Listen people all of us addicts knows what it's like to go into withdrawal. I was on subs for 5 years and got down to 2 mlg and after a week quit. Yeah I'm going thru withdrawal now but it gets better. You have to just stay strong and fight thru it. If I can do it so can you. I have been an addict for over 25 years and I'm 40 now. Stay strong my friends and wish you all the best.

Thank you. And that is a pretty large dose to “jump” from too! Congratulations keep it up!
I am in the process of weaning down after maybe 3-4 years on subs. Down to .5mg currently (was mostly on 2mg over these years, started at 8 initially) and hoping to stabilize at .25mg for a month at least before trying to jump off. Get days in between doses too. Wish me luck, this is the second time I’ve made it to .5mg trying to taper (last time I slipped up and did full opiates, and was forced back up to 2mg after that prolonged relapse).
Thankfully this time around I feel 100% confident that I won’t regret the taper and quitting subs. Wish me luck lol. Take care

@@Weather_Nerd you got this i am almost 72 hrs clean again from subs and the last time i made it almost 6 months but messed up and done kratom which led me back to subs again but i feel better as each day goes by and I know now what to watch out for and what to expect and i am so happy and looking forward to my freedom and happiness again even if it takes a year, just be careful and always remember why you quit and if you relapse that you will feel worse and just want to quit again and its not worth it, like @washingtoncomanders17 said stay strong and the longer you go without them them better it gets! Good luck :)

Can you possibly make a video on how hospitals handle patients that need surgery while on Suboxone? If I get into a car accident or something, do I need to fear not being able to receive pain medication in extreme circumstances? Also, I’m concerned about post-operative pain management. I’ve been putting off having surgery for fear of not being able to take pain killers during recovery. I have chronic back and neck pain and would benefit greatly from this surgery. This is something I will discuss with my surgeon when the time comes, but can you offer some insight and maybe some peace of mind for Suboxone patients?

I was on Heroin for 20 years. I'm now 310 days clean and sober and doing good in life.
I went from 60mg of methadone to 20mg and then my doctor switched the treatment to 8 mg Buprenorphine that i tapered down to 0,2mg.
I've been trying for the last 5 months to get off that 0,2 mg and be free of any substances. I just can't do it, withdrawals are still very bad. I'm fine during the day but once i lay in bed it becomes Hell for me. Insomnia, restless legs, cramps, etc...
I wish i knew it was that hard to come off buprenorphine. If if tapered down the methadone from 20mg to 0, the treatment would have been over months aggo. Apologies for my English.

This gave me a second chance at life, it's better to have constipation then having abscesses, collapsed veins, hours sweating finding the vein. Testosterone can be managed with moderate physical activity or even with a supplement for that matter. Gradually tapering the dozes, staying hydrated, vegan diet helped me with constipation.

I take two 5.7 Zubs a day. I'm almost 50. I'm not crazy about being tied to a drug, but I can't sum up the courage to buck up and go completely without Bupe. I've been through 2 methadone clinics and tried going off Bupe at least 5x. Today, I have a ton of anxiety(on SSD for OCD/PTSD etc---whole other story lol) and sleep sucks, but at least I'm spending more time with my kids and am committed to staying clean. I smoke pot and yes I'm still clean btw! I digress...Maybe I really do need Bupe. Fuck it, I have to do what I gotta do and if that means melting a few tabs under the tongue, that's a helluva lot better than spending a whole paycheck on a nod. Like I said, I'm committed now---I never took Bupe properly because I always thought I would be able to use again and, of course, wanted to use again. Today, I Don't. And don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it for others because I live for my three kids and mom. Peace!

    • @Sn4pp3r
      @Sn4pp3r 3 года назад

I found that when I was on buprenorphine my libido was higher than when I was on heroin or other full agonist opioids.
If you are on a stable dose of buprenorphine that does not make you feel 'high' then your libido should return, especially compared to when you were on more short acting full agonist opioids.
Buprenorphine shouldn't affect fertility, opioids usually just decrease libido and ability to ejaculate, sperm count should be normal.

@@asafeibba4420 I wish you all the best! Just don't be afraid to stay on buprenorphine for as long as you need to, it will not affect your fertility or damage your health as a lot of people seem to think it does. Reducing or stopping too early is the main risk I have found, I've done 4 detoxes in the last 22 years off bupe, heroin, methadone etc, but I was not ready and got back on heroin.
In the 15 years I was on buprenorphine it hasn't caused any serious side effects and I have always felt safer on ORT than risk stopping too early. Reduce if and when you really feel ready to, buprenorphine will not damage you in any way if prescribed at the correct dose by a good doctor.

Especially if I don't get enough sleep the night before. Subs helped me get off percs, but now I can't get off subs and I've never taken more than 2mg the whole time. This shit sucks.

Avoid buprenorphine because there are No human studies to show it is safe and effective for chronic pain treatment. The drug zaps your manhood away, shrivels you sick up to the size of a pimple. It clouds you mind, gives you head aches, and makes you dizzying, and these symptoms are far worse than with traditional opioids. Most important buprenorphine is weak at treating pain and you are going to need higher does and the side effects will be worse. You have been warned.

The worst side effect of buprenorphine is extreme sedation, at high enough dose to treat pain, and confusion, both of which is much worse than that caused by traditional opioids. Traditional opioids are much more effective and safe when prescribed for legitimate chronic pain patients, and under a physician's care. Buprenorphine will wipe out your sex drive, and testosterone treatment can not keep up w the side effect because it cost to much for the testosterone dose needed when on buorenorphen and you will not get a high enough dose. Also there are no studies... 100% True ... there are no human studies that show buprenorphine is safe or effectice for long term , chronic pain control. Buprenorphine does not work very good for intractable pain. The only place that Buprenorphine has been adequately studied is in the case of opioid abuse treatment. So why are some doctors puting the cart before the horse and trying to prescribe buprenorphine for chronic pain, simply it the propaganda, lack of pain management training and studies, coupled with the fear that the DEA or the FBI will come knocking on their door. However, look hard for ethical doctors, that treat chronic pain patients w traditional opiods , that will put you the patient first. And do not let anyone start you on buprenorphine for chronic pain treatment. The biggest argument against it is that traditional ER opiod used for chronic pain for the last 20 years gave been proven very safe, effective, and not likely to cause addiction in legit chronic pain patients under a doctors care. And secondly, there are no long term human studies that show buprenorphine to be safe or effective for chronic pain patients. Stand your ground, look for another doctor and do Not fall for the neo-pain management treatment being sold to you like snake oil. It's making the neo- pain economy wealthy at the expense of the legit chronic pain patients. The abuse of buprenorphine must stop.

Following gastric bypass surgery I am having issues with metabolizing my pain meds too quickly (Hydrocodone). So much that I take a urinalysis and it comes back NEGATIVE for opioids. So my doctor has to do further testing to confirm that I'm indeed positive for opioids. Anyway, I'm honestly not getting the relief I use to and I truly think it's because my stomach is different now and I'm just not absorbing the way I use to. I wonder if Buprenorphine is a good choice for me??

Same thing happened to me I tested twice negative and he out me on probation when I take my Percocet I always get the runs or with anything I eat I told my pain doc if it was because my bypass he said no so now I have to take one 3hours before I go and I been testing positive but I believe or feel the meds are being metabolize to quick but my doc thinks I'm just crazy so now I'm on Percocet 5mg 4x a day and he started me on this patch he said he can't increase my pain medication

You could also potentially be an ultra rapid metabolizer of certain drugs. Having genetic testing can help determine this. Cheapest way to find out is 23&me.

The Impotence issue is from NOT HAVING THE PROPER DOSE; once you are on Suboxone a while...You build a Tolerance and you don't realize it....
I have had the tolerance issue also, for a while; due to drinking Beer and NOT taking my whole dose...I find that, you CANNOT use ANY OTHER SUBSTANCES/Beer, Alcohol...etc...while on any Medication for addiction...

Dear Dr. B. I have been on Zubsolve 2.9 for almost one year now. From the very beginning, I experienced issues with nausea and loss of appetite. However, these side effects have become more prominent recently. For the past 2 weeks, my appetite has decreased substantially to the point that I can barely eat. I am constantly nauseous and at times I vomit after eating. Along with that I absolutely no energy. I am tired all of the time. I am in constant pain and so weak that I can barely get out of bed. My appetite has been reduced by 80%. Do you think that these symptoms are related to Zubsolve? I take one 2.9 tab daily.

I am VERY CONFUSED- I started on Butrans Patches (10 mcg/hour) - One patch every 7 days. I was also prescribed 5 mg Percocet 2x a day for breakthrough pain. I have Chronic Pain that was not managed with Opoid Pills any longer. I have CKD and many, many Health issues due to a Botched Gastric By-pass (Roux-en Gastric Bypass) . Now almost 20 years later I have Malabsorption, Gastroparesis, Failure to Thrive, Muscle Loss, Osteo and RA. My bones are basically crumbling. At my lowest I weighed 62 lbs and was in the hospital for 3 months- The Dr's attempted to do a reversal but it failed. I am fighting having my Ulcerated little piece of stomach removed- I have severe nerve damage and so much Scar tissue in what was left of my small intestine. I have Renal Hypertension from my CKD and the unmanaged pain had me at almost Stroke Stage Daily (One small TIA already) No relieve from regular Pain Meds and I felt WORSE than ever- I became basically a Hermit and The feeling of being hung over every morning and no energy or desire to do ANYTHING. This is my 5th day on Butrans Patch so far so good- I am seeing bits of energy coming back and my MIND is slowing reappearing with a actual thought process! I am not Pain Free by any means Nor will I ever be. But Oh to feel just a little NORMAL here and there is a BEAUTIFUL thing.
My question is WHY do I need to take the 2 5mg PERCS a day if The Butrans blocks them??? Or am I misunderstanding ???
I plan on asking my Dr when I go back in 3 weeks- But I thought maybe you could answer me before then- Also might I add I am very naive on this type of Medication- AFTER I had The Patch on I stated googling and about had a HEART ATTACK- I had thought only people addicted to hard core drugs were put on Suboxne- I had never heard of Butrans and had no idea it was both same. thing..... Humbling to say the least.
Also The Dr had to do a assessment on me to make sure I WAS NOT AT RISK FOR ADDICTION BEFORE I COULD BE PUT ON THIS- Again I am so confused......
Thank you for your time Dr. B

I just got on it and the 1st night i waited till H withdrawal was pretty mild took 1 8mg subutex and withdrawal went away. Some cramps came and went but weren't painful or too long. Had a runny nose for about 6 hrs. Then around the 7hr mark my knees began aching, not too bad but enough to bother me. So i took half of an 8mg Subutex 8 hrs later for my knees aching, pain went away for a while but returned less strong. Im honestly glad im not in 100% withdrawal though. I been there b4 and it's painful. This is easy with Subutex.
Oh and i used H through my nose for years. Hope this helps anyone trying to come off H. If i could redoit I'd wait a couple more hours till i took the Subutex. I did experience some withdrawal but nothing crazy or unbearable with Subutex, plus i was at work when i took it.

Good this is how it should be used. However, some physicians try to make patients use buprenorphine for chronic pain treatment and that is a mistake. For chronic pain strict to traditional opioids.

Why doesnt the Butrans patch make you feel like suboxone, I was on suboxone then went to Butrans and the Butrans caused fast heartbeat , flushed face , severe stomach cramps , and i felt spacey all day and it was totally different. I liked suboxone , could function on it , unlike Butrans except Suboxone made my hair fall out.
