I also was baptised Catholic as a baby, raised as a Jehovah’$ Witness for 16 years, left religion I thought for good, then when I turned 40, went a faith journey that took me back to Christ and the church He established….full circle to the Catholic Church. God bless.

There are elements of truth in all religions. Most faith is based in the luck of the draw. I often think if I were born in a different part of the world I could very well be a Muslim, a Hindu, a Buddhist, or something else. I can make arguments as to why Christianity is the religion closest to God's will, but that won't mean much to believers of other faiths. We have to accept people where they. It is better to accept them where they are rather than drive them away and out of our lives. Christianity is about loving the sinner and condemn the sins. Better to back off and continue to love than to force and become estranged. If Christianity is the Truth, then those who are willing to look will come to understand. We can guide, but we can't force. God Bless!

Welcome home to the faith! I’m a revert but was Protestant for many years. Looking back on my walk,as a Protestant I felt I was never encouraged to find out more about our Lord, except that which my Pastor’s wanted me to know and that was their opinion or interpretation of the Bible which was not always correct! As a Catholic I am encouraged to always seek truth which the more I learn the more I draw closer to our Lord! I love our faith. It is beautiful and very deep! And come to think about it, looking back on my days as a Protestant I do feel strongly one good reason many of those faiths preach Sola Scriptura, is they don’t want you to find Truth, that we have in Catholicism! 😜 because we have 2,000 years of knowledge and they don’t! We have accounts and we were taught by those who lived during the time of Jesus and they don’t! 😊 Our faith was founded by the Divine and their faiths were founded by a man or woman! 😜 Huge difference! Ty for your story! 🙏

    But I was barely practicing
One day when I was in my 20s
I got a new job. My co worker was
    Hard core Protestant
He laughed in my face when I told him
I was Catholic. So everyday for 5yrs
    We got into an argument.
He didn’t convert but two other
    Co workers did become Catholic.

After so many struggles and trials in life, Now I'm back and I get to know more and more about Mother Mary I'm kind of devoted with Mother of Perpetual Help ask her prayer and intercession to Our Lord Jesus and the Father. Now I can say I'm a proud Catholic and things are getting better at least for me spiritually. I'm kind resilient now when it comes temptations and struggles in life!💖 🙏

      1. Baptism (Matthew 28:19-20)
      2. Confirmation (Acts 8:14-17)
      3. Eucharist (Luke 22:19, 1 Corinthians 11:24)
      4. Penance and Reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:17-20, James 5:13-15, John 1:5-2:2)
      5. Anointing of the Sick (James 5:14-15)
      6. Holy Matrimony (Genesis 2:24)
      7. Holy Orders (Acts 6:3-6; 13:2-3; and 1 Timothy 3:1; 3:8-9; 4:16; 5:17-19; 5:22)
If any Church don't believe in all of these sacraments, they are from the devil and not from Christ our Lord.

    • @nightshade99
      @nightshade99 Год назад

@@ungas024 These "sacraments" ARE in scripture to a degree, but if you are thinking that they are NEEDED for salvation, YOU are in a cult.
It might seem by looking at these verses by themselves that, indeed, certain external actions do convey some benefit (such as eternal life, the forgiveness of sins, the presence or power of the Holy Spirit, etc.). However, when taken in the context of Scripture as a whole, there is no foundation for the belief that God ever intended these passages to be taken as support for rituals as a means of conveying grace. In other words, the whole idea of "sacraments" that convey saving grace upon people is unbiblical.
When one examines the sacraments, one finds that the belief that they convey "sanctifying grace" is not in keeping with the context of the rest of the Bible. Yes, all Christians should be baptized, but baptism does not infuse us with grace. Yes, all Christians should partake of the Lord’s Supper, but doing so does not confer sanctifying grace. Yes, we should confess our sins, not to a priest, but rather to God (1 John 1:9). Having a formal training program and formal acceptance into the church is a good thing to do, but it does not convey saving grace. Being approved as a church leader is an honorable thing, but it does not result in grace. Marriage is a wonderful and blessed event in the life of a couple, but it is not the means of how God graces us. Praying for and with a person who is dying is a godly thing to do - but it does not add grace to our account.
All the grace we will ever need is received the moment we trust Jesus, by faith, as Savior (Ephesians 2:8-9). The saving grace that is granted at the moment of genuine faith is the only saving grace God’s Word calls on us to receive. This grace is received by faith, not by observing rituals. So, while the seven sacraments are “good things to do,” when they are understood in a biblical context, the concept of the seven sacraments as “conferring sanctifying grace” is completely unbiblical.

I am a revert to the faith. I fell away in college and had a "born again" experience and within that year was introduced to Mormonism. I almost converted but couldn't over the doctrine of progression to godhood. I was devastated that I had all these feelings and was wrong. Became an atheist and dabbled in lots of things. I came back to faith in my late 20s and have spent many years back and forth in the Church and protestant churches. There are things I struggle with still but have been attending Mass and active in my local parish for a few years now. Even though I struggle, the idea of Jesus leaving a visible church (and the history that supports that) makes sense. I know God is faithful and will continue to help me work those struggles out!

Thank you so much for sharing your own story.
I was baptized Protestant but my parents never took us to church, nor did we ever pray as a family. I do rememver going to church whenever we visited my grandmother, until she couldn't walk properly anymore due to arthritis in her feet. I also use to go to church with a friend's family if I was spending the weekend with her. Not having a religious background really influenced my world view. I thought all religion was all a cult full of brainwashing. I found paganism in my late 20's and practised for many years, though never seriously. Something with it didn't sit right with me. What I think kept me in that community was the community itself and being able to talk to and hang out with like minded people. Then my first husband passed on suddenly which threw my whole outlook on spiritualism and religion into chaos. I started reading up on so many different religions trying to find one that would help me make sense of my first husband's dealth. Then I met my now husband, who is a non-practicing cradle Catholic. Through our talks when I found out his faith and learned what his own thoughts and believes are, I started to look into Catholicism more. I had looked into it before but something kept pushing me away from it. However, this time, the more I read and learned, the more I came to realize that I had found the one true church that explained my first husband's dealth and helped me to come to terms with it. For the last two years I have been learning more about the Catholic faith and have integrated prayer into my days through the Liturgy of the Hours and the Rosary. We are planning to move to the States (where my husband is from), hopefully soon. After we get settled I plan to find a church and start the process of becoming Catholic, along with attending mass and going to adoration regularly. My hushand and I were not married in a Catholic church, but in a civil ceremony. However, after my confirmation we plan to have our marriage recognized. I believe my growing faith has helped and is helping my husband to be brought back to the church too. He left as a teenager because he didn't feel the need to go to church all the time, though he still held a strong belief and faith in the Lord all these years.

A beautiful and sincere witness. Thank you Alexis. Personally I was raised Catholic but although my faith has always been strong, my understanding of it stagnated during my teenage years. I practised regularly still but under the misunderstandings created by the 'new Pentecost' that condones us in our sin or avoids addressing it altogether so I was really a bad Catholic. (Sinned much but loved much). I had my wake-up call from the Lord to get serious about 7 years ago. Like you the path we take is necessary and makes us the Catholics we become. The Lord is a gentle and loving master. You're so right to mention the reading: learning is one of the keys to growing in faith.

*R Catholicism has nothing to do with God and His Words. R Catholic Church contradicts Scriptures in every possible ways!*
      1. Catholics say Mary was sinless. But BIBLE says Mary offered a sinner's offering. She was a sinner. Bible says Mary needed a Saviour. Lk 2:23-24, Lev 12:6-8, Rom 3:10.
      2. Catholics say clergies must be celibate. Yet BIBLE says Peter (supposed R Church first leader) had mother in law. Bible says celibacy is not a qualification for clergies. Mat 8:14-15, Mar 1:30-31, Luk 4:38-39.
      3. Catholics say Mary was forever virgin. Yet BIBLE says Jesus had brothers and sisters. Mary was not perpetually virgin. Mk 6:3, Mat 13:55, Mat 27:56, Mar 6:3, Mar 15:40, Mar 15:47.
      4. Catholics say confess to R priests in a box. BIBLE says nothing about confessing to priests in a box. Bible says confess to GOD only. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6, Romans 10:9-10.
      5. Catholics say drink of the physical blood of Jesus. Yet OT and NT both say do not drink blood. Acts 15, Lev 7:26.
      6. Catholics say pray to passed on Mary and "saints". Yet BIBLE says do not contact the dead. NT Church did not record a single case of NT believers asking passed on saints to pray for them. Deut 18:11, Isaiah 8:19.
      7. Catholics make and bow down to statues. BIBLE says do not bow down to graven images (statues). Deut 4, Exo 20:4-5.
      8. Catholics sprinkles “holy water”. But NT Church of the Bible mentioned nothing about “holy water”. There was no record of any Apostles sprinkling “holy water” on believers. Catholics claimed “holy water” came from OT. Yet Num 5:17 says “holy water” was water used to test adulterous women in OT temple. Hardly the same. Those were for Old Covenant Jews. Not New Testament Christians.
      9. Catholics say Peter was pope - bishop of all bishops. Yet BIBLE says Peter was just a leader of the Jerusalem Church. Bible says nothing of the office of bishop of bishops. Gal 2:9, Mat 16:18.
      10. Catholics say there is a seat of Peter. Yet BIBLE says nothing about it. Jesus said “not to lord over others”.
      11. Catholics has clergy priesthood. Bible says clergy priesthood was done away with in New Testament. There is no clergy priesthood in NT. Heb 7:27, 9:12, 10:10.
      12. Catholics preaches Works Salvation (faith + good works + partake R sacraments + submit to R pontiff + be in R Church + devote to Mary = to be saved). Yet Bible says “believe in Jesus to be saved”. Bible says Works Salvation is cursed. Gal 1:8-9. Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10.
      13. Catholics says they must do Penance to atone for their sins. Yet Bible says repent, confess and sins will be forgiven. Catholic Bible changes the word “repentance” in NT into “penance”. Original Greek NT does not use or mean the word penance. Penance = work to atone for sins. Repentance = change of heart. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6.
      14. Catholics say Mary went straight to heaven without dying. Yet Bible says nothing about it.
      15. Catholics say Islam and Christianity have the same GOD. Yet Islam doesn't believe in death and resurrection of Jesus and Trinity.

@@luisaymerich9675 .thanks a lot for replying, actually turah&bible were from god but they had been corrupted afterwards as a result god sent down quran upon prophet muhammed&god said i`ll preserved the quran thereby god had fulfilled ,let me show u friendly&honestly the truth, okee dokee.sheding the light on christianity to know the truth first of all there is no original bible the 4 main bible are contradicted to each other yet there is 1 quran but who is the writer of bible the answer is paul the jewish who hates jesus let us discuss about the significant event which is crucifixion why does your claimed god left his only son to crucify without any sin he had committed the disaster reached its uttermost when u found bible said on the tongue of jesus my god my god why do u forsaken me means jesus never crucified willingly have u an idea why do they crucify jesus because it`s a penalty of impure &particularly crucifixion because dindn`t touched the earth make it impured that what paul said jeasus get impure for us &see the authentic god what does said in quran chapter 3 verse 55 by the name of god the most gracious&most merciful ,
O Jesus, I will take you and raise you up to me, and purify you from those who disbelieve, and He will place those who follow you above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection, then to Me is your return, so I will judge between you regarding that in which you differed, the authentic god rose jesus to the sky before they kill him in addition he had purified him from a false accusation that he is impure, let alone of many verses in the bible incites to violence thus u found the largest massacres had happened in history the ww1&2 christian countries against christian countries 100 millions had been killed not to mention the sex stories in the bible nay u never found a single sex word in quran, don`t take it in personal just i clarify u the plain truth, bible said woman when she during the menstruation she gets impure &any thing she would touched it will be impure &should stay at her room till had done of it don`t see that an insulting to woman &how does the claimed god in bible said so he demeans& underrates his own creatures, yet islam honored the woman &she has a complete chapter its name women show us her rights, let us look at modern medicine which refutes the bible, ovulalation happens every 28 days from overy next month from other ovary when fertilization fails to happen mestrual bleading happens it always stops when a female gets pregnant ,menstrual cycle ovulation the female genital system consists of one uterus to overuse vagine& externat genital organs ,,the blood during menstruation could cause diseases to spread and that’s why a woman during her menstruation needed to isolate so the blood would not be passed around to other people And diseases not be spread that`s what god said in quran and they ask you about menstruation say, isolate women don't come near them untill they get purified verse 222 chapter 2,why there are priests, pastors&nuns reverted daily to islam, yet u never a muslim clergy left islam as per western media said that islam is the fastest growing religion in the world,i didn`t like to push islam onto u god said no compulsion in religion verse 256 chapter 2,figure it out then make up your mind ruclips.net/video/LEKgxZbFG_k/видео.html

Great story. Do you think the fact that you were baptized had an impact on your receptivity to Catholicism? I was born Catholic but did not practice. I attended CCD and received the sacraments, but did not take church serious. I dabbled in everything before concluding the Apostolic tradition was genuine, that the primacy of Peter matters, and that Christ really did start the Church. But I have to wonder how much of my journey was directed supernaturally and what role the sacraments played.

    • @ourheartsrestless
      @ourheartsrestless  2 года назад +3

      Hi Lou,
Coming out of Mormonism and into Atheism really made me skeptical of everything. Like I said in the video, I didn't want to be wrong again. So Catholicism, the 'church that wants to control everyone for power', as I thought it was, was not of interest to me at all. I knew next to nothing (of the truth) about Catholicism despite being baptized as a baby. I wanted nothing to do with a 'backward' religion. It was my husband who started it all. 😄
But with the guidance of my husband, who is very much into history, I learned the truth. As I started to learn more about the true history of the church, miracles, apparitions, lives of the saints, the presence of Christ in the Eucharist, the Primacy of Peter, I couldn't help but conclude that the Catholic Church is true. Of course, prayer and the grace of God was also a great part of it. Plus, out of all other Christian denominations, the Catholic Church is the only one that claims to be _the_ Church founded by Christ. It makes sense that since there is one God, one Saviour, that there can only be one Church. (This, I think, is part of the reason why I thought it made sense to be Mormon. Mormonism also claims that it is 'the Church'.)
I will definitely do a follow up video to this one. A few close friends as well as a few people in the comments have asked for more detail. It was just not possible to do in 10 minutes. 😅
If you have anything you think I should address in the follow up video, please, let me know.
      God bless.

*TRUE AND POWERFUL CONVERSION STORY AMD A GREAT MIRACLES, OF A GREAT SINNER!
    March, 2022
Thank GOD for our LADY of GUADALUPE; when I visited her Shrine in Mexico in Dec. 2012, and I was suffering at the time of "Sleep Apenea" I was healed really while still there - FRARNKLY, my first intensions were to honor her.
†Also, when I prayed few Rosaries to help me to quit smoking cigaretes on May 17, 1998, she answered my prayers immediately, though I was SUPER skeptical at that time, (prv 3: 5)
†Truly, when I was inspired to recite one single Rosary in December 12, 2000, I was healed from my unbelief (Jn. 14: 1) - and I tried at the time first to pray OUR FATHER, but I couldn't remember the prayer; but GOD still saved me (Jn 14:15 - 27)! Also During my first Rosary procession outdoors in May 13, 2001, I saw Queen of the Holy Rosary walking with us for 4-5 seconds; And she had long, dark, blue dress & absolutely attractive one.
†Since my conversion, I try NOT to miss attending Masses weekly or daily etc. And I pray the Devine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00pm, and I NEVER miss it.
†UNDOUBTLY, Reading & meditating on "Gospel of life" according to the daily readings is like my "daily bread" And I read the Bible from cover to cover 3 times since my conversion! & I read the CCC as well, (Is. 55: 10 -11). Also, I like to what some one says: every winter turns into spring. But "The fool says in his heart, "There is no God" (Ps.14:1)
†Unfortunately, many "Catholics don't know what they have, and Evangelicals don't know what they are missing!"
†And I used to attend few different Evangelical Churches for a few years searching for TRUTH while residing in Stockholm & they opened my eyes a LITTLE bid to the facts of faith at the time.
† God is still in the miracle buisness. And thank God for the ROSARY miracle prayer, etc.(Ps. 107:13- 14
†"This is the day which GOD hath made a day for us to REJOICE & be GLAD" - Ps.118: 2
†By Saba Korial, & I was born in Middle East, now Canadian & Christian CATHOLIC & part of 1.360 Million world wide Catholics. (2 Tm 2:4 & 4:7). Note that the Name of God is mentioned 3 times while praying the ROSARY as follow: first the LORD, then Jesus & GOD (RV 3:10).
    † "Brothers & sisters pray for me that I may NOT flee for fear of wolves"(TERRORISTES)." - Acts (20: 23 - 24)
†"A believer sees more on his knees than a philosopher sees on his tiptoes" D.L. Moody

      Hi Jared,
Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. 🙂
In short, I believe in the Catholic Church because it is true. But there are reasons why I am convinced it is so.
I made a video about Why I am Catholic and not “just Christian” where I talk about the Eucharist and the Papacy a bit: ruclips.net/video/69U_iwbp4eo/видео.html
These were big factors. It made sense to me that if God were to establish a church He would only establish one. And when Jesus said, this is My body and this is My blood, He meant what He said.
The lives of the Saints like Saint Maximillien Kolbe, Saint Augustine, Saint Monica, Saint Bernadette, Saint Joan of Arc, Saint Maria Goretti, The Cristeros in Mexico, among countless others. Their lives were so inspiring and humbling. It is through these Saints lives we see Jesus. They are the fruits of the Catholic Church.
The many apparitions of Our Lady like in Fatima, Lourdes, and Zeitoun. The fact that these apparitions were documented in secular newspapers and were witnessed by Catholics and non-Catholics was mind blowing to me at the time I was converting. Praying the rosary to ask Our Dear Mother Mary for her intercession tremendously helped me become even more devout to Christ.
The Latin Mass also played a big role in my conversion and I talk about that here: ruclips.net/video/jTF8neVE4Y4/видео.html
There are many more reasons but, the Catholic Church is true. It is what has brought out and still continues to bring out Truth, Beauty & Goodness in the world. It is The Church and it truly is Catholic.
If you don’t mind me asking, are you Catholic? If so, what convinced you? If not, what is something that doesn’t make sense to you or you don’t agree with?
      God bless,
      Alexis

@@ourheartsrestless It is odd because I started this journey being very critical about the Bible (love how the Catholic NABRE is just as critical and rigorous), studying the best secular arguments against it while also reading the most critical of commentaries on the development of Mormonism ( and listening to heaps of Mormon Stories if you are familiar) and yet I still ended up with a testimony of the LDS Church. I have always felt the Spirit, you can say, while spending time in Mormonism (since I was 17 up to now being 32). I have seen the Church bring out some of the best in humanity and I think that is down to the teachings of the church and the emphasis on activity as the way to live out the gospel as a member of the Church (illustrated best in the video Meet the Mormons).
Now, I do not believe the Catholic Church is “untrue” or any great apostasy non-sense. I think it is an equally venerable tradition and I still love a good Mass and praying Catholic prayers with the rosary…and of course reading keeping up with the teaching of Pope Francis and reading Catholic theological works. I have kept a lot of my Catholicism intact, but my primary loyalty and the bulk of my lives faith is in the LDS Church.

Salvation by (works (7sacraments) +faith) was never in the Bible. Real salvation is by grace through faith as seen in Bible. 11. Rosary, set repetitive prayers, hail Mary 10000 times12. Mass - putting Christ on the altar again and again13. Mary as queen of heaven 14. Mary as Ark of the new covenant. 15. Mary as the mother of heavenly Jesus thus Mary exist before Christ16. Immersion of infant for baptism17. Holy water18. Celibacy of priests (no office of priests in NT anyway, only priesthood of all believers)19. Kissing of statues20. Changing of 10 commandments. COmmandment of graven image removed by Catholic CHurch in Catholic Catechism. Splitting of another commandment into 2 commandments. 21. Catholic church changed Bible verse Gen 3:15 (And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."). 'He' and 'His' referring to Christ.
Catholics changed it to (Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; She shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise Her heel.") 'She' and 'Her' refers to Mary. 22. Catholic Church use Rev 12 to refer to Mary as 'queen of heaven', when Rev 12:6 clearly refers to Israel escaping the Great Tribulation. Mary cannot be alive to escape the Great Tribulation. 23. Catholic Church refers to Mary as 'Queen of heaven', but 'Queen of Mary' in the Bible is a demonic entity Astoreth or Ishtar, the female deity partner of Baal. 5 verses in Jeremiah as proof.24. Catholic church refers to Mary as the Mediatress, Co redemptress, helper of Christ, firstborn of all creation ..
Mary cannot be the mediatress. Jesus is the one and only Mediator between God and man. Only Jesus redeems. Only the Holy Spirit is the Helper sent by Jesus. Only Jesus is the firstborn of all creation. 25. Roman Catholicism has “saints” one can pray to in order to gain a particular blessing. For example, Saint Gianna Beretta Molla is the patron saint of fertility. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals. There are multiple patron saints of healing and comfort.
Nowhere is even a hint of this taught in Scripture. Just as the Roman pantheon of gods had a god of love, a god of peace, a god of war, a god of strength, a god of wisdom, etc., so the Catholic Church has a saint who is “in charge” over each of these and many other categories. Many Roman cities had a god specific to the city, and the Catholic Church provided “patron saints” for cities as well.26. Mary is called the gate of heaven? Mary has keys to paradise?
Here are roman pagan teachers saying their man made goddess is their savior. None of these quotes have been denounced, on the contrary they are cited.
"Open to us, O Mary, the gate of Paradise, since you have its keys! " St. Ambrose
"God has entrusted the keys and treasures of Heaven to Mary." St. Thomas Aquinas
"No one can enter into Heaven except through Mary, as entering through a gate. " St. Bonaventure
"Mary is called "The Gate of Heaven" because no one can enter Heaven but through her means." St. Alphonsus Maria Liguori

@David Alge *Bible does not say listen to R Catholic Church. You are misquoting Scriptures.*
*Bible says even NT Church appealed to "what God says and said" for doctrines. Acts 15.*
*Even nt Church of the Bible (Apostles and elders) appealed to the Word of God for determination of doctrines in Acts 15. The council did not decide based on their own words; neither on traditions of Pharisees or Moses. They based their decisions on "WHAT GOD SAID". Yes they met at Jerusalem council Acts 15 to discuss. But they appeal to what God says. Using God's word to decide what to do!*
*Bible says decision was made by Apostles and elders. Not single leader Peter!! (let alone pope). Acts 15:6, 16:4.*
Act 15:6 Now the *apostles and elders* came together to consider this matter.
Act 16:4 And as they went through the cities, they delivered to them the decrees to keep, which were *determined by the apostles and elders* at Jerusalem.
*1. Peter appealed using what God told him:*
to him rgd his vision of the clean and unclean animals in Acts 10..
    That gentiles are accepted.
Act 10:13 And a voice came to him, "Rise, Peter; kill and eat."
Act 10:14 But Peter said, "Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean."
Act 10:15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed you must not call common."
Act 15:7 And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: "Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.
*2. James appealed using the Word of God:*
Act 15:13 And after they had become silent, James answered, saying, "Men and brethren, listen to me:
Act 15:14 Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name.
Act 15:15 And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:
    Act 15:16 'AFTER THIS I WILL RETURN AND WILL REBUILD THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID, WHICH HAS FALLEN DOWN; I WILL REBUILD ITS RUINS, AND I WILL SET IT UP;
Act 15:17 SO THAT THE REST OF MANKIND MAY SEEK THE LORD, EVEN ALL THE GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, SAYS THE LORD WHO DOES ALL THESE THINGS.'
Act 15:18 "Known to God from eternity are all His works.
Act 15:19 Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God,
*3. Apostles Barnabas and Paul appealed to the “works of GOD done on the Gentiles”.*
Act 15:12 Then all the multitude kept silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring how many miracles and wonders God had worked through them among the Gentiles.
