My fave racquet of all time. Looks aren't the greatest, though the reverse paint job isn't bad. I recommend people try rpm rough 17 in mains and head hawk touch 18 in cross. Has some amazing feel on this racquet
My racquet of choice for the last couple of years but the 18x20 version! I’ve used the 16x19 pattern as well from time to time. Keep them both in my bag. Very solid review, on point besides one thing. It’s far from stiff IMO. I think it’s about 62 RA? Which is very low in today’s game. If anything I thought it was a tad too flexy but hey, to each their own. Slowly switching to the Gravity Pro right now though. Reminds me of the Blade but with a little more forgiveness, softer on the arm, and better spin and control. Probably because of the thin beam. I agree the Blade does need some weight and I use a leather grip as well. The paint is decent, but I like shiny racquets. The feel in hand is better IMO. Hopefully the next version they go back to the original black/silver color scheme and have a shiny paint rather than the matte finish. Thanks for the awesome content guys!
Thanks for the very detailed opinion on the racket! Areg was referring to the way it felt when he played with it. The racket itself is not stiff, you're right but because of the small head size if you don't hit the ball right in the sweetspot it can feel a little rough. Talking about the size of the head, that's why the gravity is more forgiving, it has a bigger head size (100) and the control comes from the string pattern, because it's 18x20. The Gravity Pro is actually my racket of choice and I really recommend it!
You guys need to make a video of you guys just aggressively rallying/playing baseline games. It’s so much fun to watch and you guys have amazing technique! Plus the camera you guys use is amazing
Great channel but the only issue I have with review is that he's reviewing the racquet from his perspective as high level tennis player. He might be able to get a best out of a racquet like this (its a demanding racquet) but 99% of people watching the video won't be able to hit anything like what being shown on the video and will struggle with this racquet. I'm a low 4.5 and post lockdown I find the Blade such hard work. If I played 3-4 times a week, was 5.0+, and athletic as these guys, then it would probably be fine, but everyone else need not apply! Great channel though, I really enjoy watching the tennis footage, just caveating your review! :-)
Thanks a lot for the detailed opinion! The Blade is definitely a demanding racket. As Areg said, it's pretty stiff. The more open string pattern helps a lot with power and spin though. The 18x20 blade is certainly a way more demanding and hard racket to get in to.
I think that has to do with swing technique, stiffer/heavier rackets require more proper techniques or it will put strain on your joints and takes more effort out of you
The Blade v7 98 16 x 19 has the best feel on the market for a player's frame. It has nice balance of power and control with a small amount of lead added to the hoop. The spin potential is good and comfort is superb! I have the reverse version with the lime green. Since I have been using the Blade my level of play has gotten better. It promotes good technique and footwork. Wilson hit their mark with the V7 Blade line!!
Great channel. You are combing humor with lots of serious play. It would be good if you could add number score to your reviews so we could compare your different views. Voting for Head Radical MP 2021 to be reviewed next / soon.
Hey, thanks a lot! That's exactly what our goal is! By number score, do you mean the score of the match we're playing? Or a scoring format for the racket itself? A review on the Radical MP 2021 is out! Go check it out!
@@gladiatorstribe I was thinking a numerical rating system for the frames similar to how AC Tennis rates his reviews (See his "Battle of the Giants" review of Pro Staff, Blade, Clash 98). That would help quantify and compare your three opinions on the frames (coming from the different playstyles you represent, which is important).

Muchas gracias!!
Hello grilla, I would like you to upload a video on how to customize rackets. I always see that you would add weight to your liking. I see you from Argentina!
@@gladiatorstribe I mean, if you only cut the shots where everything is looking good, then you are looking good...at least this is what I do for instagram😂😂
Grisha i have a similar playstyle compared to urs just wondering what to do when theres too much topspin to the ball that ima receiving. caus sometimes i failed to control topspin balls to the court due to my flatter swings great video
There can be many reasons to that. Because there are very many different types of topspin shots. I'm assuming you're referring to the ones that come deep and push you back. If that's the case, that means that you're not moving your legs enough. Therefore you don't have time to approach the ball with a comfortable stand to hit it flat. When playing with topspin you can kind of save yourself by flicking the wrist and putting the ball back in the game but playing flat you gotta move move move!
Well I like the looks..and Shrek..and especially The Donkey.. though I did find this racquet underpowered and too light, but I only played with it for 20min or so
Looks are really subjective, so there's really no point in arguing about them. Impossible to make a racket with a design that everyone will love, or hate actually. I (Grisha) get why you would feel like it's underpowered (it's definitely not a missile launcher) and I totally understand why it felt light to you. I don't think there's a racket that I wouldn't add some weight to.
If you compare this with Pure Drive 2021 and Pro Staff v13 which one you will recommend for Intermediate player looking for maneuverability, spin and power? Thanks!
I (Grisha) would undoubtedly recommend you get the Pure Drive. The pro Staff definitely loses in terms of power and spin to the Pure Drive, as it's more oriented towards control. Comparing the Ultra and the Pure Drive side by side, the Pure Drive outperforms it in every aspect in my opinion.
@@gladiatorstribe I'm currently using Ezone 98+( 2021). I don’t get enough maneuverability(because of the higher swing weight i guess) and spin from this racquet. Do you think Pure Drive 2021 might help in this case over the ezone 98+?
Hey, I would put most of it on the head of the racket, maybe on the sides of the head to make it a little more stable on the contact. Also some in the grip for sure. I would try different combinations to see what fits me better. If you're planning to put some weight on your racket I'd recommend you try different weight placement and distribution to see what suits your game better. That's the best way to tune your racket, trial and error 😉
Can you compare the Wilson Blade with the Head Gravity Tour? I think they are both great rackets but just cant decided wich one to get. Can´t demo unfornately...
The Blade offers quite a bit more control compared to the Gravity Tour. Also the head size is smaller so you get more feel but less forgiveness, due to the smaller sweetspot. If you want a control oriented racket that doesn't feel "too control oriented" and allows for a higher margin for error, go with the Gravity. If you want more control and feel, the Blade is the way to go.
Well, the Yonex is gonna give you more power and spin because of its string pattern. While the Blade 18x20 is a more control oriented frame. Even though they have the same head size, they don't play the same. Want more control? Go with the Blade. More of a power and spin person pick the Vcore. Also which one do you think looks better?😉
Hello from the Philippines! I love the videos. They’re all very insightful and unique from the other tennis channels. I was hoping you guys could help me out and give me your opinion. So I’m planning to upgrade my racket, and narrowed my decision down to this (Blade 98 v7) and the “Pro Staff 97 v13” (which you guys reviewed as well earlier). Which would you guys recommend for me if I’m coming from the old “Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex”? It would help me out a lot. Thanks!
Hey there!! Thanks a lot, really appreciate your positive feedback! Honestly speaking if you've narrowed down your choices down to these two, I would just try them out and see which one I prefer. Do keep in mind that both of those, are control and feel oriented, unlike the Aero that's more of a spin oriented frame.
Thanks for replying! I’m trying to get my hands on them, but there aren’t really any demo programs here, so it’s pretty difficult. Would you say that the Blade offers more spin and is better for an aggressive baseliner?
Well, the blade will offer you more spin (if we're talking the 16x19 string pattern). They are both great for aggressive baseliners. Though if you want something more spinny I'd go with the blade.
There isn't such thing as the best! It's all based on what you want from your string. Power, spin, control, feel, durability etc. Based on that you could find the perfect string for your game style.

Just finished the Clash review and it seemed pretty high rated from your entire squad. Getting confused with the line up because there are so many variations of the Clashes. Would be great to know how you would compare the two and what level of players are they for. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Well, those are really different rackets. The blade is harder to get into because of the thinner beam and smaller head. It's also very control oriented. The clash is really popular among club players because it's very soft on the arm and very forgiving. That's pretty much the way it is, the clash 100 is better for beginners and the blade series better fits the advanced players.

Hey, quite a few, some head and babolat frames also got a few requests on yonex. The speed pro is a great racket, I used to play with it so doing a review on it would be pretty exciting.
Well if you want more power, most of it to the head and some to the grip. Roughly 8/7. Looking for more control, then the opposite, more weight to the grip 4/11. I'm estimating but the best thing to do is to try and see what fits you best.

Hey, quite a few, some head and babolat frames also got a few requests on yonex. The speed pro is a great racket, I used to play with it so doing a review on it would be pretty exciting.
Where would you add the 15 grams? Just out of curiosity?
Well if you want more power, most of it to the head and some to the grip. Roughly 8/7. Looking for more control, then the opposite, more weight to the grip 4/11. I'm estimating but the best thing to do is to try and see what fits you best.
Can you do a review on tecnifibre T-fight 305rs . thank you
We do have a lot of rackets in line to review but we definitely will!
@@gladiatorstribe thank you 😁
Guys, I'm from Russia, I don't know English well, I use a translator
I'm 23 years old, a beginner and I'm going to go to professional tennis (I know it's late, but I can't be stopped)
Now settled on the choice of Wilson Blade 98 v 8 (Coming soon) and Babolat Pure Drive 2021
What would you choose? Based only on your opinion and experience?
Help me a lot, thanks
Challenger
Pls, review ezone 98 tour!!
Something is coming soon!! 😉
Best Blade review i saw
Huge thanks!! Really appreciate it!!
How many grams would u add?
I (Grisha) wouldn't add much. I would say maybe around 7 or so.
@@gladiatorstribe ok thank you
@@brytonace No problem 😉
What string?
7:57 😉
@@gladiatorstribe which better, babolat rpm blast? Or Lux alu power?
@@muhammadherjuno5565 I (Grisha) definitely prefer the Alu.
I think I'm the only one who loves the design
Not the only one!! Definitely in the minority I would say 😂😂
i much prefer it over the v8
You guys are really skillful , are you guys like college players or in even higher level?
Thanks!! We're not playing in college, we play futures and UTRs and stuff like that 😜🎾
poor Alvaro :( way to do him like that in the intro
😬😬😬
I actually think the design is pretty good, but there are a lot better designs out there
That's fair 😏🤭
I have a spare v7 18/20, I havent used it much but if you guys wanted it for another review, id be up to sell or trade it with you guys, I'm really just trying to get rid so if not you guys ill sell it on ebay or something
Thanks for the offer but we can find one here.
