We are a family of 4 on the adventure of a lifetime, caravanning Australia for our Big Lap! Hi guys, really enjoying your videos and love your easygoing casual style, very easy watching. We pick up our Dirt Roader in two weeks so interested to know what appliance issues you had. Also out of curiosity, are you tracking your fuel, and if so, how many kilometres are you getting per 100km?

We keep our kids occupied and off devices with a game that we start EVERY trip with. First person to see hay, yells "HEY", then we then look for a dam and yell "DAMN" and finally a public toilet and yell "CRAP". This game can take an hour or 10 minutes. Game restarts when the driver gets out of the car. We are all pretty competitive!

Hey guys! We sold our house and all our stuff and also Erin’s mum passed away and she got some inheritance money so we wanted to make the most of life with it!
We've been on the road 3 months and so far we are at $1269 pw. There's only 2 of us. Like you say depends on how you live what you like doing.
Yep! And that can vary drastically week to week depending where you are staying!

so here is a question, that i thought about when you mentioned getting a genny, and also you mentioned maybe getting some bikes in a previous ep, How do you think you are with your GVM/GCM/ATM etc now you have been on the road? I know you had to do a bit of shuffling prior to the trip to get yourself under. Have you weighed yourself again?
Great question!
So we are definitely not getting bikes now! For what we will get out of them it’s not worth sacrificing weight elsewhere!
Whenever we get something new (like the boat) we have tried our best to shed the equal weight to allow for it, we haven’t been weighed on the road but would like to at some stage to see where we are actually at now!

Do you regret having the compressor fridge? And if you had your time over would you have gone for a 3 way fridge?
That’s a hard one, it’s a fantastic fridge and it was standard in this van.
As for next time it just depends on the build and budget, if there’s enough battery/solar I’d keep it, if not swap for a 3 way
