Rated R was a real career-defining album in Rihanna's career if you go down to it. She became a household name with the previous album Good Girl Gone Bad and then later the world knew her as the girl who got beaten by Chris Brown. Instead of holding that on her, she moved on with her career and made an album showing that she is a much stronger person and continued on what would be a career of one of the most successful artists in history.

Rated R was when Rihanna finally decide to show the world who she was and that she was gonna make music she likes. This is why I like this era because she became the Rihanna we know and love today.
I remember when this came out, everybody was like "Oh... why did Rihanna change? She's so dark now, what happened to the old Rihanna?" blah, blah blah... she was becoming the Rihanna we know today.. she was finally being herself.

I've been searching for this for years! Here's a quick insight on why. I saw this on the music channel as a little girl (I was a HUGE Rihanna fan back then) but I never knew what this song was called. The only thing I could remember about this was that the video was in black and white, and Rihanna was wearing some sort of coat. So, for years, I've been searching things like "Rihanna black and white", "Rihanna grey" "Rihanna wearing coat music video" and never found this. Today, I stumbled upon a playlist with her and Beyonce's songs in and I finally found this! The nostalgia is real.
