Thank you so much for your honest review! i went out on a limb and booked this hotel for a solo bday trip. After watching your video, I'm now so excited and looking forward to my trip! From your review, I was able to pinpoint what's most important to ME! I love great service, I tend to stick to one or two restaurants anyway, and Im a social yet shy person. Soooooo, the close proximity between the beach loungers works for meee! Not to mention...I don't like pools! AND THE BAAATTHTUUUUUBBBB!!!!!

@@briandittersdorf4802 you will have acces to a bar pool with premium beverages only for DC members,they book the restaurants for you(if u are not with DC sometimes it’s hard to book a restaurant) you can eat the breakfast in front of the beach,the beach as well has a designated area only for DC,u don’t have t pay for surf pool,but if you don’t want to pay for DC it’s a good resort anyway and beautiful.

I've seen some ✌🏻lazy✌🏻rivers that move really fast and are hard to get out of.. This one looked peaceful. Resort looks pretty nice for an all-inclusive, especially the sweet _basic_ room! I was waiting for the tongs at the Brazilian BBQ.😂 The drinks looked on point. Another great video James!

This is a great video of this property. My family vacationed here back in August 2018 shortly after it opened and it was awesome! We have been wanting to go back , and will in 2024, but also considering Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana and Finest Punta Cana. We will have a family ages ranging 4-60s. The activities, amenities, entertainment, food is gonna be hard to beat. I've seen your video of Margaritaville Cap Cana which is why we are considering it as well. Very well done, I love your videos!!!
Just got back from a two week vacation at this hotel and it was amazing, staff are lovely, food is amazing, so many restaurants to choose from, facilities are fantastic can’t fault the hotel

@@amyrichards7349 nice and easy, we stayed for two weeks and I think the only restaurants we booked in at was the steak house and the Italian, Rio and ocean side was about half hour waits, which we didn’t mind as we just sat at the bar outside

Looking for a good resort with a nice beach that we could actually get in the water at which resort would you recommend?
What I like most about food is not making it and having someone bring it to me. Im no foodie..just happy to have something. Im all about the beach , the pool and a comfortable bed.
I travel with my family which includes my 6 year old son and we went to this hotel last year and we had an amazing time. Definitely agree this is more geared towards families but those families that like more of a chill time. The service was incredible at all times. And when i went the food was incredible everywhere except Hunter. Oceanside was my husband's favorite. Spent a week here with the family and it was so many of us we had 4 swim out rooms in a row so we basically had a whole strip of pool to ourselves and it was great.

I’ll give republica a 3.5/5 stars other resorts are better. The vibe at republica resort wasnt really there lots of Russians that were to themselves, had a problem with the door as we tried to get in our room after checking in (multiple keys they gave us didn’t work) then they said door needed to be fixed and service wasnt good as they kept shortening us on towels/rags the beach was ok but waves were too strong to chill in it.

Я много путешествую, есть с чем сравнить отели типа «Все включено», люблю комфорт, но к мелочам обычно не придираюсь.
Территория ухоженная, чистая, цветов мало, но есть красиво оформленная искусственная речка с фонтанами. Пляж охраняется с раннего утра, можно спокойно оставлять вещи, но занимать места надо до 9AM, иначе мест под зонтом не найти. Днем возле бассейна, а вечерами - на территории возле ресепшн, проводятся характерные для resort развлекательные программы. Изобилие еды на любой вкус и предпочтения, много экзотических фруктов, причем независимо от того, в какое время ты заходишь в ресторан. На территории отеля много баров с коктейлями, но я не любитель, предпочитаю хорошие вина. Здесь есть белые и красные, на любителя. Персонал приветлив частично, желательно, чтобы они улыбались гостям. Есть одно «Но». Люблю радовать чаевыми по принципу - чем лучше, тем больше. Не знаю, как в других отелях, здесь же чаевые надо давать вначале, чтобы тебя хорошо обслужили. В ресторанах почему-то нет ложек, приходится просить у официантов. Если заранее даешь доллар, приносят сразу, иначе - надо ждать, иногда напоминать по несколько раз. Это напрягает. Конечно, есть ребята, которые обслуживают отлично, приветливы всегда, но в целом желательно провести тренинг для персонала.
Что касается ресторанов. Только в азиатский ZEN можно попасть по предварительной записи. В остальных ресторанах, где хорошо обслуживают и вкусно кормят (была 2 раза в Steak House) можно поужинать, подойдя заранее (кстати, время ожидания тоже зависит от предварительных чаевых).
Я бы хотела обязательно довести до сведения администрации: те, кто хорошо знаком с японской кухней, сразу заметят, что мисо-суп в ZEN - это вовсе не мисо-суп, а пародия на него. Суши ужасные, не знаю, кто и как их готовит, но это были не суши, не рекомендую никому. И почему создан искусственный ажиотаж именно на этот ресторан, непонятно. Думаю, со мной согласится любой знаток японской кухни.
И еще: в нашем номере (13210) пахло сыростью.
В целом все отлично - океан, солнце, праздник для тела и души!

Come on.... A 2.5 rating? James, your reviews are always awesome and pretty accurate on the resorts I've been to in PC but I think you're wayyyyy off on this one. At minimum this is a 4 - 4.5. I think you're doing a disservice to the resort and to guests that will now think twice before booking. The food, all the food, is amazing. You didnt mention the awesome lunchtime outdoor grill near the lazy river or the food truck near the beach. Both delicious. The coffee shop is very good as well.
Love the videos! You need to work on a canned ending to your videos…. Keep them coming looking forward to the next Vegas series.

We just got back from here. I felt the same way you did. We have only been 2 times. Last was laramana in bayahide side and this one. Which other hotel would you stay at next year? We have 2 20 year olds and a 12 year old kid.
The video is well done but am I missing something? You did rate it a 2.5/6, correct? So a failing mark at 42%? Didn't see that coming after so many positive comments throughout the video. I assume this takes into account for the fact that you, personally, prefer resorts that are not geared towards families? That's my guess. What would be very helpful is if you gave it an OVERALL rating and a second rating comparing it to other (equivalent) family resorts, to put it more into perspective.

We were there in May 2019 for a family wedding and pretty much everyone got sick. It was horrible as was the food. I've been all over the world and would not go back to this place.

Hyatt Ziva/ Zilara is really good .. on season /off season doesnt matter . Food amazing 10/10, extertainment (make sure you are there on a sunday )
The Royalton Blue Water is great as well . Food 8/10 . Entertainment is good . Mark you we went in nov 2020 during Covid , they still treated us well !
Excellence Oyster Bay , luxury at its best , food top notch , beach activities . However if you are like me want alot of entertainment ... this aint the hotel . If you just looking to relax , this is it .

Dunno if you missed it or not, but they have a grill during lunch, close to the lazy river. It had the best food in the whole resort imo... and I dunno how you were able to get a beach like that because when I went, the whole shoreline, from one end to the other, had loads of dead seaweed that you would have to walk through to get to the water

Hi James! My fiancé and I have been watching all your videos on Punta Cana, which has been soooo helpful! We are torn between a few options for our honeymoon next June! We are looking at Royalton Bavaro, Barcelona Bavaro, and Excellence Punta Cana. Any thoughts on which option may be better for an adventurous couple who doesn’t prefer super quiet resorts, takes advantage of the beach, pool, and activities at the resorts? Thanks!!
I went to barcelo bavaro and Royalton and if you want disco for night i suggest barcelo with the premium room,but overall Royalton with dc was the best for me.
For families, those suites offer zero privacy for getting dressed. I don't understand why family resorts have such an open floor plan. Not even a curtain to draw. I think I might bring my own and hooks and make something with that cut-out half wall...
Great video. I’ve been to a lot of Caribbean islands. Aruba is my favorite. I’m going to try not to compare them. My biggest concern with this resort is my fear that it will be underwhelming. Why is it so inexpensive comparatively speaking? How is the casino at this property? Should I just get a cab to hard rock?

Royalton bavaro or royalton punta cana?
Because of your recommendation we chose this resort. What a mistake!!! The resort was nothing like your video, we were at the diamond club level and when we checked in the reception area was nothing like in the video, it extremely hot with no fans and crawling with kids. The food in the reception area wasn’t even close to what you showed. We were told that our room wasn’t ready, so our “butler “ walked us around and it was difficult to hear him with the music blasting.
The were kids everywhere and in strollers. He took us to the Ocean side buffet and it was over crowded hot and extremely noisy. The food was horrendous as there was no AC and food was literally melting (health hazard) the floor was stained and disgusting . We told them that we were leaving for another resort and they said that they would everything possible to change our minds. The internet and phone service was atrocious. I couldn’t text message a my wife from a few feet away from the reception area.
The first room we were taken to the lights and AC didn’t work, the second room, the swim up pool had concrete in it and on the lounges which had slits in them, the proverbial straw was that since the room faced a main walkway people were swimming in the pool that meant for the room guest.
The hotel was at capacity so we could envision what it would have been like to get reservations, try to get seating at the pool or beaches. Needless to say after lengthy discussions with management we were refunded and left the property. As I stated before your video was nothing like what this resort actually is. Which means they compensated you in some form for a positive review.
You should state that in the video. Anyone considering going here based on this recommendation should avoid this place like the plague!!!

This place was a nightmare for me. I stayed there a week ago. Totally not recommended unless you like long lines at check in, restaurants and just about everything else. I booked two nights just to see how it was, and I was in for a surprise. I am a Bonvoy Platinum elite and that means nothing at this resort. I arrived after a long day's drive to wait in line for an hour at check in. The floor in my room was dirty and the toilet stall hadn't been swept. There was a cringy yellow stain on the corner of the exposed part of the bed sheet. My room had a strong ammonia smell which is the by products of mold probably in the AC System. Loads of loud kids running everywhere, it was like Chucky Cheese on the water. If you are not a "diamond" member you basically spend your day just trying to get a seat to eat. LONG lines just to book a restaurant reservation. The restaurant basically ran out of food or the host just gave me an attitude. (Brazilian Beef Place). By 9:30pm I checked out and into the AC Marriott down the road. I ended up losing $741, but wasn't going to spend two miserable days in this place. Once I got to the AC Marriott, I was able to eat and the next day I found a beautiful beach just down the road. There are alternatives to these resorts, and I think it's a better way to go.
That tub is a hazard for me.
Were here now and after 2 days the food is under achieving. Sports bar and the buffet breakfast and dinner, since we got here a little late, we’re terrible. Live Aqua was by far better. Service here unacceptable by any standards.
Update. After 4 nights there we will not be back to this resort. Ate all restaurants except steak house. Not anything to brag about. Had to call twice to get towel to the room for showers. Service never got better. We have a membership at Moon palace Cancun. There and Live Aqua were hands down better than this location. Will not recommend. Hope everyone else’s trip is better than ours.

I hear Diamond club not worth it hear .. I’m not into the butler thing and pool don’t bother me . I also hear you can get the so called special drinks and food at same restaurants. For me to add it would be peobley $1,700 a room I have 3 rooms no thanks
