    Looks so much better than the stock fender. The stock fender is maybe the main thing that's keeping me from buying this bike. I wish they came stock with that bobbed fender, since I don't have a work space or the mechanical skills to do such a modification myself :)

    Is that particular fender the only H-D fender that will fit outside of the stock Fat Bob fender?

    Great job on the fender mod and video production. I just picked up a 2013 Fat Bob and want to order the parts from your list. Did you just use your local HD dealer? Can you provide the source for the parts list? There’s another guy on RUclips that’s selling a complete unpainted bolt on kit for $975 with plug and play light kit. Would you have considered this option if you could do it all over again? His light kit has an integrated light bar that has signal flashers in the same unit. Thanks for your input and great video(s). Subscriber for life. Ride on!

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  6 лет назад +2

      You can definitely use your local H-D dealer, with the part #'s I provided. I used Surdyke Harley (now Gold Star Harley), because they have a discount for all their parts online.
      In hindsight, I don't think I would have done much differently. I really wanted to do it all myself, not because I don't trust anyone else, but it was a way to really get to know my motorcycle, and I'm one of those people who enjoy the sense of satisfaction after finishing something like this.
      I really appreciate the sub! Ride safe!

    Hey loved the video.. ...i'm about to do this mod.. just waiting for inner strut brackets..I talked to another guy that did this mod and he's not getting a open switch light on his bike... did you ever figure out what's causing that? He is also using the daytime running lights on his.. one more question did you use your factory turn signal in the rear? I heard the little extenders are bigger than the wideglide so you have to replace them too

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  6 лет назад

      It was the harness under the seat. It had to be swapped out. The H-D part # on the work order was 70025-11. I used the factory turn signals, but the stand-offs were slightly larger, and never quite fit correctly, but I made them work. Good luck, and let me know how it goes! :D

    • @mikgto68
      @mikgto68 6 лет назад

      @@thatoneguymoto ....you used the chopped fender brake light? Sounds like you might need a load resistor ... hannums told me there was no harness for that application and I was better off using the board on the fatbob and just extending the wires...

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  6 лет назад

      The fender brake light is the H-D LED Edge light kit listed in the description. If you can get everything to work and not have the indicator come on, that would be ideal. I tried the load resistor, but I couldn't get anything to work. I'll just say, if you know what you need to do, go for it and see if it works. Looking forward to hearing how it goes! :D

      @@lisandroremondino7882 I couldn't tell you, for sure, what years the support covers would work on. I ordered the support for the 2013 Wide Glide (the H-D part numbers are listed in the description) and they fit perfectly. It was around $650-700. That's including the FXDLS solo saddle. I was really patient in making sure I found good prices for all of the pieces, too, so if you just wanted to do this without deal searching, it'd probably be closer to $1,000.

    The fender is not pliable lol. That gap is suppose to be for the stock sissy bar that comes on the wideglides. You shouldn’t stretch that fender.

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  5 лет назад

      I'm sure you're right about the gap, though there was no need to "stretch" the fender, per se. It was just a bit of a surprise when there was about a 1/4" on both sides of space. 🤓

    Do not use a torque wrench to loosen nuts and bolts like that ever. You will damage it doing so.

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  3 года назад +1

      Rookie mistake, and you're definitely not the first person to mention it. Loosening with a torque wrench can throw off the calibration in the wrench, rendering it's purpose useless.
