    • @solandri69
      @solandri69 2 года назад +7

      I checked the coordinates in Google Maps street view. It looks like the speed limit in that stretch of I-40 is 70 MPH. Cammer's GPS read 74-75 MPH while pacing the cop car. The SUV passed the cop at a fair bit of speed, so it was probably going 80-85 MPH. Kinda marginal for a ticket, but it would seem to comply with the "10+ MPH over the speed limit" rule of thumb for getting a ticket.

    • @locus2k
      @locus2k 2 года назад +7

      it’s a duck move by the cop. it clearly states that the left lane is for passing only and the cop wasn’t passing. i got out of a ticket by bringing this up. a cop was doing 60 in the left lane when the limit was 65. i passed on the right and got pulled over. he asked if i know why i was pulled over in which i replied “probably for passing on the right but you were not passing anyone and in fact we’re impeding the flow of traffic. the left lane is for passing only and you weren’t passing anyone.” he let me go lol

      Totally agree. If someone is camping in the left lane, even if they’re going slightly over the speed limit, others will often speed up to 10-15 over to get around them when they have a gap in the right lane and then slow back down to a more reasonable speed once they e completed the pass. Total BS on the cops part.
