I mean I’ve always been in awe of Andrew Birds ability to play instruments, but his vocals man. He is always on point live. Great story teller too. I don’t understand why he’s not up there with the “greats”. Very underestimated.
If it's any consolation, he is considered one of the greats (particularly of contemporary song craft) in many circles; a musician need not be plastered on every billboard to get the recognition they deserve.
As a musician I both love him and feel he is mocking me with his virtuosity at the same time. I love it so much. His playing on Something Biblical is so amazing.
Arguably the greatest thing about Andrew Bird is that he places a greater value on musical novelty and expression over popularity. He is one of the greats. The public’s opinion is irrelevant here.
He is one of the greats. I can tell he makes the music just for the music itself, Not to be known:) when it comes down to it that drive for music alone is what makes artists so good. I wonder how many artists make great music and have no desire to record or be known at all.
Wow! what gorgeous harmonies. Not a sing along but a rich textured soundscape. Lucius educated and able to take over a stage if they so chose with or without instruments but they are able to restrain from being the focus and instead add something I can't quantify. So often even really good musicians can't not be the star which doesn't mean I don't like but am amazed how the perfect harmonies. soul and energy can move me far further than the most complicated pices which I know they are more than capable of. It's like what how my grandfather taught me how to cook Sicilian. It's about a select few fresh ingredients. I've seen and used loop pedals but Andrew Bird's looping with violin is seamless and presents these haunting overtones that with the harmonies creates a fusion of styles that is unique and very pleasing. Made me smile thank you!!!
What a beautiful collaboration between you! I come back to this session often and listen while I work, and always find myself stopping to just watch and listen in awe. Each song seems to be so perfectly selected to showcase the strengths of each individual. Each song feels like you have all been performing together for years. It always makes me smile that Andrew gets emotional playing Something Biblical with Lucius, as if he finally got to hear the full potential of his song with their female vocal additions. This is a very special performance, and I would love to hear a full album of Andrew and Lucius one day!
What a phenomenal set. Very hard to believe that they hadn't worked together more before this, what incredible talent on all sides to be able to mesh together so seamlessly.
I'm still out of breath, recovering from the song "My heart got caught on your sleeve". What a joyful sharing and for me such an amazing discover of @Lucius, wonderfully enhanced by the excellent musical arrangements of Andrew Bird. Chills. Will continue my nigh just pressing repeat.
The first few times I watched this video, I was not particularly moved by "caught on your sleeve" but after watching the absolutely amazing Radio Heartland performance with Chris Thile of Nickelcreek and others, I am now appreciating how amazing this video is.
Hey, Berlin is saying a big thanks again, for this great concert for my quarantine flat. Hope u all stay well, and I’m exited to listen for some more xx
So incredible! I got to see Luscious last May in Des Moines. It was amazing 😍 I was hoping to see Mr. Bird in KC but with this pandemic I doubt I'll have extra funds. Thanks for sharing
why? both Lucious and Andrew Bird were widely known and doing their thing, including collaborative projects, long before Lucious worked with Roger Waters.
🤯 Jess, Holly n Andy in the same room! Something biblical 👌✌️

Musical genius on SO many levels.
I just keep coming back to this, it's one of my favourite collaborations ever xx
Lucius is a wonderful addition to Roger Waters band. A great fit. And this is pretty special and quite intimate like a house concert.
This was amazing. I come to this video constantly. Love this collaboration!!!!
Have lived him since his days w the squirrel nut zippers ....so great
Damn, those were some pretty songs. An Andrew Bird and Jeff Tweedy collab would be superb.
I just love his slippers! ...and all the artistic stuff as well of course.
What a phenomenal set. Very hard to believe that they hadn't worked together more before this, what incredible talent on all sides to be able to mesh together so seamlessly.
What a joy to have this today! Thank you AB & Lucius!❤️

The violine is a smart choice because it can do pure intonation, just like those two singers do every time.
Stunning!

Venus in furs..... 🤯
They sang in the MN capital St. Paul, not Minneapolis, lovely performance, should be searchable here.
you play and sing beautifully. i think the tracklist should say Million Dollar Secret rather than Dusty Trails.
I was the 501st Like.....not incredible.....but THIS video IS!
24:37-24:27 The theme of the world right now.
O my god! these girls sounds perfect! they don´t need instruments!
how does one contact about getting on his show?
Дайте ему в руки балалайку...Так же дед Егор. Играл на крыльце по пьяне.Здесь скрипка, звуки души...
Have the girls broken away from the boys in the original Band?
They separated amicably yes
I have to go and buy kleenex. Thanks Obama.
Are you afraid to say Roger Waters
thought the same
why?
both Lucious and Andrew Bird were widely known and doing their thing, including collaborative projects, long before Lucious worked with Roger Waters.
