The Lamarr Class could do with a "Hero ship" glow-up. The overall design isn't bad, but it needs to be hero:ed up to be more detailed.

Then it would be a sovereign class then.

Love the ship, but it needs someone to go in and really decide when things are like escape pods, phaser strips, etc. like you guys said.
    Overall great design though.

I love the design of the ship itself I really do. I like the idea of the nacelles possible going back and locking into place to go into both transwarp and or slipstream (maybe both)
Honestly I wish someone would redo this and have look the proper way. With name and registry markings, phaser strips (I'd include those on the nacelle pylons), escape pods, impulse engines, windows, and other hull markings. Even show as Stuart suggested a couple of ways the nacelles sliding back and locking into place for either transwarp or slipstream (or both). Speaking of markings as Stuart suggested have markings and registry underneath the shuttle bay.
I would even have that cut out at the front of the saucer those bit triangle type things at 4:55 light up as a secondary deflector dish. Maybe even the little lip below as you guys suggest have it as torpedo launchers.
Hell even where the quantum launcher is on the bottom of the secondary hull actually make it so it looks like a Captain's Yatch just like on the Sovereign class.

I think the consistency of seeing raised windows through the two seasons, can suggest two things. 1) reticence to use booleans for interest of keeping the polygon count low. 2) time spent simply using duplicate meshes set to emission may also save time. I remember thinking the sovereign lighting looked like the lights rested on bump mapping. But it's been long time

Maybe the nacelles are mounted on rails so you can change the warp field geometry, lengthen or shorten the warp bubble.

Maybe the blue glows ar virtual windows. Sensors that then project the starscape to the interior so as to keep it armoured. That transparent aluminium must be pretty flimsy these days compared to the most modern materials used in hulls.

Looks like it doesn’t have any kind of phaser strips? No registry or markings anymore? Kinda has more of a Star Wars design to it, like they lost the sleekness and organic look of tng

It's amazing looking at the Lamarr Class design it looks like an improved version of the Intrepid class design with the shape of arrowhead like design of the Saucer section to the design of the secondary hull though looking at the design of the warp nacelles and the pylons I can't tell if the pylons pivot upward like the Intrepid Class Starships can.

  • @90lancaster
    @90lancaster 20 дней назад +1

It looks like a poorly textured mis-shapen Enterprise F predecessor.
Which isn't the worst thing in the world if one sees it as part of the "fleet style" of that era.
But the texturing is atrocious if I can be blunt about it.
Star Trek has been "weird" for so many years now - It is getting to the point that when something is made that makes sense it is a huge surprise - so this is more of the "make it make" sense parade I guess.
Bad - not exactly... Good - absolutely not !

nuTrek doesn't understand star trek. There is no reason for the continuation of Voyager's registry number. The Enterprise got it because they saved Earth in star trek 4. Obviously the TOS Defiant didn't have it's registry number continued. nuTrek thinks every ship gets it e.g. voyager the titan, etc.. nuTrek is just stupid trash.

The nacelles are perfectly sized... The issue is that their too close together. It they moved them out a little, they'd look a LOT better. What are the blue glows? They're what new trek designers throw all over ships since Discovery came out... Blue glows. The lazy form of details. Inside and out.
