Part of it is the completely uncritical media coverage he received early on, part of it is a willingness to buy into the myth of the individual genius, and now at least part of it is that he triggers the libs.

This is just conjecture on my part but I tend to think it's because there are a lot of people who have unresolved inadequacy issues that they feel the need to overcompensate, and these people live vicariously through Elol, who they view as kindred. Which is why they get offended on his behalf when he's criticized because their opinion of him has to be protected as an extension of how they feel about themselves.

Voyeuristic envy from the financially insecure. Kanye had a cult of temporarily embarrassed millionaires spending three digits on his plain white shirts before trimp ran and the overlap of them with Tate is unavoidable today. The "lone pioneer for all battery sports cars" mythos our MSM gave him ran out of juice long before his doge coin scams and all those rocket crashes chased away future fetishists before his truck got smashed. See it as advanced prosperity gospel and wonder no more.

For the record, the character Magneto's birth name is Max Eisenhardt. He was born in Germany in the late 1920's. He is Jewish. He is a Holocaust survivor, having been sent to the Warsaw Ghetto and later Auschwitz. Musk knows these things; he's not just throwing out the comparison of George Soros to a comic book character he happens to see as evil, he's making the comparison because both the fictional character and the real-life person are both Jewish.
And I'll take it a step further than that. Magneto was never explicitly written to be "evil." He was actually based on Menachem Begin, with David Ben-Gurion serving as the inspiration for Charles Xavier. In fact, echoing Begin's transition from militant to political leader, Magneto transitioned from a villain to a hero later in life. Magneto's initial violence was never even painted as having been unjustified. An angry mob burned down his house and prevented him from rescuing his daughter, all because he's a mutant. He was convinced at that point that the only way to achieve equal rights for mutants was to, quite literally, fight fire with fire. That has also led to the character being compared to Malcolm X (and Xavier being compared to Dr. King). All three pairs had righteous motivations, even the more violent side's actions were (debatably) wrong.
So for Musk to be comparing George Soros to Magneto? It's pretty obvious to anyone who's actually a FAN of Marvel comics that Musk is just making the connection only because they're Jewish. He literally just painted himself as one of the TRUE villains of the X-Men franchise: the bigoted humans who hated and attacked the mutants simply because of who they are.

Musk can’t explain anything he says or does. He’s got tunnel vision and just reacts to things. And yeah, that sounded like a disappointed dad talking to a rebellious kid. That should have been a private conversation, not an interview.

He didn’t need to google them. His Twitter followers spew them multiple times a day. They are right wing buzzwords
