- Scandinavians, and particularly Norwegians, are considered salmon experts. Salmon do really well in the cold waters of the Atlantic off Norway’s coast, and have become a kind of Norwegian national dish, especially when they’re smoked.
But not all smoked salmon are the same - that’s what Fredrik Møller Andersen thought. He needs more than just smoke to make his good smoked salmon - he adds patience, dedication and passion. Also known as “the smoker”, Andersen’s smoked salmon is known as the best in Norway.

Trust me, cold smoked Norwegian salmon is very very good on white bread. :)
Røkelaks, as it's called, is so delicious. On bread with butter and mayonnaise, and perhaps some scrambled eggs... That's a real, Norwegian, Sunday breakfast delicacy.

Been cold smoking Salmon in my back yard for four years now. Use to get Norwegian Salmon from Fulton Fish Market. But this year they did have Salmon from Norway. I got some Ora King from New Zealand. OMG. Just amazing.
I like the hanging process. Will try that next time. Three days of smoking would kill me. I do 24 hours and i like sleep for a few days.
Get cold smoke generator …. 4 cups of pellets will last for 2-3 days of cold smoking.

Come to the Maine USA coast in summer and do a taste test. We have a good bunch of fish smokers here. We use maple and apple wood.

99+% of Norwegian Salmon is farmed and has up the 7 times the pcb's of wild salmon. Learn more about the problems of farm raised fish and then decide whether or not to consume it, especially when many experts have done studies with some arguing that Norwegian Salmon is perhaps the most unhealthy food on Earth.
Absolutely love smoked salmon. It has a very unique flavour. But its not advised to eat loads of it as you can end up with mercury poison. I try to eat it at least once a month tho as a treat.
Nonsense. You can eat Norwegian salmon for dinner every day and not go above the threshold value. All living things got mercury in them and salmon is certainly not on the dangerous side.

All of the negative information comes from other countries with salmon production. They want a piece of the "cake ".
@@frodeenerstad4406 Seems to me that the "negative information" came in the form of videos showing the the actual evidence of their claims for all to see. You're of course free to eat whatever you choose, I stand by my statement. After all, I simply stated that it's the one salmon "THAT I" refuse to touch 🙂The question could obviously be asked though, that if the claims were fake claims, made purely to claim "a piece of the cake", why are any of the EIGHT videos claiming its toxicity still up? there's a damn good undeniable proof of Libel. They'd have sued if it could be proven incorrect.
You are free to have your opinion. Norwegian government does not accept any high toxic salmon to be sold to humans. They raise the intensity of Tests from salmon to be sure.
I keep away from Norwegian Atlantic salmon. This is farmed and the health problems are many.

All farm fish is given only prosessed food with chemicals for fastest possible growt, "health" and colour, and is not helthy for us any longer, same with chickens, they are realy bad.
