Canada here. Everywhere seems to be fighting weather. Congrats on the plastic finally in place. Lots different than the old cedar, glass and putty greenhouses on foundations, of my youth. When the plastic greenhouses came in it was an amazing innovation, but deadly until they figured out they needed venting. And congrats on nearing 200000. You have the perfect formula of beautiful family that lives each other, hard work, great animal selection all together on this homestead.
Helping others is good for the soul. I learned by my late fathers example. Short story from 50 years ago. He saw a complete stranger in our neighborhood that had cement delivered for a walkway. Way too much for one man to complete before it would set. He dropped whatever errand he was on and came home, grabbed some trowels and me and my brother. With four of us working we managed to save the project.
We were watching another channel of a husband trying to build a structure for months now, and my daughter said "Al @ Lumnah would've had that built by now". 😂 You do rock.
I am so HAPPY the plastic is on!!! I close on my 20 acres in one week!! Your family has inspired me so much. City girl with no clue..lol But can not wait to make mistakes.
Good friends cannot be still when neighbors are in need. You have good friends. I am surprised you all did not have rain all day. Tunnel looks wonderful. So much food can be grown in there even in bad weather or in winter. Good luck Lumnahs and God bless. Having a good time watching you grow your homestead.
Isnt it nice to have friends to help you out! We do this with a friend that takes in hay every year. Also get together every fall for apple harvest and making cider. Like the Amish barn raisings. Hope you enjoy your greenhouse - boy you worked hard to get that up. Best wishes from Perth Ontario.
How satisfying it was to see the plastic go on. I can only imagine how great it feels for you guys. I'm so impressed at how far your homestead has grown. I know you are already thinking about the next build. I wonder what it will be.
Yahooooooo the plastics are up on the greenhouse. And you have some ground dug up too. Great to see progress everyday on your homestead. Way to go Lumnah folks.!
Such a great environment to raise children! Teach them about responsibilities, hard work, and independence. So incredible. I really want to sell my suburban home and get a farm.
You know the whole world would be a much better place if everyone helped each other. That was great to see people coming together to help a friend. Al don't forget to leave the door or vents open while tilling. Don't want to breathe to many fumes.
What a fantastic day for you at the homestead Al, I think in years to come you will both look back on today as a milestone, the day the greenhouse was covered. Credit to you all. God bless you.🙏🙏🙏🙏🇬🇧
A cup of coffee and Lumnah Acres...what could be better than that! Nice looking greenhouse Al. Have a great day. The rain you had today dumped nearly 4 inches here. We have had 2 dam failures over on the east side if the state. Gotta love Michigan weather.
Green house is beautiful. Can't wait to see if your way or Gina's is the most productive growing your veggie's in the greenhouse. Moose and the ladies have decided to be free range chickens..too funny. Good to see Hope and the girls and then seeing Mama and her babies. Seeing Pluto and Tanner playing made my heart sing...have missed watching those two play. Olivia is the goat whisperer. She is so good with all the goats. Missed Gina today. Have a good rest of the day.
Greetings from PA. Looking good. So glad you had help. God bless. We love your family and seeing everything going on at the farm. The babies are adorable.
You my friend, need a tin of Dermatone. I used it for years working as a ski patroller, ski lift mechanic, etc. It helps prevent frostbite and windburn and works on your face and lips. Works in the summer too when the wind is up or you're on the water. Comes in a small round tin that keeps in your pocket nicely.
How cool the green house plastic is up! another step ahead to planting inside Al, Gina, and Olivia. Thank you guys for helping the Lumnah family your Awesome.
I’m so glad that tornado warning didn’t amount to anything the other day. I’m a few hours south of you guys and we only got a few high wind bursts luckily. It did start old glory shredding though, so I’ve ordered a new flag, and since that’s all that happened here I’m a happy guy. I’d would have hated to hear that greenhouse ended up in OZ! Not so sure they’d have wifi there.🤪 Anyway, I’m glad you got it all done without any major injuries too, it’s shaping up. Aren’t friends just the best?! ❤️✌🏼
Congrats on getting it done before that wind really picked up, that is the major reason why I recommended that you get as many ppl as possible to help and start a early as possible, once that wind picked up if u didn't have it secured in a safe fashion bad things would have happened, at least your local friends were wiling to come and help you get it done without damaging the plastic. I know you probably said thanks to all your friends but anyway I will say it too here, thanks for helping him get it done quickly. (Now your gonna owe them some of those fresh vegetables you grow in that greenhouse). 🙂😉
Oh my. I am so excited!!!! Can't wait till planting time. Such hard work will pay off. There for a minute I thought the wind was going to get under the plastic. WHEW!!!!
I am so proud of y’all! The guys that helped, thank you! It looked phenomenal! I can’t wait till y’all are working in the greenhouse and it’s raining and y’all just giggle! It’s awesome!
Your greenhouse will be worth all the work it has taken to create it. Looking forward to the videos of you growing veges for your family. You've come a long way since you started building your homestead. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Thanks to all your helpers! They represented many of us subscribers! Beautiful grren (white) house! Al, you have such a wonderful outlook on family, farm, animals; it’s a pleasure to be a watcher of your life. Glad to finally see Pluto.
Al and team, Nice job with the plastic. When we did my friend Franco's polytunnell it was a bit blowy. The cover was like a big bag sewn 2mx4.5m. I'm 6' but Franco is only short. Couldn't quite reach. One puff of wind and the whole thing was off the frame like a kite! We just had to let it go across the allotments and go again. Glad you had none of that nonsense 😁😁😀🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 coming soon. Regards Stephen.
A huge accomplishment today and it was well executed and a joy to watch. . Friends gathering to help each other is priceless. I am sure tonight you and Gina will rest peacefully knowing the worst part is over and the best part is to come.
Putting this plastic on is quite a chore.......all the details of having 2 layers of plastic, howbeit, different kinds of plastic, or for different purposes. Good friends to help! It will certainly be a wonderful thing when you're done! A Great Greenhouse!
Roots and Refuge posted their video of putting the plastic on their green house same day as you. From what both posted, yours went much better. Congrats on having it on.
You have a great group of friends, I like how respectful you are of their time, I think it was so smooth because your were so meticulous and prepared. Looking forward to find out if Al's or Gina's garden is most successful.
Finally, you have made it. I was heaving on the ropes with you guys. A job well done. It certainly makes a huge difference when you walk into the greenhouse with all of the plastic on. Now I am looking forward to seeing what goes on inside in comfort. I think a few good names for the babies are, Buster, Topper, Beano, Dandy and because they hop around more than walk, Skippy.
Looks Great Al and family, can't wait to see, the return from the produce. love the channel, which is also an inspiration to me and my family, a great source of information for beginners, keep it up and bless you.
That was a smooth operation! Congrats on getting the plastic on! Whoever created that wiggle wire was a genius! We have had 6.5" of rain since Monday night and could expect up to 2 more inches before it stops sometime on Friday. Our pond is on the verge of overflowing! We get more rain here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina than they get in the Pacific Northwest. Living in North Carolina's High Country does have its challenges but it sure is God's glory here. Blessings to all.
I'm so very excited that the greenhouse is covered. I'm sure y'all are too. It will be very interesting to see what methods y'all choose to use inside. God Bless
That was exhilarating! I was _so happy for you_ when the first plastic layer covered the frame. _I actually teared up_ when the second layer was pulled across. This is the coolest thing. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Good morning from the UK. Great to see the greenhouse build nearly finished. It must be such a relief to get the last big install done, hopefully the smaller tidy up and lock everything down parts won't take too long. Hope the weather allows you to start moving animals out onto pasture soon, they'll be so much better for that access to fresh grass. And that ability to carry on creating food for the year, regardless of the weather must be such a wonderful feeling. Can't wait to see how the planting goes.
Congrats on getting the roof on! If you’re like me, that’s ALL I would have been thinking about. Take a deep breath and enjoy your handy work!! Well done. L
It looked like installing the plastic covering was the easiest part of the build. You thought ahead and got tarps to keep the plastic clean. That was great. I liked the way you attached the rope to the plastic.
Whew that is a big project that's almost done. Friends are great gifts from God! Well done and good for you to use a tiller that will save both of you from hours of pain. See you on the next one..
SIGH! Hooray! Great job. I usually tie my rope to a heavy 2x4. Or a heavy object that won’t let loose. Works great. Love all the pets! Figaro faithfully checking on you. Pups playing so well together. Baby Nora being adorable. Lil P, Hope and the gals being so cute. Great day. Glad it got done.
Great job on the greenhouse! To help keep chicks out of the feed trays we found that attaching a short 2" x 2" x 4-6" long, perpendicular to the length, under the tray around 1" from each end, can keep the tray up toward chest level. When they first arrive just nestle the tray deep in the litter and lift it higher as they grow. You can use hook and loop tape to attach the 2 x 2. Staple the tape to the 2 x 2 and stick the other half of the tape to the bottom of a clean feeder tray. The 2 x 2 can be easily removed for feeder cleaning and storage and are cheap to replace.

What a blessing to have good friends who have your back when you need them! God is good !

I am so HAPPY the plastic is on!!! I close on my 20 acres in one week!! Your family has inspired me so much. City girl with no clue..lol But can not wait to make mistakes.
That’s awesome!!! ❤️🇺🇸💪 I have a feeling you’re in for a wonderful adventure! Best of luck!
congrats on your new place
Good luck
Congrats and enjoy!
I’m sitting here sewing and watching the video and I got so excited lol. New drinking game 🍷 every time Al says wiggle wire you take a sip 😂😂😂😂👍🏻
I wouldn't have made it through the first end plastic.
I would have been gone sooner I think
@@stellarebello9848 Thanks for the morning laugh! This comment played out so well.
Amanda-Jane Hodge that was funny!!
And after each sip.... say wiggle wire 3 times!

Thanks Guys, all you helpers, couldn't have done without ya. I'm sure you'll reap what you sow. Love, and Kindness, a few veges.
Another major step accomplished, well done Al and his friends who came and gave a hand to get the plastic on. 👏👍
You know the whole world would be a much better place if everyone helped each other. That was great to see people coming together to help a friend. Al don't forget to leave the door or vents open while tilling. Don't want to breathe to many fumes.
Enjoyed the camera work. It was like we were there helping. We're all celebrating with you. I'm so excited to see what you'll grow on the greenhouse.

Just like an old fashioned barn raising. Get the neighbors together, and boom! you're done.
