Thank you Mr Kenny for that. I live round there and I'm therefore showing your useful video to friends and fam. One thing: I do NOT think your advice to wear a wrist loop is a good idea. What you're banking on is that the loop material is strong enough to cause the thief to fumble a snatch and weak enough to break if the guy gets a good firm grip on the phone. Those thin nylon cords can not only be surprisingly strong but also able to inflict a serious flesh laceration when pulled very taut. I'd worry that wearing a wrist loop could result in serious injury, death even if you're pulled violently over and/or dragged into the road.
I was one of the pioneers of London and I had the intention of buying an apartment in London, but after the theft, London changed from my point of view
I was going to a job interview today I was so excited and trying to find the place on google maps some guy came up from behind me and snatched my phone and I was so startled and screamed he ended up dropping my phone
Why you show him „hello „ ?? Today you recommended left a phone at home or don’t use at street . Tomorrow better will be stay at home. Next day move from London …I think this is not this way…
I appreciate your effort, but wrist band is REALLY dangerous. They can break your wrist, trying to pull at their high speed, which is even worse than just losing the phone! They can even pull you down to the concrete breaking your head, etc. Very very dangerous advice. Best not to pull the phone out!
Many thanks for making us aware. Sometimes we don't think of this. If I'm using my phone outside, I try and use it in a covered-walled plastic bus shelter. Otherwise I don't get it out.
Leave your phone in your pocket and use a smart watch. Also, using a smart watch will act as a backup to your bank cards and personal data, should your phone be stolen and you're far from home. Otherwise, just stay off your device and be more aware of your surroundings.
Was just on Tooley street on Monday/Tuesday. Saw another video with moped rider who mounted and stole a mobile from someone at the bus stop and then rode straight into a cyclist as they made their getaway knocking the cyclist down.
I find it hilarious that there's so much crime about, yet you're regularly seeing people walking around with big arse DJ headphones on their ears, with their face stuck in a phone, watching TikToks whilst they jaywalk. Natural selection always finds a way. I've spoken to some of these people and they say that the headphones are their way of saying that they don't want a chat. I don't think the thieves got the memo, the boy's got anxiety and doesn't feel like getting robbed today.
The camera man was me lool. Mate it was an arm signal as planned to change position to overtake the coach ahead 😂. Incase you’re wondering, it’s a 360° camera attached to my back while cycling #insta360x4
I’m guilty , it could have been me screaming like that poor girl 🤣🤣🤣🤣 After seeing this video on TikTok and other people sharing their experiences, I'm a bit more cautious outside with phone ‼️#whatascaryworld
Form my experience form London I always bought a phone case with a lanyard and a pop socket so it’s harder to steal as the friction and grip is better, or you can lock it in a bum bag so you can supervise the bag 24/7
I'd wondered about this. Tazer-like electric shock, liquid ammonia driven by a CO2 soda water cartridge etc. But, such devices, also your fish hooks, are almost certainly illegal. You're absolutely not permitted to kill or cause serious injury to burglars breaking into your home - electric shock, poison, IED, bear traps etc; in fact, the deployment of such intentional harmful or lethal devices will land you in serious, serious trouble in the UK. That's just the law. No good shouting about how unfair that is. Same restriction applies to outside your home, probably more so, I guess. It would be a shame if you ended up in court getting a worse punishment than the scumbag - plus, the scumbag and all his chums will find out who you are and exact revenge at leisure. On balance, I think it's probably better just to be careful and not get your phone snatched.
Not always possible, i.e. if you're doing deliveries, which is when phone thieves (and bike thieves) become a constant nuisance. The real solution is to wake up and have some fucking situational awareness. I swear people just walk about the streets like they're walking about their own home. And then when they do get home, they don't even bother to lock their doors.
these powered vehicles do not have a number plate, hence its difficult to track,
All powerd vehicles should have number plate.

in 2024 the advice now is get a mobile phone, but leave it at home. So get a house phone instead. Mental 😂

How did you invent london?
Are you some half-arsed attempt at AI? No human would post such gibberish.
I was going to a job interview today I was so excited and trying to find the place on google maps some guy came up from behind me and snatched my phone and I was so startled and screamed he ended up dropping my phone
Bless your heart!! I’m so glad you got it back!! That’s amazing!!

Dodgy looking characters = put phone away; people are cluelessly glued to their phone

The cameraman actually signaled the phone thief

Get phone insurance
Absolutely appalling, I feel sorry for her, but you shouldn’t have your phone out on display!!
This is Not Dubai! So true! ❤
Yep!! 😀

How would I attach a strap to my phone?

i thought the start of this video was CGI
Just make yourself a false mobile out of plastic with treble fishing hooks attached.Great fun .

It’s scary
Simple if its not on display it wont get stolen

2:08 was the phone more important than her life that she did'nt even look before running in the road what if the car was approaching fast
Yeah I get the point, but believe me your brain shuts down in situations like that, you don't think about anything.
You set it up , you signalled to him you thief
Your comment should be held in disrepute
he was indicating that he wanted to move to the right of the road 🤣
