- Another day, another Miraculous retrospective review. Today it's reflekta, named after an akumatised villain that seems to reoccur surprisingly a lot, yet she does not much in the grand scheme of smoothmoths plans. A surprising amount of stupidity is enacted by quite a few characters this episode which results in me slowly losing my mind which then becomes funny so I guess this was an enjoyable experience? Who knows? You can decide for me. Enjoy.

Reflekta’s voice actress did WONDERFULLY this episode. The insane laughter, especially. It really sells you on the idea that all Juleka’s repressed feelings are bubbling to the surface for the first time.

As an interesting side fact, both her and Reba Buhr, who takes over in Season 2, voice Juleka and Rose.

I would like to praise Juleka on being under-rated as a combatant. I feel there is a solid argument to be made for Juleka battling very successfully against Ladybug here and alongside Ladybug as a Tiger lady. I never understood why she took crap off Chloe, considering the fact that Juleka could beat Chloe very soundly. Look at Juleka standing next to the other ladies. Juleka is quite big and strong and it shows as a combatant.
To be honest, while Reflekta wasn't Hawkmoth's best plan to akumazation, I find this episode pretty charming.
I feel like Juleka should've been Vanisher, in my opinion. It would've been interesting to see her show them how she feels as a character and thinking that with being the photo jinx and missing the school photo that no one would care if she was gone and for her to show people how it feels by making people invisible like her.
To be honest if juleka was swaped into ninos place the story would have been. more to offer

I like this ep. It’s the one that kinda made Juleka my favorite side character. This & Horrificator, where she’s too interested in the monster to be afraid of it.
But Reflekta’s design isn’t the best. Who thought bright fuscia was the way to go for the goth girl that wears all black & purple??

This episode was decent. It did prove one of my facts though. Ladybug can’t tell good jokes. There’s a reason Cat Noir is the pun master and you’re not ladybug!
2:02 It's because apparently the Komi speak got lost in translation, since it was in the sub, which led Erin Fitzgerald & Reba Buhr to think that she talks normally until Tom found out & that's why she started to talk like that in Season 4.

Juleka alone carries this entire episode. I love how it focuses on her as the victim of the week before bevoming Akumatized a little longer than these episodes usually do. The episode did a solid job actually making me feel for the poor girl. Despite being the sole Juleka centered episode in the first season, her characterization really shone brightly here. The rest of the episode is whatever and Reflekta herself is one of the weaker villains on an execution level (though she works in this episode well enough, but it's a shame Juleka didn't get a more interesting alternate Akumatized form like characters such as Chloe, Kagami, snd even her older brother Luka did), but I believe this episode served a vital role in making Juleka a fan favorite and for that I give this episode a pass. Honestly, I wish Juleka was the main character of the whole show instead of Marinette. She's so much more relatable and likeable, especially after Season 3 when Marinette's character really takes a nosedive. XP

This episode shows how extremly annoying Chloe is, hell even Adrien was annoyed with her this episode. Also, it shows how in the early season how Damocles and Bustier are terrible at their job like seriously how come Bustier noticed that Juleka didn't come back from the bathroom, or reprimanded Chloe for her awful behavior and how spinless Damocles could because I doubt Juleka's mom would be happy about this. Also, this is season 1 Marinette what I liked about this episode is how Marinette or Alya didn't come up with some sort of complicated plan to get Marinette next to Adrien so points for that, then again I would also be love sick if I get to be in a picture with my crush even if it is a class photo 😁😂😊
I think Juleka's lines in the English dub are an inverse of the French version with her English lines being more comprehendable in the early seasons.
