Im running a bass 5k and i like it but i feel like my old hd3k was more aggressive sounding for some reason. Im actually installing 4 15 black diamond dia t15s in my trailblazer today but it just started raining of course

I ended up getting the 15s in and wired up to check all was working right but still alot left to do the stock electrical absolutely does not like the bass5k especially running .5ohms smh. So low low volume until i can get my electrical together. I wanna see your tbss when you get your system in it.
I've used and Orion HCCA 15" and an mmats 4000.1 for over 8 years now. I have just recently switched to an fi audio neo 4.11 15. It sounds so much deeper and harder than the Orion sub. Just yesterday I rewired everything in my 2009 scion tc and took out the mmats and put in a taramps smart 8k bass. I have only drove into town so far with the taramps hooked up and it definitely needs adjusting. I was gonna buy the surge audio ps7000, but they haven't been in stock since I have been looking to buy a new amp and they said they don't know when they will be back in stock as they are making changes for it to be more stable at .5 ohms. I was sketchy about buying the taramps, watched and read tons and tons of reviews before settling on the smart 8k bass. At 8k watts across several different impedances i believe is the future. I hope I can get it dialed in soon and it lasts just as long as my mmats amp did. I have even plugged the positive into the ground and the ground into the positive and the mmats still works. Just blew a fuse in my distribution block but its fine. I also use the pro 641 from mmats as well. Also just took out the mmats eq as well and use a LAF dual bass knob for volume now. I loved mmats, but they just quit innovating
I did a 145.7 on a single U15 v1 stock alternator, big 3 and second battery using the taramps smart 3. I since upgraded to 2 U15 v1's and switched to taramps smart 3 bass and now have a 300a high output alternator from brand x electrical. Haven't metered yet.
Only problem is the SSF. It rolls off the lows starting around 35hz even with it turned down all the way. Besides that they sound great and are reliable 💪🏽
if you like the md series you should try out the smart amps i have 2 of the smart 5ks and there wired to 2 ohms and they absolutely slap my 4 sundown xv2 15s around
I have never used Taramps b4....I believe they're good amps & more on the budget friendly side & need a lot of juice so your electrical need to upgrade keep them happy......my brands amps are JL Audio (HD) & Rockford Fosgate (Power).....will be trying the JP brand soon.🇯🇲
I'm really surprised u only hit a 146! That's what my Mercedes does with 2 Xv3 12's on a smart bass 5k. I got lithium and alt too tho. I think u can squeeze a 150 outta that for sure bro!👏

You should try the taramps smart series. I have the taramps smart 3 bass wired down to .5 on 2 sundown U15 v1's. Going to upgrade to the smart 5 bass next year.
How do u hook up that 5k do u put a fuse on each power cable. Do you hook up power to the same battery same with grounds . If u can . Can u do a video on it . Nice set up thank you
You need high output alternator first. I have a 370 from Autotech Engineering. I have 3 agm batteries, one under the hood and 2 in the back. I have 3 runs of 0 gauge ofc with a 250 amp fuse on each wire under the hood, no fuses in the back. I'm running Sundown sfb5000, sfb500.4, and sfb200.4 and I have no issues. A stock alternator will not work. My amps never go into protect. Power wire is expensive. Do not run cca power wire. I have big 3 and 2 zero gauge power wires running off the positive post of my high output alternator. I have 3 zero gauge grounds under the hood and in the back. Remember that your serpentine belt needs to be about .75 inch shorter than your factory alternator belt.

I have the 5000.1 2ohm model myself and I'm super happy with it. Driving a couple of 15" Hammer Tech HCW subs, and it tears up my ride :D
