I have a feeling I've eaten here before and no exaggeration, one of the best bowl of anything I've eaten in my entire life. Saigon pho tends to be a little more heavily spiced but as Gary mentioned, this restaurant's founders came down from the north where pho tends to be milder in flavour. But don't let my description fool you, the broth is simpler but it works so well.

    - Vietnamese: " PHỞ "
Pho is a traditional breakfast dish of Vietnam, which has existed for hundreds of years. There are three types of Pho: Beef Pho, Chicken Pho, and Horse Meat Pho. But people who eat horse meat are very few, so only beef noodle soup and chicken noodle soup are more popular. In addition, there are 5 Vietnamese medicinal herbs - combined with spices and concoctions to suit your taste, it's perfect. A bowl of Pho is the main point that the soup must be delicious, then it is a good Pho.

@@doodahgurlie oh well, the north is learning how to cook pho in the south ???? good
crazy, pho north k has aromatic vegetables, no sauce, not many things in the video :)). Northern pho is like a bowl of soup, nothing special and fishy with beef

@@tamtv805 Um, pho CAME from the north. So if anything, the south learned from the north then added sugar and served with more fresh herbs and extra condiments. Northern pho does come with condiments, but it's more like pickled sliced garlic and pepper...they don't add hoisin or sriracha. I don't get the fishy comment. Why would it be any fishier than the south?

@@doodahgurlie *Please have a little dignity :). Southern dishes are not as simple as the northern ones. Did you know that "dogs" can't eat sugar! Does eating a lot of dog meat make the North have this characteristic? Southern cooking doesn't just season with sugar - they balance the seasoning with 5 types: Sweet, salty, sour, spicy, bitter. What are the typical characteristics of northern dishes that you are proud of? Probably a dish with a bland taste instead of being sensitive to the aroma, bitter taste of herbs or the sweet and sour taste of sugar and fruit combined into typical Southern cuisine. lol, not good enough baby.*

@@tamtv805 Get over your southern pride, it's tacky...and you are one to speak of dignity. Pfff! I never argued with you are the sweet, salty, sour, spicy, etc., I said pho originated from the north, which you cannot refute. To brag about how the flavors are balanced, honestly, it's not necessarily true. There's too much sugar in everything in the south. Plenty of foreigners have mentioned how sweet the savory dishes are. Heck, you can't even distinguish what is a savory dish anymore since you guys are so heavy-handed on the sugar that what should have been a main SAVORY meal is practically dessert. Both the north and south could work on "balancing" their flavors better.

Pho is usually just too bland for my taste, but I would definitely try this one........the brisket looks too overcooked to me, but with that spicy, fatty scallion oil, those chilis, and all the fresh herbs, I think I get how good it tastes.....great for a hangover as a pick me up meal (I still drink a good deal of alcohol, but I rarely, if ever, get hungover - I think its in the DNA, lol).

Yeah this had so much flavour Willie. The brisket was so soft as it’s been simmered for hours. It’s easily the best I’ve had but I must admit, I usually go for Bun Bo Hue so I’m no expert!

@@theroamingcook Neither am I.....I figger if you enjoyed it, it couldn't be bad. Gotta remember, the only pho I've ever had was a sanitized version for US tastes. I need to order some more ingredients from over there. Just tonite, we're makin' our own pizza, which always comes out better than anything you could get in just about any place over here.

I wonder why when American people eat pho, they don’t add the hoisin sauce. It’s the staple sauce of pho.
