Made in Fleetwood, Lancashire too! Not too far from the town I live in
Yeah, it's pretty easy to find in my local chain grocery and drug stores (US). It's not a "candy" flavor like the Halls ones, but it does the job when you're desperate.
I've known about them for a long time but I'm in Canada so maybe it never made its way over to the states. Looks like they kept it mostly in the UK until the 60s when they started to expand

Fisherman's Friend has been around the Midwest for decades. I've always considered them old timer's cough drops. Sort of like grandma's circus peanuts and rock candy sticks, and butterscotch hard candy.
Fisherman's Friend lozenges have been around since the late 1800's and they work amazingly for me. Just because they aren't a big brand you don't know about, Steven, doesn't mean they aren't worth trying.

I literally ordered 6 tacos and curly frys from Jack and a Crack this morning after seeing the dentist!!
bro as a hispanic jack in the box tacos are the best especially when you are high. just put some cholula on them and done. it's not meant to be fresh tortilla, grilled meat, cilantro, salsa verde tacos or yummy street tacos it is fast food. also steven i dont think they intend it to be vegetarian my guy it's like oreos. Oreos are unintentionally vegan cause it's cheaper, animal products are more expensive most of the time than vegetables and grains so i wouldn't be surprised if jack in the box opted for fake or soy meat for those tacos just cause it's more affordable than ground beef.

don’t really know if u care about internet opinions, but i haven’t gotten sick in like three years (not exaggerating, and I used to get fever EVERY year in the winter. plus regular colds) but i read a book on it and vitamins make all the difference. seriously, vitamin C (like 2000mg when u r sick), D3, minerals, fish oil, magnesium and B, like pharmacy quality, - you’ll be a different person in a week. And then take them regularly. If this gets ignored, oh well, great podcast guys thanks! ❤😊
I feel like we shouldnt be taking vitamins though. Shouldn't we be trying to incorporating this in our foods rather than taking 30 different pills?
@@jessw391 Totally, I’m super about nutrition and healthy foods and stuff. But honestly I’ve tried both and adding supplements makes a big difference. Nowadays unless you eat all kinds of foods in one day every day in the right doses (which is really hard to fit everything, nearly impossible really) we need to supplement the difference. Plus our food quality is much worse nowadays to supply for the crazy demand, so less vitamins there too.

On the twister movie note, I chase storms, and I’ve chased behind Reed Timmer, formerly from the tv show tornado chasers and he worked on the movie twisters (primarily for accuracy) and I’ve been super excited for the new movie learning what I have about naders and knowing that Reed is the craziest (but nicest) guy in the industry who has been INSIDE more tornadoes than almost anybody, if not anybody. So it should be pretty awesome. And on the note of chasing behind him: I don’t recommend it. He said he would take us to it. He drove his Subaru right into it. Poo came out of me.
I would like to get in one of those tubes. But I would imagine it’s not a very similar feeling. I feel like I would just be a 34 year old overweight, loose skin male version of that famous Marilyn Monroe picture. Probably would look like a giant flying squirrel.

I cannot believe Shane, from Chicago, has not heard of Fisherman's Friend! I'm from northeastern Ohio and they were staples growing up. It's kind of like the Corn Huskers Lotion of cough drops.
I first heard of fisherman's friends through Canadian friends. Never heard of them before that tho. Very on-brand for Shane.
This episode was so good
jack in the crack tacos are always soggy in the middle and crunchy around the outer edge due to the greese or meat juice soaking into the crunchy shell, the "meat" is more of a mush/paste. And they are usually always luke warm. But when your are drunk or super high they smack

Fisherman's Friend is my go-to candy/lozenges, especially for travelling. My favorite flavors are cinnamon, lemon, & spearmint/mint. I don't think it's as popular as Mentos or Maxx but it's available in almost all drugstores/pharmacies and groceries here in the Philippines.

There’s a place in Indiana called Pizza King where they deliver your drinks and pizza by train. I don’t know if it’s still open but I always remembered enjoying it.

Sunny Delight has oil in it 🤣 look at the ingredients. Shane I have heard of and used Fisherman’s Friend cough drops. Vitamin D is in milk and sunshine. Vitamin C is found in all citrus fruits. Keep up the Great work guys!!! Feel better soon Shane.

My mom LOVES jack in the box tacos! If we travel anywhere near Charlotte nc she's got to stop and get a bunch! She's from Texas and so when we visit family we go to that and whattaburger 😂
Honey is good for a cough and I use a small (like 1 cup) humidifier with a few drops of tea tree oil near where I'm sitting or sleeping will open you up.
Shane has a cat, so sadly tea tree oil is probably not an option, as it's toxic to cats (maybe dogs as well? Idk about pups, since I only own a cat)
@@T.Florenz i believe most essential oils are toxic to most animals, partially bc of their small lungs. but yeah tea tree around a cat isn't a good idea. same thing with candles!
