You guys did Dr John!. "Right Place, Wrong Time". Try "Night Tripper" or "Walk on Guilded Splinters". Always love the Asia/BJ energy...
Dr John was a pure New Orleans blues musician very popular in 60s and 70s.
Muscle Shoals played their part.
Outstanding... And will always be the Queen of Jazz and R&B ... RIP Ms Etta and Dr John
In my humble opinion
Dr John’s RIGHT PLACE WRONG TIME is the jam!
Right place wrong time.. Doctor John..big hit😮😊
Asia & BJ, you'll love Etta's "At Last", "All I Could Do Was Cry", "Something's Got Ahold On Me" and "Trust in Me"!!
Etta got me through many times. Yes to all song suggestions
Dr. John was a New Orleans legend, from the home of the greatest music on earth.
As soon as you hear her voice, you know who is gonna belt out something great
When two singers can make you feel like they're really in a relationship and not just singing a song together you know they can not only sing but know how to tell a story and make you believe it.
Dr John is a New Orleans legend. Unfortunately this performance did not showcase his incredible piano playing. I suggest checking out his live version of Iko Iko.
One of my all time favorites. Would like this one played at my demise.
An icon. Her voice is powerful, soulful, and mesmerizing. 🔥
Have to do Dr. John's biggest hit, Right Place, Wrong Time
Dr John's Right Place, Wrong Time, is awesome.
Dr. John! The Late Great Mack Rebbenack! One of the best piano players & singers of New Orleans
One of my favorite videos of Miss Etta and DrJohn - RIP to both. Sure do miss them! Check out more from Dr. John.
Etta, Ella and Patsy were the towering female singers of the 20th century.
Yes, The late Great Etta James. I love the Horn Section on "Tell Mama" and of Course "At Last," got alot of Radio Requests. Thanks Asia & BJ.
Etta at her best: I’d rather go blind, live at Montreux!
Arguably one of the greatest voices to ever grace our ears. Sunday kinda love and At last are incredible as well.
Dr. John's the Night Tripper, a mystical singer/musician I remember very popular in the 60's. Cajun gris gris gumbo yaya..well worth a listen. Such a fun experience seeing him with Etta James!
You guys reacted to Jeff Healey about a year ago (blind guitarist who plays with the guitar on his lap). Dr. John was on the keys in that performance, and he killed it. Peace.
what a performance! special
Dr. John had a huge hit on the black stations in the early 70's. "Right Place, Wrong Time".
This is from BB King and friends. One of the best concerts ever: BB King, Albert King (two of the 3 kings of the blues), SRV, Clapton, Paul Butterfield, Etta James, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Dr. John, Billy Ocean, Phil Collins. See it!
It was all about the music. The two together 🎉 Saw her a lifetime ago in a small club in Cambridge ,the greats would play tiny clubs and I’m grateful ☮️
Ok. So I watched this special with my mom and dad on its original broadcast in 1987. I was 19 years old and I immediately fell in love with Etta James. Obsessed. Diva in every sense of the word. I was raised on the blues and up til then hadn’t heard much from her. Well I’ve made up for it since then. This special includes tons of famous artists… Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Billy Ocean, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Phil Collins, Paul Butterfield, Albert King… the list goes on. There are other songs from the special worth listening to, especially of the women who all take a turn solo and duet, then ensemble for Precious Lord, Take My Hand.
Love me some Etta James!! Appreciate you!
You may want to check out "Feelin Uneasy"... talk about goose bumps!
I've been watching you two discover music I've known all my life with great pleasure, but you've also introduced lots of stuff to me that I've never heard. This is one and I thank you for it.
Dr John does a duet with Riki Lee Jones called Makin Whoopie that you guys would enjoy...... Thanks for this one.....Etta's voice is amazing....
I had the pleasure of seeing her in concert in Atlanta in the early 90’s. It was unforgettable. After the concert she rode her electric scooter to the bus with a tip box attached to the front. She made sure to get her coins before she departed. Icon.
We named our daughter Etta, partly after a great aunt, but EJ was also an inspiration
My god what a voice! Hurts & heals ❤
I absolutely love this song!
YES... Captivating to watch her vocals... my lord!❤
Yeah SRV , Eric Clapton, Paul Butterfield, and a lot of the old blue's musicians were on that show. It was epic!
This is a classic song performed by two once in a life music legends. Truly great eternal music.
Never saw that one. I was wondering how her voice would hold up in '87. Then she let out that first note and I said "oh yes, there it is. Sorry I ever doubted you Miss Etta."
Lord have mercy that gave me chills up my spine.
Witnessing greatness!!!
Pay attention, y'all. This is how you create magic live.
I’ve watched a lot of your vids but this was TRULY special. Thank you for sharing.
Terrific performance. Dr. John’s big hit was “Right Place Wrong Time,” but he made many many terrific records.
She's amazing!! ❤❤ My favorite is "Somethings got a hold on me" talent!!
♥ I love this whole concert; been one of my faves since it came out. Try BB King's duet with Gladys Knight - Send Me Someone To Love, from the same concert. Be sure to watch to the end.
Dr John is a NOLA blues/ jazz icon .
R.I.P Etta James and DR John two greats....
Best concert I ever went to was Stevie Ray Vaughn with Dr John. and Joe Cocker.,Dr John is a real Honey Tank and Blues Piano player
Just FYI, Dr. John The Night Tripper, real name Mac Rebenac, was a New Orleans based musician who had a very prolific career up til the mid-2000's, he has passed RIP. His most famous song is "Right Place Wrong Time", which you will enjoy if you give it a listen.
Dr. John did When Your In Love With a Beautiful Woman. I believe. Great song.
My favorite performance of them!! ❤❤ all the feels !!
Etta James performance is the only one that matters. She hits you with that power and then throws in a WINK.
I believed it was the Beacon theater in early 1980 a mixed group of performers gathered for a charity concert Etta James, Donna Summers were two of several that appeared. A group in the audience were jeering and mocking Donna Summers and disco music Etta James interjected shouted them down pointed to Security and told them one more word they will not escort you but throw you out. She would keep an eye on them. It ended that fast. Etta told Donna whenever your ready.
The Blues ain't nothing but a bad man feeling good!! Swing Queen Etta Swing!! #DaBluesBaby🎤🎸🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶🔥🔥🔥👌
Etta james is always so fire she's such a sweet soul sister!!!!!
Dr. John ......Right place but at wrong time 👍
Wonderful , Wonderful Etta James ! You have to check out Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa live doing this incredible song ! Love the bones of ya
With BB King on Guitar what a combination!
The one that missed this one before they crocked. Definitely lost out.
Love Dr.John
Love Etta James but I remembered the Paloma Faith and Ty Taylor version live at the Prom. Ty was truly astonishing.
Dr John is playing piano in that live version of See The Light by Jeff Healey y’all did awhile back
I have a duet for you guys to do, and show you what this music is really about. Back in the day, and still happens sometimes today, but back then these artist had two different sets. The clean set and the dirty set. There is only a couple songs that were ever recorded that was dirty. So, they would play their show and after midnight for 3 to 4 hours they would play those same songs with dirty lyrics. Most people don't know that, here is one of those songs, that was recorded is this song, so please do it. Just to see, and you can also do the clean version. I think most people know the clean version, that know this era of music.
Jackie Wilson & LaVern Baker - Think Twice Version X
Etta is blues magic
Sweet! Thanks for sharing!
If there was ever a couple that needed to get a room...
For some reason I am feeling really old tonight and the older the songs tonight the better ! real music- 😀🥰♥🤎💜💙🤍
These two were made for each other...LoL! I love it!
You should watch this whole concert. BB King and friends. It's BB Albert King, Eric Clapton, SRV, Phil Collins, Etta James, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Billy Ocean, Dr. John, Paul Butterfield and the orchestra. It's fantastic
Apart from Elvis here's one singer my grandfather told me about her actually he had a crush on her can't say I blame my grandaddy reckon I would've also had I been around back then 👍
She’s the go on this but Beth Hart still kill it
I like that! From Philadelphia Pa. Time 8:10pm April 20th 2023
So we're gonna just ignore that was B.B. King? 🤨
Dr. John had a monster hit title, right place, wrong time.
Walk on Gilded Splinters - a Dr John classic.
Dr. John sings the theme for Curious George, but other songs as well. He is from New Orleans. Etta is a mess! Putting all that soul in every song she sang. She is so animated. I love it.
What a beautiful voice 😊
You need to make an appointment with the Doctor. Dr. John, The Night Tripper.
Another great Dr John song is Goin’ Back to New Orleans from the album of the same name.
Two of the best in the music business.
You need to listen to her song”At Last”. It’s my favorite song of hers.
Dr. John, yes indeed. 🤘😎
Etta learned to sing ballads from her mentor: Johnny “Guitar” Watson. Check out his funk period.
I believe it was the Beacon theater in 1980 they had a charity concert where several performers some of different music categories showed up. Etta James locked eyes with a group jeering and mocking Donna Summers and disco music. Etta let them know if they made one more remark security would not escort them but would bodily throw them out. She then told Donna Summers whenever your ready.
Etta is one of the best!
2 GOATs of blues and jazz. 3 if that MC is BB.
Dr. John is from New Orl. LA.
look for Sugar on the Floor
You guys reacted to Dr. John, almost a year ago. The song you reacted to was "Right Place, Wrong Time.
For the love of sweet baby Jesus!
Knowing Dr. John and where he comes from, a team of wild horses couldn't keep him from singing a duet with Etta James if he had the chance.
Check out Right Place At The Wrong Time by Dr. John!
I'm crying.
Truth!
I love you both and I love your reactions.
❤Miss Etta❤
Etta's great. If you like that rough powerful voiced stuff, you should try Koko Taylor sometime. Think Wang Dang Doodle is her most famous song, hard core old blues, think from Chess Records / Willie Dixon days.
The one and only QUEEN.
Need to listen to a bit of New Orleans music baby and you'll both be alright. If you got the chance please play "Right place wrong time" of you can. Not only can the brother sing funky but he also plays the piano pretty good. And just like that dame Aretha Franklin, he'll be smokin'. Adios Amigo. Adios.
Y’all have reacted to Dr. John before! He is a legend.
Etta James is so so so good! You love this? Check out Rachelle Ferrell, I can explain, live! You will never find another singer like her, I promise! ♥
Have to do Vesta "congratulatins" amazing singer
