@Monkeyballmania The lyrics have been figured out quite a while ago =p "Take this harlot now this minute let there be a full report let her go back in the morning and then answer to the court" "Gentle Jesus, won't you save me? Are there tears enough to cry?" "It's the same pathetic story: 'please monsieur, my child will die..' " Hope this helps
I totally agree, I want to full-force SMACK this Javert in the face. I think I've found the Javert I'm thinking of before I sing this song in a Fantine audition this week...
@Monkeyballmania From the top of my head, significant differences were: Prologue (6th convict, though it's just Clive Carter singing two lines), Fantine's Arrest, The Runaway Cart, The Bargain, Look Down, The Robbery, A Heart Full Of Love, 2nd attack, Final Battle, the much superior and longer Dog Eats Dog, Suicide, Valjean's Confession and the wedding chorale. I'm forgetting some... Javert: "Go take him, I'll be waiting at the door, I have never known a man like you before. A man, such as you"
@Monkeyballmania Well, on a musical forum lots of people collaborated on finding out all the lyrics to this recording by intensive listening and manipulating the recording to be clearer on the vocals. The only things that weren't found out were the missing lyrics at the end of Attack On Rue Plumet by Thénardier and the lyrics sung by Enjolras, Combeferre and Courfeyrac in the final battle
@BernardtheBeanpole There is a recording you can buy (or download) of the entire musical with members of the original cast. It's called "Les Miserables: The Complete Symphonic Recording." It is the complete musical, note for note, song for song, and consists of 44 songs. It is available for download on iTunes, and it can also be purchased on Amazon. The lyrics you question are not on the original cast recordings, but they are on this recording.
The Complete Symphonic Recording Is an Studio cast Recording and releasing in 1988 (Known as the international cast, it was recorded with cast members from Japan, Germany, Australia, Broadway and London)
@Monkeyballmania It was on musicals.net, though the forum got cleaned up. On, I think, Chanvrerie . net, you can find the archive of the Les Mis board, look up the topic "Barbican Preview Transcript" and read through the whole thing. It's the most interesting thing ever :3
I believe it's approximately as follows: (CROWD) Take this harlot off this minute Let there be a full report Let her go back in the morning Let her answer to the court (FANTINE) Gentle Jesus, won't you save me? Are there tears enough to cry? (JAVERT) It's the same pathetic story Please monsieur, my child will die Then the rest is the same as the more familiar version of the number.

Why did they remove it?
Those are closer to the 1980 French lyrics
I love Javerts mockery when he arrest her. Total disgust with criminals.

Fun fact: Clive Carter would later play Javert!
no offence patti, but you could slow down some parts (eg "you let your forman send me away) i find it's more expressive when longer... but NICE JOB!
Fait amusant un dénommé gordon jouait grantaire le grand buveur et bamatabois
what was the lyrics of the extended bit with Fantine?
I believe it's approximately as follows:
(CROWD)
Take this harlot off this minute
Let there be a full report
Let her go back in the morning
Let her answer to the court
(FANTINE)
Gentle Jesus, won't you save me?
Are there tears enough to cry?
(JAVERT)
It's the same pathetic story
Please monsieur, my child will die
Then the rest is the same as the more familiar version of the number.
