Bird mites. Very common in wild birds and part of why you don't want their nests in/on your house. Once the birds leave the nest, they can get into your house looking for you or your pets to get a snack from. :/ If you have pets, make sure to get them checked at a vet in the near future especially if they're scratching a lot.

Bird mites only affect birds. They will not bite humans.

@@knottybead4871 Unfortunately, not true. They will bite you but will not survive on our blood or pet blood. They do need bird blood to survive but they will bite pets and people.

Bird mites will feed on humans but do not live on humans as they cannot complete their life cycle on humans. Therefore, infestations are generally self-limiting if birds and nesting have been eradicated. www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/wps/wcm/connect/public+content/sa+health+internet/conditions/bites+stings+and+pests/bird+mites+prevention+and+treatment#:~:text=Bird%20mites%20are%20naturally%20found,mites%20can%20cause%20severe%20irritation.

There are natural sprays that won’t hurt the birds or eggs that you can spray the nest with. Not sure if it’s eucalyptus, mint or some other remedy. I heard about it so long ago I forget what it was. Do the research. Spray nest once remove eggs. Next year will be better.

I was wondering what they kept pecking at when they came to the nest.

So you don’t have some lemongrass spray nearby or in the store now you have to,buy an incubator and maybe a supersonic device to,disrupt these dirty insects

I believe there are many elements that contributed to this outcome including the bugs. If you watch the first couple episodes, you might see some of the other elements that also contributed

I don’t really know but they are so small, you can only see them from a zoomed video. I couldn’t see them with my own eyes
