    So many people talk about Africa as if it's one country. Africa is a continent with 54 individual countries. Each country has its own language and culture.

    • @patricblack1
      @patricblack1 2 месяца назад

      Well the colonizers founded those countries. It's just separated by tribalism. Thanks to white people. If you recognize South Africa as a legitimate country for example that's an issue.

      She kept repeating the fact that she's in a Grocery store in Zimbabwe. Barely mentioned fruits.

      @@ayDursi it was the visual for me . but take it how you want. I felt like she was showing it off because it IS much better than the grocery stores in the west. bigger and better. I can understand why you would feel like it was mocking if youre accustomed to this level of grocery store but she was genuinely (albeit goofily) showing Zimbabwe off. We simply dont have that. There are many areas in the US that dont have grocery stores because of environmental/zoning racism to this day. Tiff is from south central LA... she was sowing yall off.

    Keep in mind Black Americans were sold an image of African countries and its people. The educated can pull up the history to understand. I’ve seen both groups shocked by things when visiting another country. Let’s stop shaming and start teaching one another.

    I lived most of my working life overseas and traveled to several countries in Africa. America is separated from the rest of the world by two oceans. Americans live in a bubble. The sad truth is that many of us have negative views of the continent, which are given to us by the dominant culture and its media. Most Americans don't have passports and if black Americans do travel internationally, countries in Africa are rarely the first priority. With this being said, her video was not offensive. She could have done a better job educating viewers and clearly communicating her intent. If you don't, you will be picked apart on social media.
