I think the music after 2014 got worse simply because of auto tune (I never liked it) and the fact that people get phones and computers to do everything for them nowadays. Back in 2010, they weren't so many artists using auto tune and the technology wasn't as good as it is now.
Autotune is fine and cool when used in Electronic Music (such as this song) but the problem is so called "singers" and rappers abusing it. Not just that, but the beats, vocals, and overall sound in today's Pop isn't enticing.
We were a generation living the childhood in a growing Europe during Berlin-wall-falling, plenty of fullfilled dreams and expectations despite of nowourdays political environment.
Create your own reality, in 10 years you will look back and have this as a memory, but probably also other things line going to college/first job, girlfriend etc.
