this solidified my theory that ALM wasn’t some world class dance teacher. She was a random studio owner from PA who got lucky that a show filmed with her students blew up the way it did.
That is so true and it honestly makes me sad how many beautiful dancers (specifically Chloe and Kalani) wasted their talents and abilities by staying there.

I hate how she treated those children that was so horrible I can only imagine behind the scenes , however I don’t feel bad for how she treated them producers like they were pushy and evil and manipulative and look at all the trauma they put them girls threw to get ratings on a show so they had it coming . And I think once Abby was dealing with the prison stuff it became to much for her and the producers didn’t care they just wanted to suck her dry as much as they can and I think she quickly seen that they didn’t care it was business to them not personal .
The “food court” is delicious btw. It’s not really a food court though, it’s a bunch of kitchen space and you order from a kiosk and wait in a room for your order. There’s nowhere to sit except a small patio outdoors.

The thing about throwing away/losing headshots is why people think Chloe isn’t on the wall of fame. It’s not because she left because Paige and Brooke are still there.
But Abby herself would have thrown away Chloe bc she hated that she was better than Maddie before giving Maddie all the private slots just to catch her up to Chloe. She's even said herself that Chloe's techniques is better than Maddie snd she hated that so she starting giving Maddie more privates. Maddie was made, Chloé was just naturally gifted.
I was there in late October and Chloe is on there. The hylands, the Zieglers, nia, kendall, and the s8 cast (replace savannah with elli) are on there too.

No she doesn't doesn't produce broadway stars like a factory the way she says she does. She probably has a good 9-10 students who are on broadway out of the thousands she has teached (minus anyone who was on Dance Moms). Also Abby's studio ranges from average to mediocre compared to better studios in her area, like studio 19. Basically it's just Abby being a narcissist and over exaggerating her accomplishments. Also Abby wasn't anyone special, she wasn't very well respect as a teacher before dance moms, and the only reason people go to her studio now are because of fame and money, not necessarily because of her.

Exactly. Especially the LA studio being abandoned and turned into a food court for me personally. It was such a big thing when it opened and it looked like such a gorgeous place inside but to see it be completely destroyed and ripped apart with little reasoning is extremely sad...

Chloe's sister Clara briefly danced with Dance Mechanics. Very surprised to learn about it's association with the ALDC but it's possible the Lukasiak's had better relationships with the rest of the staff
If i remember correctly, Dance Mechanics opened up while abby was in LA for ALDCLA, and part of the reason was the fact that her staff and students in pgh were fed up with the lack of attention she was giving the original studio.
@Jennifer Rivera Yeah I think that’s really cool. It looked like a really good studio and I recognized almost all of the names of staff and alumni that were mentioned in the video. It’s good that they were able to stand up to Abby and create this amazing business.
They were all supposedly favorite teachers with a good amount of the younger kids. She did a handful of Mackenzie’s solos, Matt did all of Maddie’s tap solos, and James was a very good lyrical choreographer. Plus, the fact that so many former Aldc students went there, goes to show it as well. Usually when a teacher or multiple go from one studio to another, all of the kids who liked them would go to that studio.

I visited the ALDC in PA in May of 2018 and it was still attached and running as a separate entity from the rented out dance studio. The door connecting the two was even locked, the lady working in the costume shop snuck us into the ALDC. it was wild! As far as then, though, it was still running. Check their Instagram maybe!

abby is a prime example of why i think formal education is good for most people. i study business in college. and studying business in college might have prevented abby from buying a building that she couldnt afford by learning proper bookkeeping. from what i gather abby didnt know how much money she earned, how much money she actually received and how much she could afford. if she took bookkeeping, accounting and finance classes at community college, college or some other place this could have been prevented. she might have also learned how important it is not to drive away customers and how much she could have demanded for renting out her dance studio to lifetime or had the sense to go to an expert in real estate to get an estimation as well as go to a lawyer to proofread her contract..... but oh well at least we can learn from her
Sometimes i felt bad for Abby throughout the seasons, like when she lost her mom, dog, and when she was going to prison. But then again i didnt at other times because of how rude she was.
All these mothers certainly had the choice to take their kids elsewhere. To complain how she treated the girls lays at the feet of their mothers! Who enjoyed the media attention.

I actually lived in LA in 2019 and first part of 2020. I worked at a mall 5 minutes down the road from the new ALDCLA. I tried to visit after work one day, but Abby and Brady were filling an interview that day. It was so tiny. It is wild that they can fit even tiny classes in there. Abby used to come to the Macy's at our mall almost every week.

something i would like to see talked about is the mom’s friendship throughout the show. for example, there was clearly a strain in around season 5 with nias music career and kendall’s music career. Jill and Melissa seemed very annoyed with how holly talked so much about nias career. Was it faked for drama or real? Also the history of Melissa and Christi, they never had a great friendship since episode one. Another is season 8, bradys mom always had fights with the other mom. And Yolanda and Stacy. (if you already covered this can you tell me please)

I live not far from Apple Dance Lab and the first time I saw the sign I couldn’t help but think Candy Apples. Never thought there was an actual connection to Dance Moms. I didn’t know it was the same person who rented the ALDC until this episode.

It hurts me to see the ALDC LA no longer the dance studio it once was...it was a beautiful dance studio, both on the inside and the outside. I am happy though that she still has a dance company, even if it wasn't what it was.

its standard to send the zoom call link right before class. I am a dance teacher in the UK and have fellows all over the world. This is VERY standard practice because 90 percent of parents loose the link and message you after 5 mins of you waiting for your students saying please send the link again!
Dance Mechanics is still up to this day and people who used to go to ALDC do go there even some of the original 7 dance members like Mackenzie, Nia, and Maddie because Abby would use some of the teachers who were not on the show to choreograph solos and group dances. I know this because I used to go to ALDC and I now go to Dance Mechanics it is a wonderful studio and even though most of the teachers grew up with Abby none of them are ok with her actions and they do not replicate any of them
I noticed the singular small studio since I followed a bunch of the dance moms kids after the show ended, but the only videos I saw in there were usually the dance moms kids having privates and I had assumed it was just a small room specifically for privates, just never showed in filming since it would have been difficult to film in. The lack of transparency in their venue change definitely convinced me and probably a lot of other people that nothing had changed.

Exactly. Especially the LA studio being abandoned and turned into a food court for me personally. It was such a big thing when it opened and it looked like such a gorgeous place inside but to see it be completely destroyed and ripped apart with little reasoning is extremely sad...
As a small business owner, I can’t fathom getting that behind on taxes. She can blame cameramen all she wants, but being that behind in taxes shows a systemic problem in the business, and she is squarely to blame.

Chloe's sister Clara briefly danced with Dance Mechanics. Very surprised to learn about it's association with the ALDC but it's possible the Lukasiak's had better relationships with the rest of the staff
If i remember correctly, Dance Mechanics opened up while abby was in LA for ALDCLA, and part of the reason was the fact that her staff and students in pgh were fed up with the lack of attention she was giving the original studio.
@Jennifer Rivera Yeah I think that’s really cool. It looked like a really good studio and I recognized almost all of the names of staff and alumni that were mentioned in the video. It’s good that they were able to stand up to Abby and create this amazing business.

They were all supposedly favorite teachers with a good amount of the younger kids. She did a handful of Mackenzie’s solos, Matt did all of Maddie’s tap solos, and James was a very good lyrical choreographer. Plus, the fact that so many former Aldc students went there, goes to show it as well. Usually when a teacher or multiple go from one studio to another, all of the kids who liked them would go to that studio.

I visited the ALDC in PA in May of 2018 and it was still attached and running as a separate entity from the rented out dance studio. The door connecting the two was even locked, the lady working in the costume shop snuck us into the ALDC. it was wild! As far as then, though, it was still running. Check their Instagram maybe!
Can you make a video about what exactly was going on between Abby and Kelly before Dance Moms, and how Kelly’s sister had a studio close to the ALDC and gained more customers than Abby?

Gianna said some mean things to kids in the show. Like, "it's a battle" in front of a girl's face when teaching a dance. I'm trying to see a way that any of the mean things she said could've been manipulated by producers.

abby is a prime example of why i think formal education is good for most people. i study business in college. and studying business in college might have prevented abby from buying a building that she couldnt afford by learning proper bookkeeping. from what i gather abby didnt know how much money she earned, how much money she actually received and how much she could afford. if she took bookkeeping, accounting and finance classes at community college, college or some other place this could have been prevented.
she might have also learned how important it is not to drive away customers and how much she could have demanded for renting out her dance studio to lifetime or had the sense to go to an expert in real estate to get an estimation as well as go to a lawyer to proofread her contract..... but oh well at least we can learn from her

The fact that Jeanine, Matt, and James ALL left after teaching for Abby for YEARS just goes to show how horrible of an environment it was
Sometimes i felt bad for Abby throughout the seasons, like when she lost her mom, dog, and when she was going to prison. But then again i didnt at other times because of how rude she was.
All these mothers certainly had the choice to take their kids elsewhere. To complain how she treated the girls lays at the feet of their mothers! Who enjoyed the media attention.

I actually lived in LA in 2019 and first part of 2020. I worked at a mall 5 minutes down the road from the new ALDCLA. I tried to visit after work one day, but Abby and Brady were filling an interview that day. It was so tiny. It is wild that they can fit even tiny classes in there. Abby used to come to the Macy's at our mall almost every week.

something i would like to see talked about is the mom’s friendship throughout the show. for example, there was clearly a strain in around season 5 with nias music career and kendall’s music career. Jill and Melissa seemed very annoyed with how holly talked so much about nias career. Was it faked for drama or real? Also the history of Melissa and Christi, they never had a great friendship since episode one. Another is season 8, bradys mom always had fights with the other mom. And Yolanda and Stacy. (if you already covered this can you tell me please)

Honestly, I feel bad for Abby's mother. Imagine building a studio up from scratch in the 60's, having it be successful, and then having it fall apart after Dance Moms. As twisted as it sounds I'm glad she wasn't around to see the scandal that happened when Abby landed in prison.

This is VERY standard practice because 90 percent of parents loose the link and message you after 5 mins of you waiting for your students saying please send the link again!

Dance Mechanics is still up to this day and people who used to go to ALDC do go there even some of the original 7 dance members like Mackenzie, Nia, and Maddie because Abby would use some of the teachers who were not on the show to choreograph solos and group dances. I know this because I used to go to ALDC and I now go to Dance Mechanics it is a wonderful studio and even though most of the teachers grew up with Abby none of them are ok with her actions and they do not replicate any of them

I noticed the singular small studio since I followed a bunch of the dance moms kids after the show ended, but the only videos I saw in there were usually the dance moms kids having privates and I had assumed it was just a small room specifically for privates, just never showed in filming since it would have been difficult to film in. The lack of transparency in their venue change definitely convinced me and probably a lot of other people that nothing had changed.
