I was on 15mg a day of Suboxone (Bupenorphine) for 10 years... I started tapering for 1.5 yrs. Down to .25 mg a day. I jumped off a month ago... 7 days of restless legs, and I was extremely lethargic. 4 weeks later I feel fantastic...

It always pisses the fuck out of me to hear people who have NEVER been on the drug and have no fucking idea how it is to be stuck on it, the side effects you go through that halter your happiness in life and the prison you're put in because you are completely mentally and physically dependent on this drug, just like the other drugs we wanted to quit! This is just exchanging one addiction for another except with this drug it takes fucking weeks and months to get through withdrawals!!! And they aren't "discomfort" or whatever bullshit that guy said who clearly has never gone through them, they are like a living nightmare for weeks on end, to the point where you just want to either relapse and use or die because of physical and mental pain you're in!! Nobody who hasn't been on Suboxone and hasn't gone through those withdrawals should be saying shit about it or pretending like reading about it is actually like living through it. If you haven't been through it you don't know shit.

Keep something around, just in case you can't go on anymore...but you can !

Sucks about your insurance. I am sorry to hear that. And even a 16th of a strip should keep you going.
On the bright side, getting off dependency will be one of the best things you ever do for yourself! Truly.
I recently saw a video about withdrawing from Suboxone by having the tapering schedule not only be down to way small doses but, also, skipping 1 day at first, then two days, three days and eventually stop.
Sounds better than how I did it.
TBH, I think you should expect some of the unpleasant effects once you stop Suboxone completely. Everyone seems to have their own story getting off Suboxone. Some say it was no big deal. Most say it sucks for 2-3 weeks, with fatigue and depression for several months

@@everythingisvibration I personally found it best to taper down to .25mg before coming off , I’m in day 7 without any and I’m feeling ok not great my energy is still low but I can tell its slowly increasing with everyday, you are right about the restless leg but for me it’s both my legs and my lower back, insomnia is still pretty much a real thing, found some over the counter stuff that helps when I’m just exhausted, be prepared when you do come off after hopefully tapering down that your ready to stay up for atleast 2 days,l know that sounds like hell but the difference this time is you won’t have the horrible withdrawal symptoms it will be very minor like the restless legs, but the burning feeling and pens and needles feeling won’t be there. I’m a way I’m glad we have to suffer slightly because it reminds us to never touch this stuff again, if everyone could go threw a painless withdrawal everyone would do it and most likely become addicted to whatever substance they were using.

With 2 mg or lower you might feel an euphoretic effect again. Lower doses have more agonistic affects on you mu-opioid receptors. By the way, I can share a personal experience. I reduced the dosage from 16 mg to 10 immediately. And then weekly by 2 mg. From my experience, starting from about 4, it's better to reduce the dosage much more slowly and in smaller amounts.

I’ve been on this mess for three years trying to get off the phone lethargic function they start screwing your brain. You’re so weak.
