    I've had mine for 2 months now and you got it right! Basically within a day or two the thickness disappeared because like you said, we see our watches from the front and from the front the thickness is a non-issue. It's such a good looking watch and most importantly it's just about the most comfortable watch I've ever owned!

      I'm new to watches...well at least having strong desire to own high end watches.
      One look at the Rolex catalog and I'm smitten. I've falling in love with the Yacht Master in rose gold. One look at the price, and I'm high tailing out of there. Even with the funds sitting in the bank, I am not paying that kind of money for a watch. I don't care what anyone says. I have better uses for money like that, and it's not going to sit on my wrist. Plus, I have heard the stories on how exclusive they allegedly are, and the treatment you get at the stores. No thanks, my life is good as is.
      So, Tudor is looking more desirable each day. Given the quality and service to back it up, the prices look very enticing and somewhat reasonable.

    Well, I lie… the square GShock takes P1 when a hammer is present, but once I smash my thumb and my wife gives me that look… the Black Bay Pro goes back on and the world it’s right once more.
    Let me summarize. My favorite watch was the 16570 (1994, stolen in 98) and it wasn’t until 2022 that I bought myself a proper GMT. And this one feels and looks better than the last.
    Now all I have left to do is sell my collection and use the funds to travel to far off lands so that I may once again use the GMT function as intended.

    I was never a fan of the snowflake hand but now see it as a Trader trait, I bought my very first Tudor a few months ago and just love it, I bought the BlackBay 41mm, I see Tudor as the new tool watch which I once saw Omega do the job well (too fancy now) The thickness fades away once on the wrist but to be honest I enjoy thicker watches. The in house movement doesn't get praised enough by reviewers I cannot state how accurate the movement is esp at the price point, it winds butter smooth and the rotor super quiet and everything just as a solid Click from the bracelet clasp to the dive bezel.

  • @grahamsalmons2027
    @grahamsalmons2027 2 года назад +32

    I’ve got the GMT. Don’t think twice about the thickness. I WAS worried about the durability of the Aluminium bezel for everyday wear - but I bought it before the pro was available. Shouldn’t have been concerned, hasn’t picked up so much as a mark (yet). For me a 41 works better (I like a bigger watch) so I’d still choose the GMT. I happen to like (and use) the Pepsi bezel a lot (I travel all the time, like every week). I haven’t adjusted the time since I bought it. There’s no requirement: it hardly loses or gains a second. Quite astonishing.
    But there’s no doubt that the Pro is a total steal.
    And the best bit of all? You don’t have to interact with the utterly grotesque Rolex dealers.

      Yup I’ve got one too and I love it, was a bit concerned about the thickness too when I bought it but I literally don’t notice and never have. The bevels on the bottom of the sides make it look thinner than it is anyway compared to the regular black bay. Mines 2.5years old now, I wear it every day and it very rarely leaves my wrist and there isn’t a mark on the bezel. Since I last adjusted it at the end of April (to skip the date forward) it had lost 10s which is pretty incredible.

      You mean you turn the bezel? I travel a bunch within the use and just use the snap hour adjustment at the 2nd crown position. I’ve had a tough time seeing the value in the rotating bezel for most uses, hence my honest question.

    I tried on the bb 41mm GMT and said hard no immediately for my size wrist. Felt top heavy and chunky. Bought the pro in May. Still haven't taken it off. I'd love the midcase to be a couple mm smaller but it is minor and most importantly, it is probably the most comfortable tool watch I've ever worn. Worth every dollar. The 2mm of glass and bevelled down fixed bezel make so much of a difference.

I have 16.5 cm wrists and I like how it felt, the weight and the case proportions. Didn't feel like it was thick at all, in fact you completely forget about it! It’s a wonderful highly accurate true GMT sports watch and extremely comfortable on the adjustable bracelet. It has barely lost a second since purchased and is anti-magnetic, 200m water resistant, awesome lume, brushed bezel goes under the radar, 39mm perfect dial size. The crown is excellent just perfect. Honestly, I’ll probably be looking to get the polar white dial version which I hope Tudor releases in 2023. The domed glass helps it slide under a collar, the thickness is something you don’t really feel when wearing day to day. The barber / hairdresser analogy is spot on as 99% of time you observe the dial. 5 year warranty, AD told me no need to service for 10 years.

Just recently got an Oris Aquis 400 in blue and was considering a Tudor BB or Seamaster. I’ve been wearing mine for six weeks. The thickness gave me pause when I bought it, but I don’t even notice that anymore. The combination of being a 39, having a slightly sloped bezel, and part of the thickness coming from the dome crystal all make it wear smaller than when you hold it in your hands. Also the lug to lug length combined with the fact the bracelet has full range of motion means it really conforms to the wrist. After a week or two, I found it wears beautifully.

      As Andrew pointed out most wearers do their viewing from the front! At 39mm and if it's fitted correctly you shouldn't really notice the thickness. If it's still on your radar, try one on at your Tudor A.D. It's either for you.............or not. There are plenty of other outstanding offerings out there.

    Everyone is talking about the thickness and I think it's more because it took people by surprise that a brand like Tudor couldn't make it thinner rather than that thikness being a problem. Maybe that's why Tudor didn't release a BB58 GMT. A rotating bezel might have added even more to the thickness of the watch.

    • @Want300
      @Want300 2 года назад

      They developed the MT5402 for the BB58 (I assume)... I would have thought they would have built a new GMT movement from the 58 movement, which may have let them keep it thinner. Say, the MT5452. Maybe that is in the pipeline. And we will get a BB58 GMT in the future that is actually called the BB58 GMT. The "Pro" line is going in a different direction and isn't shy about its "beefyness". They also made sure to separate it from the 58 line completely.

    • @denisalg1171
      @denisalg1171 2 года назад

      @@Want300 I hope you're right. People wanted a BB58 GMT because the BB58 has such great proportions all around. Maybe Tudor compromised a bit on the BB Pro to please the people in the short term and we'll get a BB58 GMT in a few years time. Let's just hope they don't do a Rolex and take a decade to give people what they want.

    This review was the the drop of water that tipped the pail and made me purchase the pro. One thing I want to be clear on though will all this commentary on its girth is that you need to try it on. I actually love that it puffs its chest out a bit, on a 41mm or 43mm case I agree it would be too much, but on a 39mm it's honestly perfect. After deliberating and cogitating on a daily driver watch the minute I saw this on wrist I reached for my wallet.

    The size of pro is about the same size as my GS SBGE253 (40 mm dia. and 14.6 mm thick) which I initially thought too thick but got used to it although it is good 2 mm thicker than 16570. SBGE253 does feel top heavy though, as it has heavy ceramic bezel and clasp being relatively lightweight. Given the pro's bezel being stainless steel and set lower than the crystal as well as clasp being beefier, it may be better balanced than SBGE253 and may also sits more comfortably on the wrist.

    The thickness is a concern, but it quickly disappears. If it wasn't so thick, that bigger crown would be a bit of a deal-breaker, as it would tend to dig into the wrists of those wearing it on their left hand.

    I own it. The thicknest is really not an issue in my opinion, at least on the bracelet. On a strap however, it might be for some eyes, because you easily catch the thickness of the watch between the lugs... Meh, not an issue for me either. But the weight ! The BB PRO is easily the heaviest watch in my collection and I was quite surprise by that. I had to get used to it honestly but now I love it. The look is stunning, the functionality too, playing with the crown is very satisfying... I love how, at midnight, all the snowflakes on the hands line up perfectly.

    When this first got announced, I really liked it, then I saw the price and I liked it even more! It really is a bargain for what it is!
    I've loved the BB58 for a long time now and this has more than likely took its place on my wishlist, I haven't been to an AD to try this on yet but I have tried a few models of the 58 and it's really nice, they fit great, my daily is my SKX007 and that is a CHUNKY watch so the size of the Pro wouldn't phase me at all.
    The part about the barber showing you the back of your head cracked me up :'D couldn't be more accurate!
    Edit: I tried it out a few weeks back, it felt great and looked amazing! It was really hard to walk out of Goldsmiths without it on my wrist 😅 I promised myself my next watch was going to be a Speedy so I'm sticking to that, then I'll be picking up the Black Bay Pro for my first GMT watch 😎
