    Well leaving the door stuck open after you brought it up is entirely due to not checking to make sure it was all shut once you put more bait in.

    It was fun watching the Crabs enter the pots and that lighting system seems to work quite well. Crab on, Crab on! 🦀

      Thank you Northwest Adventurer! I think the Gopro's and the lights were probably near their max depth. I'm glad they kept working and caught the footage.

    So cool! Heading up to Garibaldi from SoCal this week. I wanted to do some crabbing but it looks like it may be raining pretty hard.
    I may still do it just to say I have done it. Only have done pier hoopnetting for Lobster down here
    Great video!!

    Crabs taste MUCH better if you cook them whole and then clean afterwards. You are losing alot of delicious juice cleaning first

      I've had a lot of Dungeness that way, but I definitely prefer them cracked and cleaned before cooking.

    Those little boats are bad ass what are they and where you get them?

    • @jimmyinthewild4148
      @jimmyinthewild4148  3 года назад

      They are Mokai Jet Kayaks. I got them used from someone in CA. They are manufactured in NY state. The guy in CA couldn't register them there so he put them up for sale. Here's the website for Mokai --> www.mokai.com/
      There's probably a several month to a year wait for one from the factory.

    Great video guys, thanks! Just FYI, wet suits are designed to warm a layer of water between your skin and the suit. They won't keep you warm out of the water.

    • @jimmyinthewild4148
      @jimmyinthewild4148  3 года назад +2

      Also, FYI, we did have a layer of water between the wetsuit and our skin, but it was still a pretty cold day. And, we don't really stay dry at all in those Kayaks, especially pulling crab traps in all day. The wetsuits do help with what we were doing. It's better than not having a wet suit and better than being soaked in normal clothes. You also have to be prepared for possibly falling in the water or capsizing the kayak. Dry suits would be an alternative, but they are too expensive and restrict your movement too much when you ae pulling pots.
