I got 5yrs on you. The 80's were Incredible. I was Fortunate enough to see almost every 80's Band Live in the 80's My Fondest Memory was Seeing Missing Persons for the 5th time & being invited backstage to meet them. Duran Duran was amazing but Favorite Concert had to be Adam Ant & The Romantics The Romantics opened & Killed It, then Adam Ant came on & took it to another Level. At 57 I realize how fortunate I was to grow up in one of the Most Amazing Musical Eras
@@thefiftyyearoldfourtwentyg7377 Im 57 as well and Missing Persons was the first concert i went to. Saw them at Crawford Hall in UCI around the time when Spring Session M came out.
Beautiful. Im 54 and in the 80's when I was a kid, this song and many others were the sound track to my youth. This was one of the best songs during that period for a lot of people. So happy to hear this song again and I bet all of the members of the band must have felt a great sense of pride to revisit this song and in a way, their past.
This Motels album was one of the first I bought as a teen. This brings me back to my youth, driving around with friends and singing along to this song, and “Take the L.” The Motels is an underrated group, for sure.
August 2 1985 San Juan, Puerto Rico, Hiram Bithorn Stadium. I was 14 years old and this was my 2nd concert ever. The Motels, Survivor and Men at Work played that night. I'm 52 now and this bands will never know how much we treasured those memories.
I know, amazing ain’t it?? Sadly however, legendary singers like Linda Ronstadt unfortunately lost their beautiful vocals due to health issues, and/or “mother time” simply taking its toll on their youth! 🥺😔
I just watched a 1982 performance of this song they did on Merv Griffin Show that brought me to this video. The female singer was young and beautiful. Going forward 40+ years she sounds just as good as back then but physically quite a drastic change. Unfortunately that's just the reality of getting older. Glad to know their still together and still touring. Awesome song and awesome band.
We saw the Motels open up for David Johansen in 1979 in Boston . Martha jumped up on to our table and kissed me on the cheek! Johansen was the main event and they were great but the place went crazy over a basically unknown band at the time. Great show !
As singers get on into the years it is so refreshing to see them sing with passion and love of the lyrics they wrote in their prime. I often wonder what became of some of the bands players an so on. Keep singing on!
Beautiful 🌹I love it. Martha Davis was pure talent. This song was Bigtime, and I’m glad I remember hearing it for the First time. Amazing song. Forever.🌹
It was just two years ago that I saw on RUclips the Bands Reunited episode that reunited the Motels. And it wasn’t until watching this video today that I realized how old that episode was.
this song and video will haunt me forever. it reminds me of running around all hours of the day and night with friends in los angeles. sunsets and parties...
I'm 63 and this came out when I was 22 and graduating from college in 1983. We've all aged and creaks and groans sound louder each morning. Martha still sounds good. Thanks for the memories.
I don't care what anyone says it was the best decade of music. One verse and I'm back in the 80's.
I don’t care how old she is!!!! Martha still can sing!!! So awesome she’s up there doing her thing!!!! Love you Martha and The Motels!!!!
Agreed! That voice is amazing and unmistakable. So glad to hear this again.
