Operator Replacement Suggestions (ORS):
Melantha: Any Guard.
Amiya: Guard class, S2.
Yato: Any Fast Re-Deploy.
Gravel: Any Fast Re-Deploy.
Spot: Any Healing Defender.
Sussurro: Any E2+ ST Medic or AOE Medic.
Meteor: Recommended due to defense break. Any E2+ Sniper.
Plume: Any Operator with Average or Fast redeployment times.
Cardigan: Any Defender with high HP. Matterhorn recommended.
Gavial: Warfarin, or E2+ Medic with high HP (when using Perfumer).
Thorns: Skill 3, level 7. Mastery required if not using a Sniper to help DPS.
Perfumer: Recommended due to passive. Nightingale will clutch this stage.

Gravel was my very first assistant. I only changed her out because I discovered my love for Specter. But tbh, Gravel has been the absolute MVP for stages like this.

Talulah burns the last *2* operators. The explosion can be deadly if operators beside each other have the burning effect. She applies burning more often in phase 2. Ideally, it's best to kill her before she spawns the second set of crystals, otherwise this increases the stage difficulty.

Hey Ecko, what's the reason behind replacing Amiya when Talulah is at 40% Hp in phase 1? Why can't we just kill her? Can you please explain this mechanic?
@@LustyHeart_ probably so amiya has enough cd to be redeployed along with the other ops. If you kill her immediately click amiya and the rest of the ops dont have time to deploy so kaschey will do 3-5 fire crystal that WILL ruin your run. Thats why u retreat amiya early and kill her before 3rd crystal wave
For this stage I found Specter to be the best bodyguard. She can easily protect an entire lane, and that's all you need if you have Thorns where Spot is in this video.
Seaborne Skadi also helps this stage
Try putting the fire out with water, it helped A LOT

Some tips:
1. If your Thorns has higher lv and or skill mastery than the video, pull Amiya earlier, or you won't have enough time to redeploy her.
2. If you fail no. 1, AND have Surtr (I recommend S3M3 for safety) AND borrowed the said Thorns, Surtr can clutch for Amiya until her expiration time. Just mind the burn and the fast redeps, don't want Thorns to catch the burn & die from the final fire wave. No use defeating Talulah if your lines leak.
3. Matterhorn (E1 max) and Nightingale (E2 rec.) really hold the line against the flame dragon.

Tysm for these tips! I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong, but it was a max level M3 Thorns indeed... Talulah dies too fast, and Amiya has 20+ sec till redeploy when Tal resurrects. Sadly, I don't have Surtr (and borrowing Thorns). My only other arts guard is E1 Mousse. I will try stalling with her
@@Kyokka Hello there! Idk about your roster, but a Specter S2 or Spalter S2 can help stalling. Mostima with her schwing schwing S3 can also help. Some comments down there also says that Lumen (S3 iirc) can remove Tal's fire. Hope this helps.
@@N3utr4l1 I was considering Specter S2 myself (don't have Spalter, Mostima or Lumen). I was planning to level her up some more anyway, so I'll try to, thank you! It will take time, as I also have to E2 my Gavial replacement (Warfarin), or she doesn't survive.
@@Kyokka if u're not there during Stultifera (n the rerun), Lumen should be available when there's record restoration. Meanwhile, if u're there during Virtuosa event, Lessing S3 can help stall Tal too.
@@N3utr4l1 I am waiting for Lumen in record restoration, sigh. I have Lessing, but completely unbuilt and wasn't planning to build him anytime soon. My Specter is E2 lv10 atm, I will raise her up a bit and try once I E2 Warfarin (need 120k lmd, so, somewhere during Shu's event, I believe).

A tip if you had a Thorms M3 (maybe support): Dont put Amiya on 2:42 (skip this and put cardigan directly), and never use amiya skill and get a support (or 12thslot) to stole a few ( 5:02)

@@Eckogen Sussurro really makes it work with her skill, she's lowkey among the best healers for difficult stages where burst healing is needed.

But she can do it by herself.

Great guide man. I just brute force the heck out Kaschey with SA, Surtr, Ceobe, and Exu. Worked for me in both modes.
Great guide. I used Beanstalk instead of plume, since her metal crab has no additional cost and eats another hit of fire. She even lives long enough to get some bonus CP.
Thanks for the guide! I added Surtr to my team for tanking the flame barrage. With S3 she can basically tank one lane for the entire duration, so the second lane isn't under that much pressure. There's enough time to use her for both waves.
I'm a year late, but i finally did it Mr. Ecko! Nightingale helped out a lot on mitigating the arts dmg from the flames, and her birdcage (along with Gravel and Yato) baited out the fire debuffs. I borrowed someone's Thorns to deal with the mob while my E2 Lv 70 Guard Amiya dueled Talulah.

Phantom is a good call in place of Yatto as he can be used to do the double Gravel+yato sections on his own, allowing for easier Cycles.
Gravel and Gavial tanking those ignitions like a champ. I'm impressed.

you are the bloody best my guy i have been stuck on this mission for the past month
If you have Silverash, place him below the bottom-most blue box looking up and S3 will wipe out the crystals, with the exception of the bottom-left crystal. You can also use Nightingale's E2 talent to taunt the boss' fire and/or crystal if needed.
So... turns out E290 Silverash S3M3 is NOT a replacement for Thorns. Damage wasn't enough to handle a leaker in the first part. and I couldn't fit in a Sniper to help. So I had to do several risky things... Myrtle for DP (and her S2), and I replaced Yato with... S1 Blaze. Placed behind my Gummy. And in place of Gravel... Phantom that I just fully maxed.
...and it was still a messy affair that I barely pulled off since my Phantom was using S2M3 at the time - him and Silverash together were able to end the boss and, most importantly, help cleanup the rest.

For new players. Perfumer E1 max is enough (since Ecko has E2 here), max trust and lvl 7 skill.
If you borrowed max Thorns S3M3. Dont deploy Amiya in the first Talulah fight. Skip it and use Cardigan because Thorns have enough damage to solo kill Talulah. Use Amiya on Talulah's second life kill her fast so youll only need to deal with first wave of crystals.
Bring extra fast redeploy to save Gavial from getting ignited twice. She might die (Happened to me so I brought Projekt Red E0 lvl 1)

Thanks so much for this video. Had to use Thorns as a support since I don't have him and add Projekt Red to fill the vacant spot. Took me about five tries to to get it right.
After months of delaying and prepping for this, I finally cleared it. Gravel truly is the MVP of this map.

Bro, Thorns such a reliable operator seriously. You put him there, he clears all the wave so you can focus on Talulah's bullshit without a worry.
I want to ask, how does Talulah flame debuff works? It is in pulses but how do you understand the pulses? Like last 2 operators and then operators before those 2?
She casts burn on the last 2 operators and and won't cast on operators with existing burn. So, if you don't manage the burn eventually everyone on the squad will rotate through with it.

Less is more on this stage, you can undeploy the whole lane that doesn't have thorns once the boss fight starts. I used e2 support thorns, E1 ifrit, e1 gummy/spot/gravel, hibiscus, ansel, and the rest E0 1s for cheap DP. Awesome level, Arknights was great. I'm glad this stage doesn't punish you for having low levels like annihilation 4&5 did.

I dont understand, what is condition is secret unlocks?
My Perfumer is E1 Max, but both Gavial and Sussaro are E2 Lvl 10-20, is E2 Perfumer specifically requiered? (I spent all my Medic Chips and Loxic Kohl on them, so I can't E2 her atm)
I'd E1 max Sussurro. E2 Perfumer isn't needed.

Sweet mother of Ecko, I *finally* managed to clear this. It was pure and unadulterated *hell* , but I managed to find another Thorns after many, many friend support refreshes. This time I didn't waste him and instead spent a ton of practice plans until at last I managed to successfully alter Eckogen's strategy for my team.
First, it's impossible to deploy the fist three operators if you use anyone that costs more DP than those three Eckogen used, because Thorns will die if the AoE medic isn't deployed fast enough. What I did to remedy that was deploy my E2 lvl 40 S1M3 Elysium before Thorns, to the left of the first deployment in the video. Then I activated Elysium's skill, which allowed me to deploy Thorns > Saria > Nightingale > Sussurro. You have to deploy Elysium to the left of Thorns and before him to tank a few hits until he dies to Talulah's flames, otherwise Thorns dies literally a second before you deploy Nightingale.
After that, everything went exactly the same as in the video, except when it came to Guard Amiya. When I tried deploying her like Eckogen did at around 2:39 into the video, the DPS provided by her and the friend support Thorns was too much due to the friend support Thorns being S3M3, so I wasn't able to retreat Guard Amiya in time to redeploy her when Talulah revives at around 4:05 into the video. What I did to remedy that was deploy Matterhorn straght away instead of Guard Amiya to tank Talulah's first phase, since that would reduce the DPS and allow me to save Guard Amiya for Phase 2. Also, for some reason my Gavial died during my actual run when she first got burned by Talulah instead of barely surviving like Eckogen's, probaly due to RNG or some crap like that. Thankfully, Matterhorn was tanky enough to survive Talulah's Phase 1 onslaught even without Gavial's healing, so I just redeployed her later on.
The rest of the stage went as planned, and I'm glad I'm finally done with this. I'm *not* looking forward to the challenge mode, though...

I don't have thorns so I checked out Kyo's in conjunction with this guide. Interesting takeaways: Can do a 2 medic or 3 medic setup. Can use two+ fast redeploys to bait all the ignites, or just one to let some ops get burned (such as in this guide). Thorns here is providing DPS for both top and bottom left lanes. (Kyo's guide adds a ranged DPS to help). I used SilverAsh and Lappland (instead of Thorns) and it worked. As a commenter suggested, I used Mousse instead of Guard Amiya. Darn HG for making this a freakin farming stage (this is like making 7-18 a farming stage, thank god they didnt lol). Thanks to all!!!!

This stage is a nightmare when played on potato phone, such as the one I currently use. That and I can't seem to get the timing right to retreat Guardmiya for the first time so she isn't available yet when Talulah revives.
Also this stage is best played on 1x speed to get the timing for the ignite baits correctly.
If you have Thorn(SK3, LV7, M3), then at 2:41, just use cardigan instead of Guard Amiya, Thorn can finish the job
No secret ending if you don't use Guard Amiya tho.
@@Milenos You can get secret ending at normal mode. If I remember correctly this vid is for challenge mode since i always lost following his vid, so I have to do minor changes
@@jackyhan6199 The title literally say Secret ending, Also challenge mode doesnt do much in this stage, it increase the Energy Aggregates damage, which are destroyed before they can do so. But yeah timing sometime is a bitch, so adjustement must be made.

Edit: I just completed it. It was very underwhelming, but I already faced and beat the seaborn, all bosses are underwhleming now.
i h8 this shit so much...after allmost a year of "i dont look guides cause i cool n all!" i ended up here,god i h8 the combiz of this stage so damn much!!i really hope that theres nothing like this onwrds.i dont mind hard af stages but this stage hazard+burn gimmic+2 stage boss+hard hitting boss+ fast enemies when one shot mechanics go off+ etc.... is kinda insane.
The requirement to unlock EG4 is to clear this stage with guardmiya right? But if we just bring her and not literally attack Talulah with Amiya, is that ok?
She only needs to be in squad.
I was THIS CLOSE to fucking it all up near the end. I used Melantha instead of Cardigan to tank the last burn, and all my healers (Including Spot) died when the crystals exploded, while Thorns killed Talulah, triggering the fireballs. Luckily I brought Lancet since I had a free spot and it allowed Thorns to survive (with help from Gravel and Vigna's faces) in time for me to redeploy my healers.
My hands are trembling as I type this, and so are Ch'en's in the story.
For those with a dp problem at the start you can just use Myrtle’s skill like once or twice then you’ll be fine
I don't have Thorns. Can I replace Thorns with Lappland?
I know this video is a couple years old, but I'm finally motivated to attempt this stage again and need some advice. My question is: Who is a good female replacement for Thorns? (I don't use any male Ops) The only similar Ops I have are E2 Lappland and E2 Frostleaf for the range but they probably lack the DPS and defense to survive.
Blaze is fine, but you need to figure out DPS for the boss since Thorns was helping.
@@Eckogen I did some experimenting with Surtr and she bonks the bad dragon into submission with the help of Saria blocking. I'll give it another try with Blaze though so I can get a support free run locked in. Thanks!
This stage is definitely hellish, especially with those burning background in the beginning. Once the big boss is defeated it's just a normal stage with some annoying mobs. Had to modify a bit of your strats as I can't get the timing to retreat and redeploy Guardmiya due to the support Thorns being quite powerful.
Took me like a bit more than a year to catch up with the latest main story arc.

Around 21/40 my amiya does not have enough redeployment time to get her out on time. Does it have to do with burn since Ive had multiple slip ups due to lacking in redeployment time

@Chrismon Erick it won't work, tanks don't have enough damage to kill the enemies on top lane if you don't use Thorns. Just borrow one.

very important that was mentioned but i must say it again, if your thorns is M3 instead of deploying amiya then cardigan, stay with cardigan, thorn deals way too much damage too quickly.

My thorns keeps on killing tallulah too early cause trust lv 90 and skill level can I just not use amiya at that part and use cardigan instead since thorns may possibly take care of tallulah or is there a time limit?
Its actually working but I ended up zoning out from retrying it so much so forgot to redeploy gravel multiple times

Somehow, my Amiya was too strong, and I forgot to switch to her S2 skill, so things didn't go well like in your guide. One leak snuck away, but I still beat it
Fortunately you don't have to 3* to get the "secret", I just let her pass (taking the 2*) and got my first of the 4 secrets... the rest is going to be a lot trickier to get.
Just a FYI, you need a decent Trust on Thorns, or for him to be well above 55
Mastery will help as well with those at low levels and trust.
Just getting a 2 star rating took more than one try. I'll probably wait and try to get Thorns myself before attempting this again. @_@

Note: SA seems to be unable to outDPS Thorn (Mine is pot.4, E2-90, S3L7M3) resulting in leaks. Will try using Follinic S2 instead of Sussuro.
I second this. Considering I refreshed 10 times and only found a single friend support Thorns (who I then proceeded to waste because I couldn't keep up with Eckogen's deployments at the start due to using high rarity operators), a strategy that doesn't use Thorns would be much appreciated.
This. After getting frustrated with No Thorns in 20 Support Rerolls, I leaked Talulah on purpose to read the story. Did unlock EG-4 though, so the secret ending does not require a leakless clear.
It'll take some time as I need to do CM now and then the hell stages.

When I needed amiya guard a second her redeployment time was not enough. Why was that?
Can't return her later than what is shown otherwise she won't be up in time.

I was unable to redeploy Amiya before Talulah revived (the Thorns I was borrowing was E2 max M3 so I might have killed her a bit too fast) so I ended up using my M3 lv70 SilverAsh to deal some damage and tank some hits while I waited for Amiya. Turns out he was able to kill her before I even destroyed the first set of crystals.
