This is a God send. Really want to stop screwing up life.
You got this! Which technique will you start testing first?
Maybe just stop trying to achieve perfection and stop fearing failure.
It's difficult when people and myself know and expect that I should be able to do something, but my mind is like a tar pit.
@@bernardlimvideos it can change with practice.. look into cognitive behavioral therapy, you can do it yourself with journaling plots
Well done, thank you. BTW, I like that you included a flow chart as part of your explanation.
I am a systems engineer ;)
This is an amazing framework! You should write a book bro! Thanks for making this.
Thank you! What do you suggest the book be about?
@@alialqaraghuli Productivity for people with ADHD. Maybe doesn’t have to be just for ADHD people but it helps us the most.
ive been declining in my studies over 2 years and I'm coming out of an intense depressive period, just no motivation, dopamine rush or joy in anything, where I just cut myself off from everything. got referred to screening done for exam adjustments and I've been flagged for adhd, and Ive always been told I'm abnormal or difficult since childhood. the self hatred talk examples is exactly how i've been addressing myself. thank you for the video!
I just discovered your channel. I too have been frustrated and annoyed by the endless productivity videos on RUclips that give you MORE work and LESS clarity in your efforts to become more productive and effective. The result? You fail and beat yourself up about it. You hit all the nails on the head in this video and your other videos. A lot of this stuff are things I have figured out for myself over years of painstaking trial and error, but you have done a beautiful job of organizing it all into actionable frameworks. Great work. Keep it up. You're changing lives for the better.
Thank you!! Glad you like the videos :)
shareing this with friends - even the ones who dont have adhd - the self love advice is good fore everyone
agreed!
This is litterally the video I needed! My problem since I started University is starting things, usually after I start it goes just fine, but I take so damn long to start... I can procastinate for weeks something I can do in 2-3 hours. So thanks a lot for the tips!
Greetings from Portugal ❤
Wow, thank you so much! I love portugal, been there like 6 times haha -- cheers!
@@alialqaraghuli Amazing to hear that, just hope it wasn't always Lisboa eheh.
salam Ali. I spend hours a day on youtube watching content similar to yours. This is the signal channel that suits me so well and teaches me so well and gets straight to the point. this is information that has never been talked about. thank you so much. keep it up, waiting for new videos!
Thank you so much! What do you find different about these videos than others?
@@alialqaraghuli They actually make a lot of sense and they are very specific to problems I face as an ADHD person. Many information online tells us to run away from these situations or they treat it as a bad thing, while you treat it as a insignificant bump that actually benefits us partially and that you can navigate around, and you explain this very well by using systems. Nobody uses systems which is very straight forward and unique!
@@nsxaura8272 Thank you so much for this! What would you like to see next?
@@alialqaraghuli defintily alot more ADHD related content, and cures and talk about how you navigated your difficulties and were able to get your PHD despite all the roadblocks. Additonaly, videos regarding money and how to avoid distractions like porn and girls and stuff of that sort.
@@alialqaraghuli I was wondering if I can work under you as a mentorship program. I have a lot to offer..
ill definitely watch more of your videos as they release this is solid advice
Thank you! Glad you found it useful
this is amazing, thank you so much! ❤
You're very welcome! What would you like to see next?
Thank you so much for your videos! They are really helpful and to the point. I feel like you've gone through everything you talk about.
Absolutely, a lot of pain happened in order for me to fully understand these concepts haha
You're last 2 vids were so helpful. God bless you, man! I read a lot about ADHD and already know most of the stuff, but you have put the relevant information into a compact, easy to grasp system. There's needed nothing more to get the engines started! I should get a tattoo with that Flowchart, so I will never forget, or at least print it on a t-shirt 😁
We definitely should make t-shirts of those block diagrams soon haha. Glad I could help. Any videos you suggest or other problems you are facing?
This was great, thank you, direct and clear ❤
You're so welcome!
hi ali, your videos are very thoughtful and have great impacts, thank you!
Thank you so much!
Thank you! You helped me!
you are very welcome!
Hey man!
I've started implementing your system,
In the subtract part, I've realized that I spend heavy amounts of time on RUclips (like 4-7h) on my phone.
So I did things like app time limit (progressively deloading it) and searching meaningful stuff on my PC
I can't wait to do this video's part! I can't thank you enough 🙏❤️🔥
Hell yes, it's only gonna get better with the later parts. Glad you are finding it useful! Stick around for more videos ;)
Love it, simple and easy to digest - am implementing now, excited to see the change in coming weeks. Thanks you Ali for sharing.
My pleasure!
Another great video! I resonate so much! Glad to say I already implement a few similar things to interrupt my 'laziness loop.' Thanks again!
Glad you like it!!
Thanks
I am going into engineering (aerospace) this year at a pretty prestigious institute this July and I need these tips because I know I will need to manage way more rigorous curriculum there and I need to kill my laziness. This was very helpful, thank you!
you are very welcome!
thanks
you're very welcome!
Wow thanks homie
You're very welcome! Which one of the 4 techniques resonated the most?
Brilliant
Thank you! What did you specifically like about the video?
Dammn a good video, i don't know how I got the recommendation but I know for a fact that this will work, I would have to put some effort but this is top tier.
Actually, I used to do some of the things subconsciously and those things got done, If I had reflected more on the past I would have come to similar lines. so it saved me quite a lot of time
self talk for starting :
1- annihilate Overwhelm, initiate the small steps of the task.
2- choice & Ownership, reframe the default selftalk to induce a high level purpose for this task.
3- Why? (Selling yourself), motivate over short oitputs and results of this task.
4- Self-love, maintain problem solving attitude instead of blame/shame. High self esteem.
Execution : reminders … TBC
Yes!
I was using technique unintentionally :D
I never look at my work like work i look at it like learning process just like playing game to get better at it
very good approach!
Good
Awesome video man, I have a question about judging the quality of your work, as a designer it's easy be judgemental to my work and feel dissatisfied, even with iterating and chunking the tasks. Is that also a thing self-talk can fix or is there more to it?
For sure self-talk, remember that harsh self criticism does nothing but discourage you -- you can criticize the work itself and say it needs to get better, which it does with iteration, but as long as you don't criticize yourself for not doing a "good job"
I have a question, is the beating yourself up part, really part of execution solely?
I feel like it's something that doesn't even let me get to clarification, so shouldn't self talk be also part of subtracting?
And do you have any stories of your own on how you did to overcome this?
Awesome content btw thank you very much
Beating yourself up is a complex topic, you have good intuition there. I will need to go deeper.
But yes I have so many stories -- do you suggest I include some of them in my next video?
@@alialqaraghuli Yes, please do it would help a lot, and thank you
Without commitment, you'll never start. But more importantly, without consistency you'll never finish. - Denzel Washington
Without systems, you won't have consistency
Hi Ali. I had a very tough childhood and used it as an excuse to rebel. I got caught 2 years behind in school but finally made up my mind, i put in a lot of effort and was able to graduate at the same time as my peers. I wanted to go into engineering but did not really have the confidence since i was not familiar with the maths and sciences. During the summer of my high-school graduation(2023) i stumbled upon your channel and since you have really helped me to push through everything. Im now in my first year of my bachelors and starting to really catch up, and i will soon be killing it. You have made a great impact in my life, keep up the good work🚀 ! Kind regards from Belgium.🫡
Wow thank you so much, means a lot to me! Which city in Belgium?
Ali how do you feel about dopamine detox? How would you fit it into your plan?
so that's kind of a vague term used by the internet, can you be more specific? how would you define a dopamine detox?
love the content so far very informative and a fresh approach for these things. Do you have a business email I could contact you with?
sure! It's ali at nextlevelsystems dot co (not com)
1. small
2. wow i can study this subject?
3. i’ll know what i lack now
4. never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever --- why?
5. dont forget (capture-a-st-sc)
Can do a video for ADD
its the same thing really -- ADD is the inattentive case for ADHD, everything in the video still applies
i want to tell you that for me this system is not working for me. i am taking Modafinil when i need to. but still i am addicted to my phone.
which part of the system specifically?
It took me 1.5 hours to finish watching this video on 2x speed. Can you make a video on helping with the "continuing" part of execution? Thanks :)
what is it that made it take a while? Did you get distracted by something else? was it phone or notification?
@@alialqaraghuli um no, no notifications, but i watched a couple of minutes then got distracted then watched a couple more and got distracted again. And so it went on.. I think i went on instagram, then i walked around, then i paid some attention to my dog, then i did some dusting then i was looking for a pomodoro timer then i was on notion and read a little bit of the new chapter of Snakes Are Very Nice. It just goes on/off/on ...
@@ramsik yeah thats very adhd-like... my boring answer to that is I just delete Instagram on weekdays and try to remove as many distractions as possible
Try forcing yourself to watch the video but slower. 🙂 Doing this has helped me build an understanding of the value of time... Yes, you're burning time - but your attention will be strengthened, like a muscle!
Im to lazy to watch this video
Haha good one
@@alialqaraghuli I did watch it though, good points raised
