The Firefly Bush is such a genius compromise for the whole firefly dilemma. They give us the ambiance that we wanted, without implying that they are safe food for frogs! 🐸✨
And it is very realistic too ! i spent an entire summer near a swamp and i would find sleeping fireflies in clusters of reeds and other bushes near water, but i would only see them awake and glowing once the sun had gone down.
This is probably the best update they have dropped since 1.17 but here are some things that I thought would be cool: sounds for other biomes like birds, river sounds, ocean sounds, fruit bushes, fallen logs, and fungus and vines on trees. Gotta say, this is one of the updates that make the previous update feel "old." An Unmild Wild Update.
I’m so add that they are adding more biome diversity within the overworld, all these additions are so little but add so much, next I would really like to see Hollowed logs or shelf fungus next like in the Birch Forest concept art
Between the ambient firefly's and the way they did the desert sounds, they should do crickets next in a similar matter. Not as a new block but maybe if the new bush block is adjacent to a certain flower or something, we could get cricket sounds
i think the issue with the bush is it just looks like grass. it would be cool if when spawned/placed in a 2x2 area it grew to be a bigger bush or something like that! or just being able to connect them in different ways like the walls or fences so they’re more interactive.
Exactly especially given real bushes are much bigger, and there is plenty of ground cover as is and not very many plants that are in the middle range between flower and tree. I was hoping it would be more like the Azalea but it is fine for what it is.
That'd be cool or maybe if they could stack two blocks tall as well so you could have even more variation, also I'm assuming shears will be added as a tool and they'll drop 0-2 sticks when punched
Agreed. Maybe it should be darker or a block tall in height... Or both. Would be cool if you could apply bonemeal & it could grow into a juniper. We need more tall potted plants.
@@RoboBozo-d4p your right but the fireflies are just particles and no mobs could see them or interact with them there basically apart of the block. But i 100% percent agree with you and if it does change i will be even more excited lol
honestly i thought people would think mojang is laughing at people who wanted the fire flies mobs by making them bushes but so far i've seen everyone being positive about it THEY FORGOT MOOBLOOM
It's the ambience update we've wanted for so long. Maybe all the realistic add-ons and mods that have been coming out like realism craft is what finally convinced them it's something we want. This is literally all we wanted from the "wild"(mild) update
Now all we need is hollowed logs and tree mushrooms. And fallen tree generation in java. And we have the perfect ambience update we wanted from the wild update.
I hope to see fireflies in the pale forests, could act like another thing you could confuse as the eyes of a creaking, especially if you quickly see it out of the corner of your eye
I don't know, the Pale Garden is meant to feel desolate, or as if the biome itself is the only thing alive. Fireflies would make it a bit too lively in my opinion.
@@quentin13765 While they would be better than Fireflies, the point that I'm trying to make is the fact that the garden is devoid of life (Aside from the Creaking) is by design, and we don't need anything else there.
@Crafty_boy70 that is the same argument made for people who claim The End shouldnt get an update. Mojang is the one making the game, if they want they can add fireflies as ambiance and that doesnt ruin the biome at all.
I think these changes are great!! Now they just need to add new chicken and sheep varients to an extent. I also think like the cow, the sheep and chicken need a slight model change. Such as a snout, ears, visible tail for sheep. For chickens, they need to change the head shape so it doesn't look like a duck, gives it its warm varient for jungles, and gives it tail feathers, comb, etc. Lastly, I think all of the farm animals need a behaviour update. The sheep, cows, pigs, and chickens should all spawn in small or large groups with some sort of group behavior where they won't just wander aimlessly and might run away if you run or attack them. The chicken should also be able to make a nest where the eggs are laid on grass blocks, and the babies look different than adults.
oh that'd be so cool to see pack/group behaviour in farm mobs! as for the nests, I'd say maybe the "wild" chickens could still lay eggs around randomly but they could be attracted to player-made nests or at least hay balls to do so, when there is one around (maybe even we could see some brooding behaviour? eeeeh let's not get too excited, that'd be cool enough to have nests...)
@arsenelutin1734 I do think brooding behavior would be very cool as well for the chickens. The hay blocks also do make sense. I do think they should also change the texture for the temperate variant to be more wild for the farm animals. The typical variants can still be in the game but you have to breed them a certain number of times and in a certain way to get the domesticated varient or the normal og ones. It would also be cool if like foxes, cats, camels, etc if the farm animals could have laying down or sleeping animations.
@ I would *love* for breading to be a way to get more domestic/farm animal variants! That's actually something I thought about for dog breads before they introduced all the new wild variants (I mean, I'm happy with those but that means I'm still very in favour of more breading mechanisms) They'd be "secret colours", like for the axolotl! And yeah, more animations for the animals, all of them! (I'd also like different "staying" behaviour for cats, dogs and parrots, that'd be cool to be able to have them sleep/lie down and "roam around" in a small perimeter (but without following us) in addition to just sitting)
goats of temperate and warm varient would be a nice sight to see. Chicken I think would be a little bit different. First of we would get the warm varient but the cold one is no that different from the poultry. So I think ducks would come and even or black chicken can be an alt warm varient of chickens.Classic one would be in cold, and the reddish brown chicken as temperate.
I really love the new cow variants, but I hope Mojang will consider coding calves to be born without horns, since they never do in real life. I also hope the bushes get a little bit bushier, lol
Im a big fan of the fireflies being an ambient effect, but I wish they moved around a bit more randomly to make them feel alive. Right now they just feel like glowing dust particles, but imagine if occasionally darted around, and occasionally rested on the surfaces of blocks.
Flies could be possible if they add one of the corpse flowers into the game, or all of them and add them to the jungle along with some new ambient sounds
It's actually kinda interesting how the ambient sounds are sourced from the types of blocks around. I wish they'd do that for biomes themselves so we can create/destroy our own biomes
I feel like these new skins need 3D Ears. Feels off with them painted on. Works with the nose. I also think the forest could use some fallen trees/stumps in the new generation. Also some hanging roots spawning on the underside of dirt blocks in forest biomes. Other than that these updates are pretty spot on. Those fireflies are amazing.
Personally, that’s a big no for me. I already am not a big fan of changing the old models (adding new variants is fine), so adding these animated ears wouldn’t feel right. I love the old classic Minecraft designs, and we really haven’t seen much like them since something like the Strider. Modernizing the cows nose is already a bit unnecessary in my opinion, so I would prefer if no more changes were made.
@@parkaller7959 As an old Minecraft player, I like the changes done to the old models. The cow not having a nose always bothered me. I am hoping they do a major revamp on the chickens and expecially squids
I wouldn't mind older mobs being redesigned, I think some need it. Mojang could possibly resolve a lot of backlash if they kept the old models on a switch- such as how they have the programmer art texture pack or... something.
I think they could definitely make the fireflies more like they are in real life. Real fireflies aren’t always on, dimming every once in a while, they are usually dark and flash bright for a second. Sometimes they even light up in sink. I think that would be a lot more ambient and unique.
@@MinecraftPenguin8 Oh definitely, I agree. I'm more talking about the glow behavior. Instead of a gradually dimming light that they have now, being black with sudden flashes every 10-30s would be more realistic, and feel more ambient to me.
The bushes in the plains should have a chance to drop different types of seeds/crops so there's a natural ways to find stuff like carrots and potatoes, ect.
I think the warm cow and the cold cow should be passive aggressive when it won’t attack normally but if you attack it and if you hurt it then it will run away like normal but if you hit the cow a lot of times or hit it’s baby, or if you get to close the the baby cow it has a chance to attack you but only if you move to fast like sprint around the baby, but not to the death more of a scare tactic to make you back off before they run so it’s more of a dynamic to get your food
So many cows and flowers, if only there was a way to incorporate them together into a mob we knew at least 28% of the community would actively vote for in a hypothetical poll
I actually like how similar the bush looks to short grass, its subtle enough to just naturally blend in with what we've already got. Think it would be cool if we could smelt the bush to get a dead bush, like with leaves to leaf litter.
I always felt fireflies as a particle effect made more sense. They could have been a cool mob, but this makes more sense from so many angles. The one thing I'll say is, I love the bushes, but I think the forest one doesn't stand out enough, and needs to be more common. The issue I have with the leaf litter, is not how common it is, but how barren the forest floor is. I think vegetated biomes could use more than one sort of plant besides trees (Two bushes??) but regardless, feel like there needs to be more bushes than now, to break up the repetitiveness on the floor. Maybe a flowering type bush? Not necessarily a new flower bush, though that could be cool, but a new bush with some color on it. IDK. I think the forest hasn't come together yet. The desert and swamp got a good glowup with these additions. Yes I basically want the modpack Life In the Woods in vanilla. I think ambience is a huge thing Minecraft has needed an overhaul of, and love it. This update is so whimsical. I love the concept.
Hopefully they'll continue updates like this because there's so much left they could do. I'd love another berry bush, especially if it's one that doesn't hurt lol. Bigger bushes as well, I love the little bush but I'd really love a big bush. Even just some low laying plants would make such a huge change to the forest floor, it really is just way too empty.
There could be corpse flowers with fly particles in jungles. There could be cactus variants in the deserts. There could be various aquatic seaweeds and sessile invertebrates like anemones, sea pins, and clams in the oceans. There could be carnivorous plants in the swamps.
I think it would make better sense if you are only able to pick up a firefly bush with silk touch, and when you break the bush without silk touch, a mass of firefly particals explode out of the bush and not drop the item, kind of like your disturbing the flies. Also, it would make the item seem more special not having it so easily accessible.
Exactly what I wanted from the wild update is finally here. All that remains that I'd love are taller birch trees, shelf mushrooms and some sort of yellow birch leaves, which may be less likely but was seen in lego sets
I think birds would be a good add on for the sound and ascetic. I do like how we have new pig & cow variations..But I would like some more subtle ones, more so in the plans biome with different patterns or slightly colours,so u would still have more options in the more common biome😅
I really like how new update is changing just normal stuff around you making it fresh and not adding some new biom you will probably see once in your survival world.
They really listened! They added the long-awaited fireflies, made them cuter, AND made them tied to a block so we can have fireflies wherever we want!!! Im about to have some awesomeness wheat fields 😍
@@coffe3136 That would be logical but still I feel like they wouldn't due to wool, since sheeps with the new skin would have that simple white wool and probably wouldn't combine very well, I get your idea tho
@Nobody-sf4cv fair. I can visualize a black sheep but I have no idea what the third one could be, Especially if we take into account the cold and hot thing
There could be 2 bush variants, a large one and a smaller one. It could also be a little darker so that it doesnt look like it blends TOO much with the grass around it but also stands out.
THIS IS SO COOL!!!! Love this snapshot, i hope we get more ambiant sounds, plants, mob variants, etc... if theyre touching up the desert, id love to see the desert update happen that lost the vote that time. Agree with the firefly jar idea, that would be awesome!
This ir literally what we all heard and wanted from the wild update. But we got the mild update instead 😂. But seriously this update is great and we still haven't even seen everything yet. I just hope we can make a firefly jar lantern or decoration using the bush since it's an item already.
I hope they tweak the bush texture a bit as time goes on. It's cute right now, but it's also shorter than the dead bush and blends in so much with some of the grass colors that I could barely see it when looking for one on my own today. I hope they take some inspiration from the fully-grown berry bush and rework it's design just a bit.
Minecraft has to update the badlands next i think, they should add redwood trees at least. The oak trees with grass free dirt texture is so bad, I would get so happy...
Mojang is adding everything promised... and they started with 1.19 warden and biome vote swamp Then 1.20 Pots and archeology 1.21.1 bundles 1.21.5 fireflies and biome overall (birch biome ? + wild flowers) If they continue like that, in 2 years, they'll have nothing unfinished, and then, we'll trully get JAW DROPPING features. You'll see 😉 Oh btw edit : HOW MANY F UPDATES HAVE WE GOT OF THE SWAMP ! 1.19 subbiome / mangrove swamp 1.19 frogs 1.21 bogged 1.21.5 fireflies + leaf particule + (bush ?) It might become my favorite biome
I feel like bushes should be colored like oak leaves to make it feel more similar to berry bushes. Maybe do a similar thing with ferns and jungle leaf colors.
All this stuff with the ambiance sounds depending on the blocks, no matter the biome, reminds me a lot of artificial biomes from Terraria. Just imagine if Minecraft had that
It looks like the cold cows are definitely based on real-life highland cows. Not sure about the warm ones but they do remind me of some reddish-brown bulls I've seen
Wattles: What do you call an animal that has four legs and makes a mooing sound? Me: Oooh don’t don’t tell i can do this!! Umm 🧠⚙️📖🔎📐a Fox 🦊 !! 😃 Wattles: 0:05 Oh 😢
The bush definitely needs much more work, and slightly bigger I hope. I feel that th grass still overpowers it and makes it not visible at all. And the design is good, could really use a different tone
It makes sense for bushes to drop, because their stems would be thicker so they aren't like grass where if we try to uproot it, only the blades get uprooted
Yes! I've been saying all along there's no reason they can't do fireflies as particle effects similar to the Spore Blossom, and now they have! And it looks like reeds too which is PERFECT! O= \o/ ^-^ Now they just need to let us breed cows using the yellow wildflowers to create a Moobloom and it will be the best update EVER!
One thing i'm noticing is that the new plants drop even when punched, i think it would be better if we needed scissors for it (because of inventory issues), like imagine you use a water bucket and immediatly get surrounded with hundreds of items, like, the scissors requirement would help a lot inventory management.
Hope the Beacon Update will make it to Bedrock, too, where it ends at the maximum building height. I built a tower to the limit with the beacon inside and was surprised the beam ended with the tower. :/
Thanks for the video! I think it’s cool you can take the dead bush and put it on top of blocks to bring the ambient sound wherever you want. Great use for the bush plus big for people who go all out on builds
I think they will do the sheep, because the only thing that change for the variants, is the color of the wool. And I think they will add variants for them because there is definitely different type of sheep that are not only different because of their color of their wool.
5:39 They actually _did_ update the cow's legs; instead of every leg matching exactly, the left legs are now mirrored in comparison to the right legs. Compare it with the old render you showed at 5:51, and you'll see what I mean. Plus, the texture files for the cows and Mooshrooms have been expanded from 64-by-32 pixels to 64-by-64 pixels.

Nice

hi
I appreciate that they still preserve the old cow design even with then new model
i think the issue with the bush is it just looks like grass. it would be cool if when spawned/placed in a 2x2 area it grew to be a bigger bush or something like that! or just being able to connect them in different ways like the walls or fences so they’re more interactive.
Agreed. They should also fix tall ferns to occupy more than a block space, instead of being two blocks tall. Real ferns fan outward
The fact that we get fireflies (kinda) is awesome.
things could change, so fireflies HAVE been added, from the perspective that there are changes to things in development.
@@RoboBozo-d4p your right but the fireflies are just particles and no mobs could see them or interact with them there basically apart of the block. But i 100% percent agree with you and if it does change i will be even more excited lol
6:30 so the beacon now actually works like a beacon? Well color me surprised 😄
Ikr thank god it should have been like that
And don’t forget to color, your beacon
honestly i thought people would think mojang is laughing at people who wanted the fire flies mobs by making them bushes but so far i've seen everyone being positive about it
THEY FORGOT MOOBLOOM
Mooblooms were never announced
As much as I would love to be wrong about this, I don't think we're getting mooblooms in this update bestie 😭 maybe one day
moobloom, my beloved... i will avenge you
We are cooking with this update so far. Minute things, but crucial things
It's the ambience update we've wanted for so long. Maybe all the realistic add-ons and mods that have been coming out like realism craft is what finally convinced them it's something we want.
This is literally all we wanted from the "wild"(mild) update
@@_aWiseMan well said, mon ami. Well said
Now all we need is hollowed logs and tree mushrooms.
@Crafty_boy70then maybe moths would be a good inclusion
@@quentin13765 While they would be better than Fireflies, the point that I'm trying to make is the fact that the garden is devoid of life (Aside from the Creaking) is by design, and we don't need anything else there.
@Crafty_boy70Other mobs can spawn in the pale forest like pigs cows zombies etc
@
I would *love* for breading to be a way to get more domestic/farm animal variants! That's actually something I thought about for dog breads before they introduced all the new wild variants (I mean, I'm happy with those but that means I'm still very in favour of more breading mechanisms)
They'd be "secret colours", like for the axolotl!
And yeah, more animations for the animals, all of them!
(I'd also like different "staying" behaviour for cats, dogs and parrots, that'd be cool to be able to have them sleep/lie down and "roam around" in a small perimeter (but without following us) in addition to just sitting)
I assume chickens and sheep are next! Wouldn't make sense if they weren't lol
I do wish they'd add a 3rd fox variant... like a cross fox or something
I hope we get chicken and sheep variants as well.
Maybe even goats!
Goats are already in Minecraft.
Or were you talking about goat variants?
@lightsinthedarkness yes, as variants.
omg more birbs!!
But there is a sheep variant, like pink sheep, black sheep and gray sheep
goats of temperate and warm varient would be a nice sight to see.
Chicken I think would be a little bit different.
First of we would get the warm varient but the cold one is no that different from the poultry. So I think ducks would come and even or black chicken can be an alt warm varient of chickens.Classic one would be in cold, and the reddish brown chicken as temperate.
Warm cows look awesome. You could mix it in with a herd of regular cows to look like bulls
I really love the new cow variants, but I hope Mojang will consider coding calves to be born without horns, since they never do in real life. I also hope the bushes get a little bit bushier, lol
Firefly particles spawn in lower light levels, that is why you could see some fireflies at day time under trees, and in night everywhere
Im a big fan of the fireflies being an ambient effect, but I wish they moved around a bit more randomly to make them feel alive. Right now they just feel like glowing dust particles, but imagine if occasionally darted around, and occasionally rested on the surfaces of blocks.
1:10 you know sand particles in the air would actually be sick
11:35 “all of a sudden bam” actually had me say wow out loud when I saw
Now we need “Fly”. The other pixel that mojang refused to give with the firefly.
Flies could be possible if they add one of the corpse flowers into the game, or all of them and add them to the jungle along with some new ambient sounds
They should add a shitting mechanic into the game so that fly particles spawn around it.
they were two pixels, got removed, now they're added back but lost a pixel.
@@parkaller7959 They already gave them snouts so ears would not be too much more IMO
@@parkaller7959 As an old Minecraft player, I like the changes done to the old models. The cow not having a nose always bothered me. I am hoping they do a major revamp on the chickens and expecially squids
@@parkaller7959 Uhh.... Piglins...
I wouldn't mind older mobs being redesigned, I think some need it. Mojang could possibly resolve a lot of backlash if they kept the old models on a switch- such as how they have the programmer art texture pack or... something.
3:18 BULLS!! :0
Am I the only one who loves the new cow revamp?
And also I rlly like the fire flies, it makes the swamp feel more magical
I think they could definitely make the fireflies more like they are in real life. Real fireflies aren’t always on, dimming every once in a while, they are usually dark and flash bright for a second. Sometimes they even light up in sink. I think that would be a lot more ambient and unique.
I think it is nice that players can choose where the fireflies will go
@@MinecraftPenguin8 Oh definitely, I agree.
Right.
There could be corpse flowers with fly particles in jungles.
There could be cactus variants in the deserts.
There could be various aquatic seaweeds and sessile invertebrates like anemones, sea pins, and clams in the oceans.
There could be carnivorous plants in the swamps.
I love the new cow variants and the firefly bushes! I hope we get new chicken variants! 🤞🙏
And hope we get new sheep variants.
Qwabbity assurance
I think it would make better sense if you are only able to pick up a firefly bush with silk touch, and when you break the bush without silk touch, a mass of firefly particals explode out of the bush and not drop the item, kind of like your disturbing the flies. Also, it would make the item seem more special not having it so easily accessible.
that'd be so cool!
I hope we get other animal variants as well
Maybe sheep, chicken or maybe even the goat!
The 🐐 as in LeBron
Honestly I doubt we'll get sheep variants due to the wool color changing feature
@@Nobody-sf4cv I mean, they could just change the skin colors and leave the wool untouched.
I always wanted a Nature Update since the reveal of the Wild Update.
There could be 2 bush variants, a large one and a smaller one. It could also be a little darker so that it doesnt look like it blends TOO much with the grass around it but also stands out.
4:10 the baby's shouldn't have horns
It's an adult cow in disguise
Yeah must have heart mama cow pushing that out 😭😭😭
*babies
Literally exactly what I said when I saw it
Yeah and the fcat that they are of the same size as adults
THIS IS SO COOL!!!! Love this snapshot, i hope we get more ambiant sounds, plants, mob variants, etc... if theyre touching up the desert, id love to see the desert update happen that lost the vote that time. Agree with the firefly jar idea, that would be awesome!
3:40 wattles saved the day! 🎉
Good save.
The firefly bush? "YES! YEAH!" This fills me with joy.
This ir literally what we all heard and wanted from the wild update. But we got the mild update instead 😂. But seriously this update is great and we still haven't even seen everything yet. I just hope we can make a firefly jar lantern or decoration using the bush since it's an item already.
I hope you can use the firefly bush to make fireflies in a bottle amd then maybe be able to dye them so you can get different colors of lighting.
I absolutely love how they implemented the fireflies. The block it’s attached to is so pretty and can work in so many different biomes.
Hey, we got Fireflies, I’m happy! The beige looks really nice and could suit as other sorts of particles too- maybe ash for builds near volcanoes!
Mojang is adding everything promised... and they started with 1.19 warden and biome vote swamp
Then 1.20 Pots and archeology
1.21.1 bundles
1.21.5 fireflies and biome overall (birch biome ? + wild flowers)
If they continue like that, in 2 years, they'll have nothing unfinished, and then, we'll trully get JAW DROPPING features. You'll see 😉
Oh btw edit : HOW MANY F UPDATES HAVE WE GOT OF THE SWAMP !
1.19 subbiome / mangrove swamp
1.19 frogs
1.21 bogged
1.21.5 fireflies + leaf particule + (bush ?)
It might become my favorite biome
Not the birch forest improvement, just wildflowers.
It might be possible they add ambience to other biomes, if so that would be sick
I feel like bushes should be colored like oak leaves to make it feel more similar to berry bushes. Maybe do a similar thing with ferns and jungle leaf colors.
I wish there would be warm and cold variant chickens, sheep, horses and donkeys too
All this stuff with the ambiance sounds depending on the blocks, no matter the biome, reminds me a lot of artificial biomes from Terraria. Just imagine if Minecraft had that
It looks like the cold cows are definitely based on real-life highland cows. Not sure about the warm ones but they do remind me of some reddish-brown bulls I've seen
Their head is normal, horns are the problem, children cows shouldn’t have them at all (in real life they grow later on)
Bushes should be bigger, maybe not in hitbox (they should still be a block size) but in texture
Wattles: What do you call an animal that has four legs and makes a mooing sound?
Me: Oooh don’t don’t tell i can do this!! Umm 🧠⚙️📖🔎📐a Fox 🦊 !! 😃
Wattles: 0:05 Oh 😢
The bush definitely needs much more work, and slightly bigger I hope. I feel that th grass still overpowers it and makes it not visible at all. And the design is good, could really use a different tone
Finally a beacon works as a beacon! Now I’m more incentive to get it xD
I feel like bushes should stand out more, they look blue bubble coral but grass-fied.
Loveeee the firefly bushes! Just wish the regular bush was a bit larger. Either way, more foliage the better!
It makes sense for bushes to drop, because their stems would be thicker so they aren't like grass where if we try to uproot it, only the blades get uprooted
Minecraft is seriously imrooving so much
At this point Minecraft is giving each mob in the entire game a variant
The firefly bushes are going to be wonderful in cave bases
One thing i'm noticing is that the new plants drop even when punched, i think it would be better if we needed scissors for it (because of inventory issues), like imagine you use a water bucket and immediatly get surrounded with hundreds of items, like, the scissors requirement would help a lot inventory management.
I'm guessing this is a bug that will get fixed in one of the next snapshots, like the pale hanging moss was bugged to drop when punched at first.
Hope the Beacon Update will make it to Bedrock, too, where it ends at the maximum building height. I built a tower to the limit with the beacon inside and was surprised the beam ended with the tower. :/
Mojang beating the "work no more than 5 minutes " allegations 🙏
How? It’s just reinforcing it, everything added is literally just a retexture
Thanks for the video! I think it’s cool you can take the dead bush and put it on top of blocks to bring the ambient sound wherever you want. Great use for the bush plus big for people who go all out on builds
I think they'll update chicken next because they already did cow and pig. I don't see them doing the sheep because sheep's have tons of varents.
Happy day when fireflies are back
great day!!
I hope minecraft doesn't remove the #2 plant shown off in the vid(NO SPOILERS)
There hinting for an end i saw in the official minecraft server(its boring there)but i saw a small and big enderman sitting and they said just loungin around
If you played terraria when you place enought blocks the biome changes this time in Minecraft just add sounds when enough blocks are combined near eachother
