thanks 😊 It used to be so difficult to get; then the market was flooded when we pulled out of Afghanistan... now it's getting difficult to get again, as it's being sent to Ukraine.
Joseph Gillon - you are correct to the point of no pouches being on the front anymore; this particular one was made in the 'full order' one and is how it's depicted on the instruction. However, pouches are no longer officially worn on the front
Just a question: I have this same vest, but I run it as slimline as possible without the shoulder and neck protection. Up on the shoulder strap, on the inside I noticed a little Pouch with a square section of velcro. Any idea what this is used for? I only use this for Airsoft and never been in the military, hence my lack of knowledge
Think it’s for a military Invisible strobe so aircraft know who is the good guys n who is the bad guys. Don’t think you can buy them n if u don’t plan on calling in air strikes u probably don’t need it.
I preferred it when body armour was worn over webbing. The webbing allowed for more ammo, water and other miscellaneous items. Med kits radio's and other admin was then worn on the armour. They were the days.
The fsb in Russia have something similar where they wear their smersh webbing over body armour. It is a lot better when webbing and armour aren’t combined into one
Nice video of the Osprey MK4! I would have one questrion and was wondering if you could help me clear something up that i was wondering about since i first got one of my own. On the right shoulder pad ist a little pouch. Do you know what this one is for?
it is not banned under the terrorism act. The UK has no rules on body armour and anyone can buy/own armour, including ballistic plates up to and including Level 4 armour However, the reason you not meant to have military plates etc is because technically it still belongs to the MOD, and can be confiscated from you.
ebay usually - generally a full set (1 bomb collar large, 1 bomb collar small, 1 left shoulder/arm brassard, 1 right shoulder/arm brassard) for arround £45. However, with the end of Op Herrick they are becoming rarer
Tremulousnut unfortunately I only have the small plates - large plates cost around £200 a pair and genuine Osprey ones are not released for public sale
Iwasthemilkman I was told it is possible to get the osprey plates from NP Aerospace provided you have the credentials as a contractor/news crew/aid worker/etc. The specs are same, has the NSN and everything, but it's not in the green nylon shell (civilian version is black or navy, can't remember) and doesn't have the broad arrow/crows foot.
Bravo Company It is unlikely that I would sell it. I had about 5 earlier this year - 2 were sold; one is on a mannequin; this one is used for displays and the other is for film/tv Because of the almost mint condition of this one and the fact that it has all the ancillaries the value is quite large - there is around £200 of armor in it alone
That I don't know the answer to, but I'm sure it's not a problem. There are entire companies dedicated to selling this stuff. Like this: www.firestormkit.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=157_382_368&product_id=2052
+Brooklyn Cummings They have the word restricted printed on the bottom of every page. For that reason I don't want to show them in detail, plus I'm reviewing the plat carrier
I like how you add in what pens you have in there...
Hey just so you know your videos really help people interested in osprey kit in England I hope you keep it up.
thanks 😊 It used to be so difficult to get; then the market was flooded when we pulled out of Afghanistan... now it's getting difficult to get again, as it's being sent to Ukraine.
Just snagged one of American Pipedream for $120 with a bunch of the pouches, thanks for the vid!
Hey same!
I've got a mk 3 only i just can't seem too get the main front and back plaits for it
Sadly, you wont. The armour for the MK1, 2 and 3 were always taken back and never sent to surplus depos
Great vid, really weird coincidence I had a look for Osprey vids the day this came out haha
XxxCrustybarxxX
I'm glad you liked the vid :)

better late than never .... ear-plugs
I own the same armour and was wondering what the small pouch is used for on the right brassard??
Well now you know 😊 you can also fit half a pack of chewing gum in there
The review I have been looking for
Could you provide the item number for the hard armor and trauma plates front and rear?
NSN: 8470-99-977-9889
Great vid!! do you know were i can find front chest plates from ,that will fit the ospey mk4?
You cant, banned by counter terrorism act
+Matt Collyer Thanks for the reply dude . I appreciate it , stay safe...
+Matt Collyer really? I just though it was something to do with Ospery not wanting their ultra thin kevlar to be ripped off

OK Thanks for the reply man... :)
Strange I thought the order was no ammo pouches on your front in case of a IED going off, and your ammo launches into your face
does anyone know where I can get the kevlar for the brassards shoulder pads and collar?

How did you acquire the vest
eBay
Does it have kevlar in the shoulders?
Yes, although most soldiers actually remove the armoured brassards as they caused mobility issues with the arms.
Aww, I really like to see the large plates...
Tremulousnut unfortunately I only have the small plates - large plates cost around £200 a pair and genuine Osprey ones are not released for public sale

yes, if you have the credentials, you can get them - any old civilian can't get them
Are you selling it?

Why would you wear a pouch denoting EOD when you are a civvy
It's cool
I'm really curious to know the legality of these thing. I really don't want to steal from actual troops.
And I don't really see replicas on the market. Sorry, I'm an airsofter.
You can buy ex-mod ones all over the internet, some for very cheap actually. They're not illegal at all.
Sgt C4 Thanks! How would I know that they are really surplused by the MoD though?
That I don't know the answer to, but I'm sure it's not a problem. There are entire companies dedicated to selling this stuff.

It's all surplus mate. We have the new Virtus body armour now
If I may ask if the cards are restricted why have you got them?
+Brooklyn Cummings They have the word restricted printed on the bottom of every page. For that reason I don't want to show them in detail, plus I'm reviewing the plat carrier
Nice vid :)
dat rug tho... :3
+Rusty thanks :)
Hard plates are illegal!
I’m the uk anyone can own hard plates as long as they aren’t over level 4
Anyone know where you can get the sling attachment for the mark 4?
eBay would be your best bet, you can also check out Semma4 - on eBay and Facebook/online - they're my local military surplus store
