@@AnvilAirsoftTV just seeing your osprey makes me sweat, I tried one on in a shop once and I'm still on the fence about whether I'd rather be shot or suffer heat stroke in a desert.
Love it! I made some foam plates like that a while back for my JPC, then went a little heavier using the same template on a heavy rubber mat (1 inch thick recycled rubber "stepping stone" from a garden centre) for a bit more weight, you can also use a single layer of foam and a plastic chopping board to create a smaller "hard plate" with a soft armour "backer"
Those black plate covers you pulled out from inside the plate pockets look pretty full of hard plates to me, I don’t personally have the black covers for the plates but don’t think they are that thick or bulgy without plates in them. And they are incredibly rare on the civilian market and go for a pretty penny, last ones I saw sold went for something like 600 for just the front, and other 600 for the back.
Good stuff as always Tom. We used a similar idea for my sons and plate carriers, they didn't want to spring for the training plates. LOL We had some 1" closed cell shipping foam sheets we used. Worked great. Hope the lock down ends for all of you across the pond soon! Supposed to play here tomorrow but looks like bad weather coming in sadly.
End of the month for us. Some more role play based events will be a bit later on. The biggest thing for the channel is that the range will open. I’ve got quite a back log to get through.
I was thinking of using the thin airsoft gun packing foam top sheets all over but mainly the sides of the pc to make my pistol side firmer. Do you think one layer would be enough?
@@AnvilAirsoftTV I leave the pc a little loose on the sides due to the old middle age spread so looks like it'll be a bit of trial and error to see if one layer of the packing foam works.
Did they get in touch with you? I've ordered 2 sets of custom ones and wasn't able to contact them about the status of my order for almost half and a year now. I got no replies on the emails I've sent them.
I was not sure you could beat that intro but that outro was genius 👌
Hah glad you enjoyed.
Holy shit, this is an incredible idea
Between you and mr Kiwi you're spoiling us.
He's a Jolly Good Fellow!

@@NM-wd7kx It's horrible :) I've got some interesting comments about it from chaps who had to actually use it too.

I had some polypropylene cutting board plates in my Russian Fort armour. Heat formed to shape as well.
The amount of older men that would stay to watch the video just because they saw the intro 😂😂
Been Watching too much old Smutty comedy.
Laugh at your own joke
Tom i would buy a ice plate for the rear just for the summer
It’ll fit a medium Sapi sized one. The soft armour is under the plate bag though so would block much of the effect.
The intro was the best!!
Ok you owe me a new keyboard, spat my coke out laughing at the intro! 😉

They had my steel training plates in at the time.
great DIY guide

@@AnvilAirsoftTV the end is in sight then. That's good news. Looking fwd to more range testing.
Did the same with my old roll matt. Got me thinking though, all this can result in not feeling the bb impact.
Not for inexperienced players. We’ll be discussing this and more issues with plate carriers in an episode soon.
@@AnvilAirsoftTV Forgot to add , good video. Always enjoy your content. Keep up the the good work. Favourite airsoft channel, by a mile.👍

Depends on what you what really. Anything will help it hold shape better.

@@AnvilAirsoftTV lol.
How do i know which size osprey I would need? Im 182cm tall and chest size is 57cm in the front and 122cm all around.
Thanks.
They are sized in height and chest size in cm. For example 180/120.
@@AnvilAirsoftTV ok thanks.
Would 190/120 be to large? (I haven't seen 180/120 only 180/116).
Thanks.
I’ve got a 190/120 and it’s massive. Though they are designed to go over outer clothes so have a lot of adjustment. You should be fine with a 180/116.
Normally a blue pill helps grandad I heard. Don’t know if anyone else needs this tip.
0:04 what do you what do you mean by that?
Keep watching and you’ll find out!
In Iraq we called it the Osprey diet for a reason. You were soaked in it.
😂
I tried to order those Travail plates... unfortunately, they were unable to ship due to covid and brexit and stuff, a real shame!
Really good product. That’s a big shame.
