Another great Buckeye memory. I lived in Phoenix in those days and really enjoyed the Buckeyes coming to the Valley of The Sun. Thanks for uploading this game. Go Bucks!!
Kind of an inexplicable bowl match-up--before the selections were announced, literally everyone was expecting a rematch of the previous year's Fiesta Bowl between OSU and Miami. But for some reason we got a Miami-FSU rematch (and they were also going to open up next season) in the Orange Bowl instead.
Kansas State was a much more exciting team to watch than Miami or Florida State in 2003. So really it actually made sense why the bowl committee picked them to go up against this Buckeyes team
Everytime I rewatch Craig krenzel. I'm dumbfounded at how people called him smart and how we covered his mistakes and inaccuracy so much. Its literally mind numbing how bad he was yet we won a natty and a new year's six bowl with him.
@@MrJROOTS99 just because you major in biomoleculer science doesn't mean you're smart at football. And he wasn't smart at football. I know brilliant electrical engineers, but if you asked them to do the actual utility work they'd look like whiny teenagers.
That defense and Maurice Clarett is how they won a natty. If this team had even an average QB and RB they probably win another one. Krenzel and Ross were terrible.
He is smart! Doctor, and he made great decisions, not physically a great quarterback! Buckeyes deserved to win the Natty in 2022! They dominated Miami, out played them from the start!
I was at this game, and traveled five hours to get there from Encinitas, CA. So much controversy with the Ell Roberson incident...pulling for K-State all the way. Nevertheless, Ohio State's defense was amazingly fast on the sides, sideline to sideline. Sproles was checked too many times. Credit to OSU for that. Hope that K-State will meet OSU again in the future, with a different outcome.
I wouldn't count on it. Although I do have alot of respect for coach snyder and the program he built. They were a consistent top 25 team. He did a great job and got the most out of everything. They had a few top 10 teams. It's hard to compete at the very very top. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR NOT IN THE ESEC OR THE EACC. I cannot stress enough how ESPN pretty much owning both leagues really really shows favoritism that doesnt get talked about NEARLY enough.
@@justinhren3431 The ESPN bias for the regions you mention is pretty blatant. Most likely won’t happen that they will meet again! Ohio State is at another level, one of the best teams every year, K-State is not! No offense! But you really don’t want to see that beatdown Ohio State would put on your boys! Different league!
People forget that this was almost the same Defense that won the National Championship the year before. This was the epitome of Tressel ball. All 4 dbacks for OSU played in the NFL.
Typical tressel coaching with a 3 score lead. It’s hard to argue with his results but these games were so tough to sit through. I’m surprised more older fans didn’t die from heart attacks!! Watching krenzel keep the opposing team in another game was tough. That defense was stacked.
K-State was going to come back no matter what Ohio State called play wise. A ton of firepower on KSU’s roster. K-State offense and defense was just as stacked as Ohio State’s.
CATS looks pretty good considering they are playing the BUCKS. All those incompleted passes and this could have been a completely different game. The line held their own and had decent runs.
The reason Ohio State won was because both of their starting wide outs were all pro caliber NFL players that would have given any secondary fits. KSU still had a great team and played their hearts out to make it a one score game. Classic.
You knew at least with Tressel as our coach osu wasn't going to lay down like we did with pooper s-cooper ! In every big game ! Pooper was going to go 9 and 2 every year, lose to Michigan and the bowl game by double digits !
I loved JC, but after rewatching a bunch of games during Covid, I came to realize that his teams, however great they were, gave away too many games. Games that shouldn't or wouldn't have been close were either less than a touchdown wins or losses due to 3 or 4 fumbles lost a game. After that, I couldn't help but think that he most likely should have been fired several years earlier. A shame, such a great dude.

@@nathaniellathy6559 Ohio State outplayed K-State in the first half but KSU definitely outplayed the Buckeyes in the 2nd half.
