This reminds me of a trip to JCPENNEY'S. Thinking I would get a few minutes to myself I tried ditching my husband by heading to the women's underwear. He tagged along as always and while I was looking two older women we know wandered over and started taking. Then to my amazement a female employee walked over and said "excuse me sir are you the man that wanted to be fired for a bra?" All of us busted out laughing and he turned beet red. He got flustered. And if course wanted to know who put her up to that. He reply was "if you can hang around the bras talking to women I figured you could take a joke!" By the time we got back to our home town the story had already made it's rounds!

I believe this was actually written by Waddie Mitchell.
The author of The Bra was Bill Hersey, and like Scott, it was one of Waddle Mitchell’s favorites and he was well known for performing it.
