A great way to formalize a company’s purposes, goals, and values is to have formal mission, vision, and values statements.
The Mission statement addresses the question “Why do we exist?” or “What is the fundamental reason for our organization’s existence?”
The Vision statement describes the desired future position of the company and answers the questions “What do we want to achieve in the future?” and “Who do we want to become?”
A company's values are the guiding principles for the way it expects its employees to behave.

Cheers for this, been searching for "what does realistic mean in smart goals" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Ponlijah Memorable Preponderance - (do a search on google ) ? It is a good one off guide for discovering how to maximize your life using a simple goal setting strategy minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my m8 got amazing success with it.

I think the mission is created from the company's capability and the purpose exists, say: company X has the ability to create agricultural products according to clean technology, then company X's mission is to provide clean products. I think that's right?.

Some of those Mission Statements were SO bad. Guess....Coca Cola....yikes. These are billion dollar companies with bottomless resources and they come up with that word salad?
