Passing the time by working on my project car, putting a 1000-piece puzzle together essentially by myself as my wife is working long hours in health care, and watching almost everything on Netflix and RUclips TV!
I'm passing the time by trying to better myself, I worked on my car a lot and thinking of personal goals
For the first bit, I was kind of a slug. Then something clicked and I realized what a great opportunity this is to start all those good habits I kept putting in the "Someday Maybe" box. I have a sourdough starter going, I'm meditating daily, and exercising in the front yard every other day.
Glad to see you posting more videos, I'm still working so not much has changed. That being said I've been watching more RUclips than normal and the drive thru has become my friend.
Passing my time by working Sound and Media at my Church for live streaming (we could use a Mic like this!), 3D printing commissions, working to get my Desktop CNC (Sphinx) up and running, doing full exterior details on my 350z and GS350, and watching videos like this!
I'm passing the time in isolation by learning how to make RUclips lab demos and lectures for my students - I pity them, but the have to watch my baby attempts to pass their classes - hoping that as I record and edit more that they won't be so painful. It's been an absolute eye opener for me as an instructor - 2hrs of lecture can be edited down to only 30min if I'm careful.
Praise to you for trying to make it as easy and smooth as possible for students in this weird time.
i`m in a deep forests of finland just listening awesome nature sounds, ice in the lakes are singing.
Love how Pete never scoffs at budget gear and will just give us a true review on whether it’s junk or not.
First off I would like to say that I love your videos. I've learned more from your videos on speakers and sound in general than all other "tutorials" from other RUclipsr's combined.
I've been spending my time in this at home doing my online college work, working on my car audio project and binge watching TV shows.
I lost a lot of gigs during this isolation time, so im passing the time by practicing drums even more, trying to focus on my mental and physical health. Thanks for the vid HexiBase!
My time in isolation passes way too fast, I work as a systems administrator in one of local MSP's (Major service provider), so this whole isolation and people working from home has skyrocketed my workload, someone has to make sure all those people can effectively work from home, apart from that I have two dogs and walk with them whenever they ask to go outside I guess they are keeping my sanity in check :) All this remote work has shown me how old and crappy my mic actually is so I'm really hoping I get to be the lucky one.. Oh and your content of course, I have recently found this channel and binged all videos in one go, i really like the technicalities you go in-to, keep on gifting us this awesome knowledge!!
I am still working at this time as automotive dealerships pats and service have been considered an essential service, although with not too many bookings we've cut back our hours. This has given me more time to work on my project vehicle; a 1967 VW Bus. I am at this time working on the interior door panels, which house a 9 channel audio system. I am also working on the Bamboo amp rack that is housing two Nakamichi amps (american Zed Audio collaboration ). This has been a 9 year build and I was planning on completing it this year until the shut downs began...one more year I guess.
I enjoy all of you content and appreciate both your wisdom and sense of humour. Keep it coming.
I've been working (cybersecurity) just like I did before, except now I do it from home, and (hopefully) finishing my university semester.
Passing the time building a fiberglass subwoofer enclosure for my Chevy Volt - it'll be hidden behind the plastic trim panels where the upgraded sound system subwoofer would go. Heavily inspired by your videos that small drivers can make big sound! Using Boxsim 2.0 for enclosure modeling, I'm estimating about 20L and want it to be relatively flat from 50Hz down to 22ish Hz. Keep up the great quality videos!
I'm spending my time giving my desk in my room an upgrade by watercooling my pc, a monitor stand, building new enclosures for my Logitech stereo speakers so they fit below the monitor and comparing headphones and microphones for streaming and gaming with my buddies from work and stuff
I'm staying with my parents to save money right now since I'm out of work. Been helping them with some home improvement and been working on music in the rest of my free time!
During this isolation, I'm actually using your channel to learn and practice new skills, as I'm really passionate for music and sound, but didn't really know a whole lot of the technical aspects. So thanks for sharing that knowledge, loving the channel
Been spending my time in isolation wrapping up my (hopefully) final year of college remotely and have been super eager to start a podcast of sorts! I’ve also been trying to get into music with the Illectryx side of my channel so I’m hoping to do that more when I’m out of school. If I happen to be the lucky winner of that gorgeous mic kit, I’ll put it to good use :) Good luck to everyone participating and thank you to HexiBase and your sponsors for putting this giveaway on!
I'm half working and half watching videos on YT. This is a great review, thx!
I'm watching netflix. Also communicating with friends via zoom and am trying to have better quality video and audio. This is the reason I watched this video.
I’m passing lockdown time tinkering with various audio build projects. So far I’ve built a couple of amplifiers housed in hand built enclosures made of tone wood and dowels (no nails), restoring an old turntable and working on a tonearm made of bamboo - if anyone thinks this is a bad idea, let me know as it’s a complete punt!
Love your work! I also have a couple of speaker designs kicking round the back of my head, and you’ll be a major influence on them. If I ever get that far...
Love the concepts, very progressively artistic and back-to-nature all at the same time .. Im suddenly inspired to replace the FETS in an old Sony amp I have and give it a new home in a salvage barnwood box - thank you .....
I turned my barn into a woodworking shop. So far I've made a desk, a keyboard base, a monitor stand, and a 2.1 speaker setup using Dayton 3" full range drivers and a 6.5" ported sub that hits down to 32hz. All of this with only recycled wood.
Passing the time at home working. I feel fortunate enough to have a job that I can do so.
I pass my time in isolation by learning about electronic frequency filters and detector electronic.
BTW, please continue your excellent quality videos.
I'm a nurse working in an oncology clinic, so my work day is high alert. Between screen patients and answering calls. My days are more jam packed than normal. At home I am joining friends for gaming sessions and much needed relaxation.
I've been killing time doing chores and projects around the house that I've put off for years. It's actually nice to catch up on things that you want to do. I'm sure a lot of us are doing the same! Lol FOR WORK: I keep in touch with my students on a daily basis and try to keep their attention when introducing new concepts, especially ones that even I find boring! Lol The mic sure would help! Thanks!!
I am spending my time trying to record online lectures for my class.
I always enjoy your work, but I am hoping that you will post more frequently videos!
To pass the time I mainly work on my projects or play games with my friends. University is a piece of cake when most lectures are complete chaos via zoom :)
I pass the time by teaching myself electronics. I can already program in a bunch of languages, and now I am designing a PCB for my space heater, air-conditioning unit and fan so they can have have built-in WiFi to allow me to be a lazy f*ck and just say "Alexa, I'm cold" and she'll turn on the heater when I'm laying in bed :D I've already converted the lamp in my bedroom to have some sick RGB and white light anywhere from 2700k to 7000k with stepless dimming. Being able to change the color temperature is much handier that I'd ever have imagined!
Also: Thank you for turning the music volume down after the intro 😁
i was unemployed before the pandemic so i gave myself up for helping wherever the workload is rising, so at the moment i work to provide hospitals with supplies.
I pass time by doing all the fun stuff I usually don’t have time for because I’m working. Cheers
Right now I'm at work supervising 6KV motor and circuit breakers in a paper recycling factory. In the meanwhile a make repairs to my house and can't wait to finally finish it and after that the listening room. I enjoy meeting with my friends on zoom on my crappy built-in laptop mic. I also play around with electronics and experimenting speaker enclosures.
Luckily, I'm confined to the cab of my work truck..pretty much isolated everyday but I'm working so thank God. Decided to install a stereo in my pickup and it kind of snowballed so Pete convinced me to try building a 5th order bass enclosure, thanks Pete...if only I knew what I was doing ) wish I had a pair of AD2208 D4 to install in it but a microphone would be cool...peace out.
Congratulations on the channel growth may the trend continue.
Cheers for your videos too
What a great video! I’m an essential employee, so, business as usual! Been at home more outside of work watching RUclips videos like yours and absorbing all the good knowledge that content creators like yourself have to offer. #likeafreeeducation thanks for everything! -Ian
Hey! Nice to see you making vids! Don't need the mike, GF has a somewhat similar setup, but she spent around 80eu for it - as I understand these or similar mikes use the same setup/chipset, put it in a different case and brand it differently, but for 50$ - its a steal!
Quarantine? Had a lovely 2 week vacation, came home after a long project, so just sat with GF, made food for our homemade restaurant, watched movies, played games and made plan on buying a TIG welder.
For me, passing the time during this whole situation has been chatting with friends on discord, even when not playing games, and trying to maintain a viable work schedule alone in a makeshift remote facility.
Mostly learning. CAD, Home Automation, French, Korean and Woodworking. Between these things i play a little and 3D Print Masks or Subwoofer ;-)
I think making stuff is an adequate thing to do. I build model aircraft for my part. I also really enjoy your videos, keep up the great work!
Spending my time remodeling house and researching next active system for my car! Liking the Stinger Heigh10 radio! Loving the videos and share them with my coworkers all the time!
I'm actually attempting to build a bluetooth Boombox of some sort and wanted to educate myself. Thats when i stumbled accross your channel. And it got me hooked from the beginning.
Awesome video and sharing ! thanks very much for your support in FIFINE Mic ! Hope y'll stay safe and healthy during this crazy time ! Blessed!
This self isolation makes me doing the stuff i've wanted that I can't do before. All my list of movies that never watched because of school, now i've watched all of it. The next thing is playing with family in the house.
I'm passing the extra time I have driving around and listening to my new 6th order box! I had someone build me the box after I watched your video explaining acoustic orders. I wanted a box that played 30-60hz relatively flat, and he did a great job. Super happy with it, so thanks for the info that got me started!
Thankfully I’m still working. Also teaching my kids their school curriculum which I hope to never have to do again once this is over.
I've been passing the time by essentially sneaking out into the bush by myself to go fishing, no human contact whatsoever, and it's walking distance from my house. Other than those couple hours, it's been playing video games and fiddling with old audio equipment to see if I could coax some extra life out of some components, was able to resurrect one car audio amp, hopeful to be able to save the few other old ones I had put away for various reasons. Oh and LOTS of cleaning and reorganizing, it's been a while since we've all been home, so we're all taking the time to fix up around the house, I've even restarted my garden, but it is dry season here so it is some work to prepare the area, but I'm getting there.
Very informative and to the point video, it's always appreciated. I've been spending this quarantine catching up on a backlog of shows and gaming with some buddies of mine, but their always getting on me about my mic picking up everything in my room. Odds are I'll end up just buying one of these after saving up a bit anyway, but it'd be pretty cool to win one.
I’m passing time finishing my electrical engineering degree! Great video as always! It’s very enlightening to see all you can do from home, granted with a lot of equipment and knowledge, but looks like a challenging hobby I hope to get into one day!
I'm watching my friend's art being perfected on the Hexibase RUclips channel. Great vid!
I learned a lot on your channel, thanks for this great content.
I bought a 3D printer just before covid19 and one of the first things i printed were a couple of speakers.
I recently got a 3d printer, a Longer lk4 actually and its been serving me great so far! So I've spend my entire quarantine just getting to know the world of 3d printing. Thanks for making such great vids and stay safe during all of this
I've been using this otherwise troubling event as a opportunity for self reflection and improvement. On occasion, a reset is the solution. Thanks for the giveaway chance.
Stumbled on this a little late, but wow man I'm impressed at the value offered! A buddy ordered one up as well a couple weeks ago and between his experiences and what I'm hearing, sounds like my wallet is about to get a little lighter. Appreciate the reality check you provide on the accessories as well...it's too easy to get all caught up in branding and prices on things that often get confused with quality. Great stuff, I always enjoy seeing new videos being posted.
Cheers!
I’m passing the time by eating, sleeping and ofc doing my school work. Lol
I’ve turned several people on to your channel. I like what you do. So do the people that I’ve showed. Keep up the good work.
1) Car shopping 2) I got a list of things to do a mile long, I may do them in the next 20 days or so. 3) Always wanted to do car related videos and missed the chance with my Focus ST, so now it's with my new (not new to me) car and others that will join it very soon.
I am building an entertainment center out of maple for the big screen wall mount TV . It comes in six sections, of which the outside lower two are supposed to be shelves, but instead of which I am building in my own designed speakers. The idea is to get everything off the floor, including stereo, Dish box, DVD, and speakers.
I'm passing the time by having already made 38 test voice samples with the very same kit you reviewed here, The FiFine T669 that I won a few weeks ago! This, in anticipation of FiFine's brand-spanking-new K678 that I ordered a couple days ago, of which I will make personal comparisons!
Currently cleaning up my garage, fixing motorcycles, cars and mopeds.
I feel guilty when I've got nothing to do and I don't have much to do right now so it is quite painful. Also just finished school which leaves me with more time to think about how i'm going to use my time. Quite a paradoxical positive feedback loop that one.
Also been following along your videos trying to understand TS parameters, so that's been a noggin-scratcher. I like your videos, they really force me to think.
Thank you.
Watching HexiBase videos!
I’m passing my time by learning for my upcoming exams for when school starts again. Besides of that me and a friend are time coding a small light-show just for fun.
I am working. In the food business and I’m still working to supply everyone with food for grocery stores.
Being of high risk in this outbreak, I have to stay home and just ponder life as it goes by. Looking at youtube, watching things I enjoy and hopefully learning some great information out there.
Regrets of not pursuing things when I was younger and trying to reconnect with past passions such as Audio and Car Hi-Fi.
I would love to do a youtube channel but unsure of what is interesting for others, but I guess if I learnt it properly, it would help.
I'm passing my time upgrading my gaming setup i got a new desk monitor headphone and was looking into microphones this really helped btw
Passing time by figuring out how to make a budget home studio. Always wanted to tinker with music, now I have some time. Really dig your content, btw. The 3-D printer stuff is awesome. A lot of the technical stuff is way over my head, but I enjoy it anyway.
I'm trying to build my first speaker using Dayton audio equipment (4" mid woofer, 1" protected tweeter, 2 way crossover and mono amplifier board with battery accessories) I'm just playing around to try and see if i make a relatively small portable speaker that works XD. i have noticed that my tweeter is way louder than my woofer though so i may need to try researching a little more. Thanks for showing off the fifine mic And stay safe guys!!! :-)
you can add a resistor to the tweeter side of the crossover to lower its volume across the entire frequency range
@@fortunefed8719 You my man are why I love this community so much. thank you, thank you, for the advice!!! Have a good one mate!! :-D
I spent time finishing a restoration on an old jointer I bought last year.
During this time, I'm working on a side project. I'm a graphic designer, but I also love to code, so I'm learning a new language. Plus RUclips is the way to go!
Glad to see the suits are hookin give away swag. Good luck to all the participants.
Going to the garage and restoring a 1989 yamaha tzr 80, and doimg all the work university gives
He Hexi, nice review. Parts Express did a review recently of a microphone that came in a kit for about the same price. It's nice to see some affordable options for people who need decent quality mics. For me, I'm doing a lot of 3D printing to pass the time. First I printed a bunch of masks and face shields. Sent those out last week. I'm also printing the parts for an MPCNC. Getting the hang of 3D printing so I thought I'd try my hand at CNC.
Awesome.. I was looking for a microphone for my desktop pc that doesn't allow me to use a phone headphone because it has two jacks (headphone and mic) and I found your video.. Now I'm working remotely I have a lot of video conferences so I needed a good mic and I didn't think about usb microphones until now.
I am finishing up my last semester in college, trying to not get too distracted by RUclips and Netflix (whoops) 🤭
I have been learning more about electronics and developing PCBs
just waiting for this to go over, so i can go visit my family :)
i am doing what i am always doing, sitting in my home studio, making music. not that much of a change for me during this distancing thing.
There is no much change from me, I'm working from home a while ago, we just try to go outside less times just to buy what we need. Here in Costa Rica there is only vehicle restriction so you can go out when ever you want and buy your stuff, but the most of the families are making volunteer quarantine.
I've been designing and prototyping my first pro audio speaker line that I'm selling privately, I plan on shooting a video detailing it similar to you.
XD when you showed off the playback lag
I am still working because we are essential services as we make and provide equipements for hospitals. But in my spare time, I am finishing my new speakers project which will be use mainly for my various music shows. A white painted sealed box with aperiodic loading, using SEAS A26RE4 and SEAS T35C002 drivers and DAYTON PPA800DSP plate amplifiers.
Thank you very much for your videos as they are very well done and full of usefull insights.
ROFL (4:53) along with an excellent sound effect. How could you have kept your composure sneaking this clip in...haha
I'm passing the time in isolation by learning ins outs of sound/production industry, and sometimes Gaming, zoom chatting.
Great video/reviev
Using my time to learn DesignSpark 4 (3D design software), so that I can make disent 3D models :-)
Thanks for sharing :-)
Hey, I'd already brought one of these by the time that I found your video (so i don't really need to win one). I can say that it works really well, I provide online training for work, and the mic along with with arm does a wonderful job of clearing my voice while also removing all of the keyboard & mouse noises. They also come in a darker-pink colour (if you feel like something just a little different).
Spending the time housebound with my three boys learning about what it takes to create a RUclips channel on a kids allowance budget.
Between guitarmaking and studying it doesnt even feels like im in quarantine!
4:51 you sneaky devil
I've been passing the time working from home and then doing many projects around the house.
I'm actually giving my first proper swing at music production, something I've been looking into for years now but only really played around with until now! (sure would be mighty convenient to have something better than a phone mic for audio takes! :P)
Virus lockdown time usage hmm ?? Well, aside from a ton of RUclips I used a cad app to design, and have now built a 34 Hz vented subwoofer enclosure for a set of 10 inch dvc's, considering putting together a 6th order paralleled box but having a difficult time finding any info on how to tune the two-to-one vents .. Incorporating a folded horn sounds fun, and loud ..
Thanks for all the wisdom you share HexiBase, much love ...
I've been using my time to learn photography and understand video editing!
I'm passing the time by re-evaluating my car audio setup, and doing immense amounts of research on gear for my personal audio space.
Pete my friend and brotha from anotha motha in Missouri excellent good topic of choice for discussion you are awesome. I'm watch plenty of my favorite shows on Motor Trend and Makeing RUclips videos on my RUclips channel.
I have been learning 3D cad with fusion 360 and blender.
Im passing the time with home office, my audio hobby and going for a lot of walks.
What I'm also passing, is the chance of winning this microphone as I already have a microphone that sounds as good as this and has latency free monitoring. Someone else probably needs this more so sign me out.
Anyways, great video as always. And I think it's because your audio is always perfect. I feel like audio is getting overlooked a lot on RUclips and (at least in my opinion) a subpar looking video still is enjoyable if it sounds good. Not that your videos look bad, it's really the opposite.
Lots of car sim-racing. I've been looking for a microphone and arm to reach over my steering wheel while wearing a VR Headset & headphones so this video is timely. It looks like you can get this kit straight from FIFINE on AliExpress too, in case the Amazon sellers won't post to your country currently (They wont post to NZ seemingly).
I work in a church, so I spend the most of my time working on streaming the services e making small podcasts, for which I'm looking for gear right now, and even if I don't win the giveaway, the video was awesome for me because I was looking for an affordable microphone to use in the podcasts.
I’m passing the time setting up my apartment making vintage enclosure Bluetooth speakers and singing karaoke on Smule👍🎤🎙🎶🤗
playing animal crossing with friends. working on projects. and starting my business while work has laid me off. until they feel comfortable to start up again.
Business as usual since I work from home. Time spent with friends has mostly been replaced with chatting/video chat.
