    Thanks Mark. You have sold me on Spad.Next . I still find flight control setup on MSFS cumbersome so this looks like a helpful tool to make joystick assignments.

      It is a good program, although I wish it had Lua scripting. If you get the beta version you can also address the GPS and G1000 functions in MSFS, unless you have found another way to do that. (And I don't know how the upgrade policy affects beta access.) There is an online manual for SPAD.neXt, which is not obvious from within the program. Unfortunately the only support is via Discord, for reasons I can't fathom.

    wow@ nicely done mate - I will have to watch this again to follow it better but fantastic work.
    Cheers....Jim

    To use the VS mode you have to adjust the desired altitude: for example if you are at 4000 fts and you want to reach 6000 fts at a climb rate of 600 fts/m , you have to adjust your altitude to 6000 and after set the Vs mode to 600fts/m .. the plane will climb and when it reaches the desired altitude it will stop climbing.. same for the descent

      Didn't I just spend 35 minutes explaining this?

    Thx shouldn’t be necessary. On mine last night flight,the autopilot two times crashed the twin otter after I activated the autopilot. Then it did in the third try the Sid, but ignored the Star and wanted to fly straight to the airport. After I lead the autopilot in the correct direction with the heading mode, it did catch the glide slope. Don’t know what the problem is. I used the GNS 750 Garmin mod.

    I program the new altitude, turn off altitude hold (if already turned on), adjust the autopilot pitch trim until the vertical speed is what I want, and monitor it until it reactivates altitude hold at my programmed altitude.

    I have a major problem with mine. Whenever I load the aircraft in, the engines spool down and fuel levers remain stuck in the off position the aircraft has plenty of fuel and the generator waring light is off. Cannot restart the aircraft and the aircraft remains stuck fast to tarmac. Even when I load in at altitude the same thing happens after 60 secs everything shuts down. I've uninstalled the aircraft and reinstalled all to no avail.

      The only thing I can suggest is that you have a switch or axis bound to the fuel levers, keeping them in the off position.

      @@AlmostAviation Thanks for the reply I thought of that, however it doesn't affect the default aircraft they load fine. It's bizarre as it's now affecting my Carenado PC 12 in exactly the same way.

      Thank you I went back in and started afresh. I discovered for some reason the sim was loading a default x52 profile that had indeed an axis assigned to mixture so I removed it and all is working as intended now. Thank you again for the reply and help.

    Well, I am very confused. I don’t get VS in the display, the up and down buttons dont work at all, not with my mouse and not with my Honeycomb Bravo. (The other buttons work). Every time I turn on the AP, the plane goes into a steep climbe. I have tried to push NAV, both before and after, but there is just no way. In the video I could see that your up and down buttons work, but thats not the case for me. Any thoughts on why this is so? 😊

    • @AlmostAviation
      @AlmostAviation  2 года назад

      My guess is you have switches on your Bravo mapped to some of the functions incorrectly. I would try unplugging the Bravo (and anything else with switches on) and seeing if the AP works differently using the mouse. Anything with toggle switches on will hold down a button and potentially send a repeating command to MSFS, so if you have unexpected mappings you can get unpredictable effects.

      @@AlmostAviation YES!!!!! It was the Bravo. I have now deleted all the AP-bindings on the Bravo. I dont use them anyway, since I fly in VR. Thanx a lit, indeed. ❤️ Also a great thank you for your videos. Most appreciated.

    Thanks Mark. We have to recognise that this is described as "Game of the year". Not Sim of the year? The Asobo AP and all the waypoint data is not sim quality. You would think Aerosoft would have isolated the autopilot functions and placed them in a separate external program. I see no future in using the "Game" Asobo modes. Its a "scenery game"!

    • @AlmostAviation
      @AlmostAviation  2 года назад

      Hello David. It's a bit disappointing in some ways, yes. But it's a platform and if Asobo can make it open enough then we'll get the likes of A2A doing what they do. It is a truly amazing platform visually, so we can hope!

      First of all, all simulators ARE computer games by definition. MSFS, XPlane, P3D are all games (and simulators, as a sub-genre)... Second, there is nothing wrong with systems and flight model in MSFS (other than known bugs which will be fixed in due time). No sim quality waypoints? What do you mean? They update is to the latest AIRAC cycle with every major sim update, but there is also an option to update with up-to-date Navigraph data.
      Telling these as an IRL aerobatic pilot, just to give myself some credibility...
