  • Lisa Kudrow, known for her iconic role as Phoebe Buffay on the hit sitcom "Friends," has revealed her mixed feelings towards the show's live studio audience laughter.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kudrow clarified previous comments made by co-star Jennifer Aniston, stating that while she didn't exactly hate the audience laughter, she did find it irritating when it extended for too long. According to Kudrow, the enthusiastic audience sometimes laughed longer than necessary, interrupting the flow of the scenes. Despite this, Kudrow expressed gratitude towards the audience's excitement and acknowledged their support throughout the show's ten-season run.
Jennifer Aniston had previously mentioned during an interview with Variety that Kudrow would often react to extended laughter by signaling she wasn't finished with her lines, suggesting a degree of frustration with the interruptions.
Despite her mixed feelings about the live audience experience, Kudrow remains open to the idea of working on another sitcom with a live studio audience in the future, indicating her enduring fondness for the format.
"Friends," which premiered in 1994, continues to resonate with audiences worldwide, and Kudrow's portrayal of Phoebe Buffay earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 1998.
