I have a theory that the lower part of the hourglass chamber holds the alpha version of agent 8, and the upper part holds the omega version of agent 8. Remember that agent 8 is gone in both universes.

It would also explain why omega earth would want to go here, beyond just getting radianite

My idea with agent 8 is pretty similar to yours
I've been thinking that since omen originally worked with hour glass, this could be one of the parts of him that was torn ripped from him, maybe our current omen is the good part of him and the one contained is his "evil side" - could be so strong that hour glass feels the need to contain him until they can merge the two halves back together
Ours definitely isn't the good side I'd say. He even calls himself a monster.
It's probably the omen from the "mirror."

Alright everyone let’s throw out a random theory that probably doesn’t work but imma try it.
So what if in solo missions our dear OMEN was captured and that with the radianite power hourglass was able to create a duplicate and that it’s actually omen that’s locked up in the prison and so the one we see being an hourglass fraud undercover traitor. Probably doesn’t work at all but hey the hand looks so similar to omen it can’t be a coincidence.
the tree type symbol you mentioned 7:20 looks like a upper half of the hourglass logo it could also mean this is a branch of hourglass which experiments as tree represents growth ...

I personally think that MAYBE THERES A SLIGHT FUCKING CHANCE that the thing in their is kayos dimensions revived REYNA because the cherries and the way the person paces back and forth might be a drained radiant power reyna and hourglass is sudying her or it could be Agent 8 WHICH might be a friend of chamber or reyna cuz they have similar bodies to reyna and chamber i went to the map if u shoot the glass u can see the figure moving back and forth with their hands behind their back but the top cage doesent have anything rn
Hear me out I have an idea what if agent 8 was once a friend of viper and omen but he/she also got experimented like omen who turns into or transformed into something like omen whose like a monster or a creature thats why agent is missing because they lock it on a hour glass chamber
its a monster. how do i know? idk? maybe the teriffing ass roar that it lets out in the trailer or maybe its claws at look like its boutta be the tesla robot incident 2.0 (for those who dont know the tesla robot incident was in 2022 i think but a robot at one of the factories baiscly pinned down one of the engineers and started mauling it with its giant claws but by some mircale another engineer was nearby to assist)

After this, my headcanon is that Agent 8 is a sleeper agent that works for hourglass that got into the valorant protocol. And I also think that the reason nobody talks about him is that a few people like Viper, Brimstone or Cypher found out.
As to why he is locked up in Abyss, I like to think that he somehow merged the memories of his/her "Agent 8" self and "Hourglass Operative" self and was planning on cooperating with the Valorant Protocol but the Hourglass found out and captured and inprisoned him/her in Abyss before he/she could make a move.
To avoid any complications, whichever agent found out told rest of the agents that Agent 8 tried to be a Hero by saving said Agent and died; Thats why you hear agents say something like "There can only be one hero".
Phoenix says "there can only be one hero" after killing his omega counterpart, not because of agent 8.
"There can only be one hero" is a Phoenix Voiceline, I believe the Pheonix is refering hero...as himself because in val lore, he is cocky asf
