Thank you for the video that does a great job to keep your blades in great shape
The cooks blade sharpener snd setter is a very nice quality built tool to keep your blades in good shape , and also saves you a lot of money on purchasing new blades all the time. Appreciate you watching and commenting Sir. Thank you and take care
I have always sent my blades back to Woodmizer to sharpen. I have always been curious how it is done. Thank you for making this video, now I know how it’s done. Very interesting video.
Thank you very much Sir. Appreciate you watching and learning how it’s done. I sent one box back to woodmizer and didn’t like them when I got them back, they sharpened them and set the teeth but didn’t de-burr them. If you don’t de-burr them after sharpening then the burr will give u a false reading on the set. That’s why I bought my own stuff to do it with. Thank you
Thanks for breaking down the sharpening process. I had to watch it a second time to see how the cam was lifting the grinding stone up and down. I missed that the first time. Hopefully your phone didn't become a snack for the inspector. 🐱
Thank you for watching Mr.Hamilton
Yes Sir. The came is like egg shaped and it is what lifts and lowers the grinding wheel in a certain way to match the shape of the blade. The blades have degree , depth ,angle and the cams are shaped to the pacific blade design. So if you are like
Me and have a bunch of different degree of blades you have to have cams made at cooks sawmill company for each one.
Appreciate it Mr.Hamilton and hope that explains a little more .
Thanks for the tour. Sharp bands saw faster and flatter regardless of the hook angle.Catch you later.

Appreciate you watching and
Commenting . Take care
I learned a lot and can see how many adjustments you have to make for each blade type. Makes sense that you want to sharpen all one type, then move on. Why do the use different ones? Wood type, cut, etc?
I’m glad I could show you how it performed and you got to learn a little about it. There are many different type of blades. Different thickness , degrees , tooth pitch , gullet , teeth type , blade metal , tipping and on and on.. 😂 to many to list and a lot to process when ordering blades. And you also got to match the blades to the horse power of your mill and what species you are milling. It’s about matching everything up to cut with ease and smooth. About like matching everything up to one of your printers… appreciate you watching Mr.Wilson and if you can think of anything else please don’t hesitate to ask. Take care Sir.
@@MsdMakingSawDust Makes sense, depends on the specifics of the moment. I'm experimenting with different nozzle sizes, the bigger the faster I can print, but with some loss of precision. Like changing the size of a marker from a small to a very large. I think the videos that show how things are done will be popular.
Newbie to sharpening...Does the sharpener know how many teeth to do and shut off automatically or is it the inspectors job to shut it off?
That would be the inspectors job. But I’ve had to get in there and take control. I just mark where I started and then go set the teeth on a blade that has been sharpened.
And by that time I usually got a min or two.
Appreciate you watching and anymore information you would like please ask.
Take care
how do you change the angle of the stone for different bands
They send you a stone shaper with the sharpener when you get it. And you very so lightly have to shape to make it fit the profile of a blade once you get the profile of a blade you don’t have to shape it anymore. Unless you’re grind rock is not hitting the complete blade profile. If your asking about sharpening a 7 deg blade and then a 10 deg blade ? There’s is a setting on the back of the machine that you set your deg to. I shaped my grind rock onetime since I bought my machine. If you go to cooks sawmill on RUclips there is a lot of videos on the cat claw sharpener.
Appreciate you watching and asking the question.
I'm interested in buying one of these. It's just I do alot of change overs. Want to know how easy or hard it is.
Currently have a woodmizer outage sharpener. Works good but want to get another. Have you found any wear items that you should keep these parts on hand? Thank you for you time, Zack
Think you would be ever be interested in selling your grinder?
No Sir. I don’t think I will sell it as long as I own a sawmill. It’s saved me a lot of money
By resharpening my own blades. Appreciate you watching and asking the question.
@@MsdMakingSawDust Reason for asking is I am Canadian and we get hit with tax plus import fees but if someone can find one used one can save on that if you ever hear of one let me know! Appreciate it! Marc G.
There was a guy in Richmond va selling his
I’ll see if I can find the add and send it to you
I looked got the guys add on Facebook market place , he took it off it was sold .
