should ROAR! When I bought my Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8 the first thing I did is chop the exhaust off completely from the end of the cat. So no middle box or back box. Sounded the bollocks 👌 was only getting 11MPG. But who cares when it's a V8 😏
Ha ha exactly 💯🤣 I think the exact same, but I'm 100% confident that matt wouldn't ha ha 😉
@@TransformotionVR hopefully it's finished this year sometime 👌
Yeah let's hope so, it's got to be done between other projects tho other wise itd just be months of matts range rover
Looking fantastic lads, doing a great job, can’t wait to see the next episode!!
Thanks Wayne, it's coming together now 😉
great job lad looks 100 times better few more jobs ticked off keep up the great work next video please
Thanks Mark, it's getting there now
It's incredible what a bit of know-how and effort can do. It's hard to believe it's the same axle. The range-y is starting to look like a classic car to be proud of.
Thanks man! The biggest bit is nearly done (the rust) onto the top side soon
wow it is starting to take shape
😁 it's getting there now!
Looking good so far well done great team work Looking forward to your next video. Tim 😊
Thanks Tim! We appreciate that, thanks for watching 😁
Am I the only one who’s nuts headed north at the sight of Gaz at the vet!! Poor guy!!😢
Great job guys looking forward to seeing her finished! 👍
Same here😂
Ha ha I felt the same! Poor bugger 🤣
Spheres are the shiny balls on RR they have a seal kit etc. If there is any pitting just bite the bullet and replace the pair. Definitely broke the back of this refurbishment now fellas. Great job keep em coming 👏 💪 👍 👌 🙌
Nice one mate! Yeah matts said just get them done so we'll be ordering a set of them too
Another tidy job
Well done
Nice one mate, we appreciate that 👍
Well done lads, another great video of its restoration.
Thanks mate, im still calling it a recommission 😂😂
Nice to see the forgotten art of Percussive Disassembly is alive and well on TVR... 😁
We love a good hammer time ha ha 😂
nice work starting to look good I can't wait to see the end result 👍
Thanks mate, I cant wait to see the back of it too ha ha 😄
Amazing work, jokes and entertainment something you only get in transformotion. Keep up the hard work guys.
Ha ha thank you 😊 that means a lot mate 👍
Great work lads, that axle is clean enough to eat your dinner off! 🔥
Ha ha nice one mate! She's shaping up now isn't she
Top job looking mint Lovely mallet work my dad used to call it his gentle persuader
Ha ha I had a mate that called his hammer a persuader....there was no gentle about it tho 🤣🤣
@TransformotionVR watching ur mech prowess is brilliant!!! No more squinters its full saftey nowadays. Keep em coming lads
Yeah we do try and wear them but if they're not easily found then the squints come out, and we were getting a lot of 'you only get one pair of eyes yano' comments ha ha
Thanks for another episode of Matts "Range Rover Resurrection" !
You're very welcome 😉
Top work, lads!👍
Nice one man! 😁
Really nice job lads, reminds me of what i did to mine in 95, unfortunately i sold it , thank the lord!!!!
What year was it? This was nearly brand new in 95! Thanks mate 👍
@@TransformotionVR it was an 86 in caspian blue, friend had a haulage business and he took it for a week and cleaned and waxoyled the underneath, it was a 5 speed manual.
Later on i had to get the layshaft replaced as it used to have a hell of a clunk on taking off, once that was sorted it drove great .All in all I've had five, first one a 72 in Lincoln green then a 74 in Bahama gold, then a 75 in Davos white, and finally (THE ONE THAT REALLY SICKENED ME) a 92 3.9SE complete with a 'porous block' , no end of grief with that b--tard including litigation !! Long story.
I finally saw the light and another friend at the time was importing Pajeros, he used to bring them home each night and i was amazed at the condition of them, he actually imported one for me in 2005, I still own that fantastic truck, its a LWB super exceed in gorgeous condition ,im always approached with the famous by now words " IF YOU EVER SELL IT LET ME KNOW"
,ha ha
Hope this lot hasn't bored you lads, take care of yourselves 😊
@@TransformotionVR ive just replied to your request took me ages to send you a potted history of my R/R,s and send it to you , and its not there ???
Yeah its here! Ha ha it took me all that time to read it ha ha 😂 that's a long history with them, I do like a shogun, we both used to have a shogun sports for off roading
At the start of this I was one of those that said nah to the project when you asked our opinion whether to go ahead, or, in the bin with it, got that wrong innit. It's looking tidy now, underneath that car has got loads of MoT's in it, a proper rescue, well done.
Nice one mate! I was sort of the same but it's not been as bad as we thought yano!
Outstanding work lads. Looks great. Matt must chuffed with that. Liam you need to bring Gaz into the workshop. Love Boxers got one myself he's called Elwood.
Hahaha that wound be a nightmare if we had a compound that was locked I would but he is just to hyper
Great job looks awesome 😊
Nice one mate
Looking really good gents! Should be proud that you took on the challenge.
Thanks mate!! It's not been as bad as we thought
Looks tidy lads. 👌👌
Nice one Damien 👍
When Gaz goes to lick down there its going to be a WTF moment 🤣🤣
Ha ha 😂 🤣
Another brilliant video! You guys are definitely the most innovative and the best mechanics ever. Matt's Range Rover is coming along amazingly. Keep up the excellent work! 😊
Thanks you so much! That's a nice thing to say! 😁 thanks for supporting the channel!
Good skills boys, work well together you two 👏
Nice one Vincent, we don't do too bad so we ha ha 😁
You guys made a great job mat should be proud of you two ❤
Thank you mate! I hope he is ha ha 😂
If you’re having to take the drive ball joints off you may as well replace the driveshaft seals and wheel bearings at the same time they’re not a huge amount of money and it won’t take too long too do 😁
Loving the content guys, keep it up 😁👍👍
Thanks for the advice mate, we'll look into that, and thanks for watching 👀
Great progress lads.
Cracking work on the underneath... 👍
Nice one mate, we can't wait till all the underside is done 👍
Another great watch lads love the range rover can't wait to see it finished.
Neither can we mate ha ha thanks 😊
Looks brand new boys. Great work.
Nice one james 😉
Nice job and I’m not talking about Gaz! 😁
Ha ha thanks 😊 🤣
The big spherical ball joint things are swivel pin housings - it looks as though they are pitted so definitely replace or they will leak oil for ever more
Thanks mate, matts give us the go ahead to do them
Well done lads ,great job!
Nice one man! 😁
Happy fathers Day chaps (except Gaz) 🤣
Great bazzin' action as usual! 😆 Looking forward to the next episode.
Another great video lads, keep up the good work 😁 🖖
Thanks man! Happy fathers day to you (if you're a dad) glad you enjoyed it, see you in the next one 😀
@@TransformotionVR I'm a dad to an 18-year old cat 🤣🤣
Ha ha 😂
While you were Bazzin' the vet was Gazzin'. Show us all a photo of poor Gaza's new look in the next video.
Poor Gaz. He'll remember that.
Ha ha the poor fella 🤣
Really good content, watching every video.
Thanks mate! We're glad you're enjoying the channel! Don't forget to share it with your friends ha ha 😉
I love watching it come together.
Thanks mate, it's getting there now 👍
Looking mint that lads, really interested to see the cost breakdown at the very end 👍👌
Thanks Mike! Id be scared to look at the price break down ha ha 😂
That is another transformationed axle. A superb job done by both of you. That was luck the oil preserved it. What was up with the old wheels? It's going to be a very nice Range Rover when it's done.
Thanks Joseph, that saved matt some money! It definitely did preserve all the middle of the axle didn't it!?
That’s another great job on the axle as usual you both have done a top job it’s so much better now I’m sure Matt will be more than pleased with all your hard work and effort another great video 👍
Nice one man! It's looking 100x better the underside now! Another few days and that should all be done then onto the top side
@@TransformotionVR definitely 👍and can’t wait to see the work on the panels etc now,it’s coming together nicely
Tbh the painter will do most of the bodywork, well fit them tho 👌
@@TransformotionVR nice one you’ve still got an involved job tho aligning all the panels etc but from your past builds you’ll crack this one just as well 👍
Thanks man, these aren't perfect out if the factory so I'm sure we'll manage ha ha
Been loving this build/rebuild! 👌
Thanks mate, we're glad you're enjoying it 😀
Land rovers must be the only car in the world that can be "finely tuned" by leathering it with a hammer 😂
Ha ha 😂 that's true 👍
😂😂
It looks new thank you for another informative video 😊
No worries Ronnie! Thanks man!
Proper job that
It's getting there now isn't it!? Thanks mate 👍
Another cracking job.👍
Nice one mate 👍
Coming on nicely boys 👍
Nice one mate, it's getting there now
If you hit the front grill with some semi flat black, it will make a world of difference.
That'll all be getting sorted when we move onto the bodywork 😉
@@TransformotionVR Kudos. HPA is going to be over the moon when it come time to bring it home. My 95 gets driven the most out of the fleet.
I hope so, is the 95 still the classic or is that the p38?
@@TransformotionVR 95 Classic. I did a full restoration. Oslo Blue with Bentley magnolia leather, Navy Blue carpet and piping. I also have a L405 but hardly drive it since the 95 is back on the road.
Ha ha nice! Id like one of then myself but I bet it's not got the character of the classic has it 😉
Another BOSS vid boy's
Nice one laa, we appreciate that 👍
Nice works lads
Nice one mate 👍
Almost there
Can't wait till it is there ha ha 😆
Don’t forget to replace the diff oil that leaked out…!
Well be dropping it all out and replacing it with new fresh oil 😉
Gaz's had his tezzies bazzed! Poor get
Ha ha ha 😂 🤣
Looks great, can’t wait to see the next one.
Thanks mate, we appreciate that 👍
It's funny how Matt dislikes modern cars and always gives touchscreens a death stare but he loves his old ancient stuff like this one 🤔
It's normally built better and lasts longer, wait till today's cars are over 30 years old, nothing will work ha ha I do like older cars myself they have more character 😀
@@TransformotionVR Nothing is meant to last long these days so people will buy another item. No mobile phone is good to use for more than a few years because they deliberately make apps not compatible etc.
It's a crap world we live in isn't it!? Everything should be made so I can be fixed and parts readly available
I am looking at purchasing a 1994 classic which is not half as bad as high peaks classic. Would you be interested in just doing what you have done to the chassis.
No welding, just bazzing off and painting?
Unfortunately not mate, we don't want to look at another one of these again ha ha 🤣🤣
And just like that the typo is fixed 😉
Good to see another episode though 😁
Ha ha nice one, we appreciate that 👍
Fixed but still wrong 😂😂
Well done Lads, I've restored a few Landy's and RR in the past, (for my sins) Question:- how many hours have you spent thus far on this project.? I'd love to know if your getting close to my estimate... Good luck getting her finished, she'll be stunning once done, if she was mine, I'd source a soft dash and put a Vogue leather interior in her.
thank mate that is a good question we have not even worked out hours real I'd have to check that tomorrow and let you know
@@TransformotionVR Cheers and I am really enjoying the channel. Keep it up as you'll go far.. Its so rare to find relatable car content on RUclips these days. Everything seems to be about Supercars aimed at 16 year olds.
cheers mate we appreciate that we just love to mess with cars and have a laugh what's your guess with the hour's
@@TransformotionVR Cheers for the reply, my initial guess was 400 hours without a full concourse paint, but I didn't know how far you guys wanted to go as these can easily double that, - to give you some context - I was 1200 hours into my last one. Have a good evening
bloody hell 1200 hours we are on about 300 hours with 2 ov us on it but to be honest it dose take longer because of filming it setting up cameras all the time in different places and all that good stuff 😀 for use all to watch so thanks for watching we appreciate the support 👍
Have you guys ever used Lanoguard? With Matt’s Range Rover going to live on the outskirts of Stockport, a car that whiffs a bit of sheep would go down well with the locals. 🤣 🐑
Ha ha tbh I've never smelt lanoguard so can comment 😅
👌👌
Nice one mate 👍
Do dogs tend to look like their owners or is it the other way round ( no offence Liam!) hope the doggie is on the mend😊
🤣🤣
For your hard work lads, Matt owes you a brand new Range Rover 😅
Ha ha I dont think there's much chance of that happening 😅
Richard on churchhouse classics" you tube, he has lots of vids and info on the old RRs he rebuilds them, might be worth a gander for you. 👍
I'm already subscribed to him ha ha thanks for the recommendation tho 😉
Another great video lads, thank you. 👍
How much longer do you think it will be before you hand her back to Matt all roadworthy again?
Thank you mate! You're very welcome! Erm tbh in not sure, hopefully it won't be too long but paint is gonna take a while
I don't know much about range rovers but looking at that front axle, it looks quite "industrial" id put money on it range rovers are not built like that today!
Ha ha you'd probably be right mate, nothing is made like it used to be! 😉
this one really is a long project
It is mate, there's a lot of work involved and a lot of ordering parts ha ha 😂
Im still here, my car is still in the garage it should be out anytime then i can bring it down and try the lucas maf and I also have the rovergauge software on a laptop, I haven't forgot I just need to get mine back from the garage ;-)
Ha ha no worries mate, we appreciate you helping, let us know when you think you may be able to get down 😉
Get in
Winner Winner!🏆 Thanks for getting the hole shot in the comment section Toon! Gotta be one of the quickest ever 😉 Hope you enjoy mate
@@TransformotionVR I know yous said not full restoration but it’s looking much younger now 👍 if you not fast your last 😂
Ha ha youre right there, 2nd place is just the first looser ha ha 😂 she's looking much better now
No new bushes, bearings and seals?
The bushes looked OK, it is getting new spheres as they're pitted and will be getting seals for them, not sure on the bearings yet
Great video lads 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 your mechanical skills are so much better than your presenting skills 😂 and that’s what makes you so watchable!!! I was going to say you’re the dogs bollocks but it seems a little unfair 🐶😞 hopefully your dog’s doing good 🤞🏻👍🏻
Ha ha 😂 you're not wrong! 🤣 yeah not the time for that saying ha ha but he's doing good thanks for asking mate 👍
I know how Gaz feels 😭
😭😭
