This is going to come down to cardio and grappling. They’re both too defensively sound and too important of a fight to look for KO’s and risky shots. No doubt it will go to the floor and either late TKO or early to late submission

As a huge Islam fan, I'm a bit worried about this match, but hopefully Islam will prepare well for this Fight.
Because as we know, for Dustin this fight is :
!. The last chance for him to fight for the title because one of the obstacles is the age of 35 years.
2. This fight is a life-or-death fight for Dustin, whether he will end his dream or career history here or will achieve his dream and create a new story in his career history.
3. It is certain that Dustin will prepare very well for this match, Dustin would rather go to sleep or broke his arm than have to Tap because of gave up.
4. Dustin will go all out in this match, because for him, it's “Now or never”.
5. And of course one thing we can never deny is Fate or luck, everything happens sometimes beyond our expectations as humans, because the fate of every human being goes according to the will of the creator.

Justin shouldn't have fought max. Even though it looked like a winnable fight, it was risky. The spinning back kick by max at the end of the first round compromised justin for the rest of the fight.

At the end of the day. Islam is the most well rounded mma fighter in the world. His striking defense is seriously high level, his clinch game is brutal with knees and sweeps, his ground game is elite, his transitions and scrambles, Islam is just as good as it gets. Dustin poirior is an absolute dog, but there isn't much he can do in my opinion, the fight is going to have that same khabib comparison where people are gonna be talking how long can Dustin keep it on the feet, cause that's his only chance of winning

I agree with Anthony Smith. Islam is a better mixed martial artist in terms of his skillset but Khabib was much more dominant. Despite how his record looks he has had moments of vulnerability. Was taken down by Thiago Moises, took a knee when he ran into Davi Ramos’ jab, Volk looked really good against Islam and even dropped him in the final round, and he was infamously knocked out by Adriano Martins. So yes it isn’t as cookie cutter as everyone thinks it is but with that being said I think Islam wins even though I love DP, he’s just far too much of an elite grappler for DP and isn’t bad defensively like BSD was.

Yeah, because of his fighting style, he's willing to take risks.. unlike khabib with all out pressure because khabib just needs to stand up to jab and faint for the takedown..Islam can do just like Khabib, but he chooses different style but still "Father's Plan" in his mind..

Anthony really surprised me sometimes. Some days he says stupid things, and articulates the most logical and reasonable analysis. He really hit the target about Islam being more skilled than Khabib but more susceptible to lose vs Dustin due to his willingness to try and trade punches. Dustin could really do some miracles there.

I feel Islam will smother Poirier. As much as a fan i am of Dustin, the level of wrestling experience and islams evolved striking are both very bad combinations for Dustin’s style. Dustin has that KO power and some decent jiu jitsu, but he definitely isn’t defensively the best grappler on the ground. I want poirier to win but have to pick with makhachev for this one unfortunately.
