Ooooo they turned out gorgeous! The lighter color with the darker stain is beautiful! Fantastic job transforming these into much more gorgeous pieces! 😊❤
Love the depth the gel stain over the paint gave it. I’m with you and feel like many faux wood finishes can look not that great. This one looks beautiful, especially with the design of the nightstands😍
They are beautiful, another great work done, and you mastered the faux would look. It’s amazing what these every day products will do on used pieces of furniture. And even innovative products that elevate these used pieces of furniture to where they can compete with some of the top-of-the-line latest furniture pieces out there. DIY-ers have a true gift & talent! 🍃 I enjoyed this video. Keep creating & keep inspiring.
Love how this turned out. There was a furniture restorer who did this method long before everyone started duping pottery barn. It was his idea, but I like some of your own ideas too. Linda Beals.
Keep them girly! They look beautiful!! 😊 Thank you so much for sharing!! I’ve been very curious about that product, and I really like the added detail of using a small broom for realistic wood grain effect!
I was just thinking, "That looks like the Pottery Barn finish everyone is so crazy about." And you said, "Do you think they look like they could be sold in Pottery Barn?" Yes, I do. I think exactly that. They look incredible.
I agree that the wood grain tools look really fake. I like the way a broom or chip brush looks much better. You can even add knots with a chip brush, and they look real!
They look fake bc the people using them don't really know how to use them. I've done the faux wood technique and it can look very convincing. But you have to know how to achieve that look. It's not just using the tool. There are other things you need to do to make it look real.
Great job! What an improvement in the look! I am impressed how you used simple and straightforward technique to achieve the new look!!
Thank you so much!😊
Looks fantastic!!

Awww thank you so much! I agree with you. It’s pretty crazy how much a little bit of paint and some elbow grease can do for dated furniture. ☺️
Looks stunning they look so creamy 😊
Haha I guess they are!

They are beautiful. I am like you, I like this finish better than that other fake process!!!
It might work on certain pieces, jis not for this. ☺️

I’m not a fan of pottery barn look but you’re a nice dance came out lovely. I would love to have the secret pull out shelf on my nightstands.
Glad you liked it! I wish I knew that shelf was there a little sooner. It would have been nice. 😊
Wow! They are beautiful now! The faux wood looks like real wood. What an amazing transformation!
Thanks so much! 😊
Very lovely improvement! I humbly suggest that the hardware could be updated or else add a gold gilding wax to the existing hardware.
@@sarahschmidt4177 I definitely considered doing that, I might still do it ☺️
❤
What would you sell the set for? They look so beautiful and modern! Updated and elevated to 2024
I don't think it looks like the pottery barn technique. It looks more like a glaze. But I do like how they turned out. Nice job.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!
We can do the same technique with flat paint and stain,or satin paint and glaze right? Or not?
Hi! You could accomplish a similar look but not the feel that retique it has.
