I grew up near NYC enough to go most weekends lol. I don’t think they would care about filming. I don’t think anyone really cares what others do tbh haha. You could be laying in the middle of the store naked/yelling, and people would just walk over you. Just don’t block them from getting from A to B. You’re good ;) hope you had fun!!!
I attended eBay open virtually between work. It was great! I learned a lot, primarily from other sellers. I was able to order some free swag because of my participation in the open so that was a bonus. I definitely snagged some of those big bags!

NYC probably had some crazy Thrift Store Finds back in the 80s 90s, before Ebay. Such a Rich history with the City as well. Aside from clothing its probably the best city in the world for collectibles, etc.
Griffith Observatory is such a cool place in LA. My oldest son lives there. My youngest son is in San Fran, & you guys should see all the thrift shops there! OMG!!! Every other store is vintage clothing & thrifting items. Plan a trip there. See the Golden Gate Bridge & so much more too!! Great finds in NY you guys. Super video!!! 👍😇♥️⭐️
You should go to Gilbert’s ice cream in pawley’s island South Carolina and get the new ( it might only be there for a little while) molasses cookie ice cream that my grandma met up with them to make because she makes the best cookies.

How awesome you guys got to go to New York! I'd have wanted to stay longer and go sightseeing 😉 If eBay would do what the online auction houses do it would alleviate many seller issues. If buyers had to register a credit card or debit card before bidding, sellers wouldn't have to chase them for payment. Once the auction ends the winner's card is charged and that's it. This is the biggest reason I avoid auctions...I don't want to chase people for payment so that would be huge. I also believe 30 days is too long for returns but that's me. A seller's reputation and feedback should be considered if eBay has to make some kind of decision and "take a side."
The challenge I can see with charging the buyer's credit card immediately is that, unlike many selling platforms, Ebay sellers can offer multiple shipping options, those shipping options are based on exact package dimensions and weight, and sellers have to manually calculate a combined shipping cost if a buyer buys more than one item. I know the buyer can select the shipping method at checkout, so if they can work through those other issues, they should be able to make automatic payments work.
@@rachelh5211 True though I personally refund buyers if they purchase multiple items I can ship together. I also have all my listings set to payment required immediately. I guess then they'd be relying on the seller to do the right thing 😉

But if I look back to when I began selling in the Wild West days of Ebay 20 years ago, I have to laugh at myself for getting impatient if I haven't received payment within 3 days. Back then, it was basically all auctions and buyers could even snail mail a money order or check to the seller. So we sometimes had to wait over a week to receive payment, then wait a couple days more days for that payment to clear our bank account before we could ship their order. BUT, we could also leave negative feedback for buyers back then. I seldom get a nonpaying bidder, but I also don't have much listed these days. It's more of a hobby instead of a business. I can see how this issue could be a significant problem to many full-time resellers. Also, Ebay used to refund sellers for any selling fees associated with a refund they issued to the buyer, but they no longer do that. So when you refund any overages of shipping charges, you're actually losing money on the shipping. I find this annoying and unfair. So I no longer refund shipping charges. So far, no buyers have complained. I try to let my customer service shine in other ways like shipping promptly, packaging carefully, including a handwritten note in each package, and messaging them after I drop their item off at the P.O. I'm sure this would be too time consuming if I were selling a large volume.
eBay updates: Yes, their size slows down fixing and updating software issues, which is why when they do roll out a change, it needs to be a good change and/or a real fix to a real issue. Instead, they seem to roll out "changes" that create problems or slow the process down. I do not know when a Seller Update rolled up that didn't cause issues or have a big glitch. The latest questionable software roll out is their New Listing Template. It's slower to list, harder to understand and it looks like they took their software folks into a room and told them they wanted a new tool that looked and worked so different,. that no one would recognize it. Well they did that, but it's a real step backwards. I photo editor is awkward, the different sections have all these pop-ups to make choice selections (some taking seconds to load each) and the different sections (shipping, editing, item specifics) all work differently, like a dozen groups each did their own thing, then it all went into a Gumbo Pot to produce the new Listing Template. It's sad. I have 3 stores, 1 of which is on the new Tool and I can list about twice as fast on the 2 that are yet to be converted.
Perhaps they should implement the buying system they use in World of Warcraft. It is designed to keep people from taking items without the sellers consent to price.
It’s a bit like being in a different country for you. I’ve spent a week in NY I’m English, the top of the rock is a fantastic view of the city. We took in two shows visited, Harlem, Art galleries and walked all over. We had a fantastic time. NY is so different from the Deep South which we have also visited. Have fun.

0:14 I never realized the Statue of Liberty had pit stains. Looks like you had a blast in NY. I used to go frequently but I haven't been there in many years now. There's really no place like it, is there? If you ever find yourselves in NYC again, I'd recommend the High Line Park. It's a park built on a 1.5 mile stretch of abandoned elevated railroad track on the lower west side. It's really amazing. You can walk the length of the long, narrow park with great views of the city, and watch the traffic pass underneath you. It's something you'll never forget.

I visited the Ebay Ads table asking questions talked to the Ebay Employer about 10 mins she asked do I use ads I said I use promoted listings she said that's ads we couldn't stop laughing, she said I wasn't the only one said they need to do better with explaining Ebay ADS. LOL
You should have gone a little further South, to NJ and into Columbus flea market, open Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays....but the best days are Thurdays and Sundays. Thrift stores in NYC are TOO expensive, visit the ones in NJ.😁😁

Once was a massive seller on eBay. I was one of the initial sellers when eBay started & sold for years. As time went on, things just went downhill. Payment issues are HORRIBLE. I finally just found other avenues. Their "excuses" of "working on it" is typical of their lax attitude. There's actually ZERO excuses when plenty of other auction style websites & platforms have exactly that. EBay is a multi BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY & they have zero excuse for not doing a better job. *Rant over*
